How do I build a 433 around the Mezzala?

Recommended Posts

I wanted to utilise the Mezzala role to its fullest extent and possibly become a 20+ goals player.

How do I set up the roles around him so he has a lot of space to operate?

My mezzala candidate has good dribbling and finishing skills so If he has space to run into just one or two players instead of a packed midfield I am sure he can destroy defence. However what should be the role of the Winger and the fullback on his side so maximum space can be created? What should be the roles of other players as well?

What Would the best PPMs and PI suited for him?

We see Kevin De Bruyne overlap the winger and make some seriously juicy crosses into the box.I know this player isn't good at crossing. However if one wanted to create such style what would be the roles of the winger(perhaps an inside forward with sit narrower? ) and the PIs and TIs for the rest of the players?

He looks like a great player. He needs space for sure. You can look into maybe moves into channels, or potentially cuts inside from the wing. Plays one twos could be another.

As for roles and duties, @Ö-zil to the Arsenal! Has a wonderful thread with his benfica save. It's FM18 but he uses a mezzala to great affect.

When it comes to the partnership between a mezzala and wide forward, my experience is that the mezzala can work nicely with any wide fwd role as long as they are on different duties. Now, given that this (great) player in your screenshot can be comfortably utilized on attack duty, it means that his wide fwd partner should be on support.

As for the fullback - as well as the rest of the setup - their roles and duties would depend on too many factors to be possible to offer a simple answer. We don't even know which formation you intend to use, let alone other tactical elements.

Hmm...I want to use a  433( 4141 DM Wide)....I do have a pretty versatile group of players,so I am pretty open to suggestions for roles and duties.

One problem I find is that during build up phase the wide fwd and and mezzala are most of the time on the same vertical line, which for me feels inefficient use of space. Also during build up play sometimes it feels the mezzala is not as involved as he should be.I am not very good at understanding football so I don't know if its a good thing or bad thing. Also could be that I am using a playmaker who is taking focus away from him.In that case should I not use a playmaker?

Post a screenshot of the tactic you are talking about. That's the only way to find out where potential issues are.
