bobbyb12345
Defensive players don't know where attacking players are unless they're on the ball... I can't believe this isn't spoken about more. Once you notice this it's impossible to take seriously. From what I can see, a player being on the ball seems to activate two members of the opposition to press the ball-carrier as hard as you dictate. The rest of the players appeal to just reset to their default position. Problem is, if there's a good stood in space (say behind the wing back) then no defender will move towards him to cover the space until the pass has been made, by which time it's too late. I know the match engine is what it is, but the game is impossible to enjoy when you see defensive problems and the cause is an unsolvable game-mechanic. MBarbaric
i assume it also depends on pressing/closing down settings when players have "longer eyeseight" so to speak. but essentially, you are right. Players aren't councious of their teammates (or opponents) until certain parameters kick in. At least that's how it seems to me.
ferrarinseb
I think its because they are more prioritised to keep the shape. When an attacker starts dribbling the defending team priortises to get in shape and hold the D Line then when the Attacker gets closer to goal they put their bodies infront of shots rather than cutting the attack higher up. I can't believe this isn't spoken about more. Once you notice this it's impossible to take seriously. When ball is not in player possession team tries to find its positions set by formation and defline. At the moment lacking player movement in defending is hindering formations defending and defline has become more a burden than a effective way to defend. It looks like players dont react because they find their formation and defline positions too slowly. There's also too little coded positions for defline and formation. Teams take too big steps down when one player dribbles deep or is passed deep. This may also be a mentality thing how fast formation drops down, but it should not damage the shape of formation like it now does. Other problem is fullbacks wich are part of static defline. When ball is played deep from center, first fullbacks find their defline position in panic and after that go for the ball and man in flank. Fb's should not be part of defline when ball is passed to flank. After that remaining defline or dm should move to fill that gap what is left behind By that fb. Depending what is opposition formation. Atm defline works the same if theres 3 or 1 opposition attackers. More coded defline combinations! But again I'm just a player what I know
