anagain
Tough opener to your Premiership campaign. Hopefully the goals will boost confidence...assuming the game ever works like that.

I hope we can at least stay up this season
Deisler26
GAME 2 Such a poor result. We dominated the game, but could not get anything going in the final third. We took the lead on 31 minutes with good work down the right seeing Sarpong-Wiredu lay the ball off to Jake Forster-Caskey just outside the box and his 25 yard first-time shot saw it beat the keeper all ends up. Sadly, we were sucker-punched from nearly the same place and the ball squirmed under O'Hara for their goal
Deisler26
GAME 3 The goalscorer says it all. He capitalised on two mistakes by the defence and made us pay whilst we just fired blanks.
Deisler26
CARABAO CUP SECOND ROUND An easy win for the second team and a few headaches for me, regarding our league form... We took a very early lead when Morgan switched the play out to the left and Maloney's cross was headed home by Connor McCarthy. Just past the ten minute mark, a Maloney free kick from the left was headed towards goal by Baxter. The ball thundered down off the underside of the bar and Albie Morgan stabbed it in. On 18 minutes, we trebled the lead. A brilliant through ball by Morgan took out most of the defence and a timed run saw Thierry Ambrose get to the ball first and slide it under the keeper. We finished off the first half by scoring our fourth goal on 38 minutes. A free kick on the edge of the box was delicately curled over the wall into the top corner by Connor McCarthy. It took til 79 minutes to extend our lead when a great move down the right saw McCarthy bamboozle his defender and cross for new club record signing Alex Tuncer to score his first ever goal for the club on his debut! Deisler26
GAME 1 Our first game back in the Premier League for 15 years... wasn't fun. But, we can take heart from the fact that we kept them out for most of the game.
Deisler26
GAME 2 Our first three points in the Premier League! We opened the scoring on 20 minutes when an absolute howler from the Burnley keeper saw his pass to his centre back hit too hard and there was Thierry Ambrose to curl into an empty net from 30 yards. We doubled the lead on 35 minutes when good hustle from Mavididi saw him dispossess the defender and play in the onrushing Isi. His run beat the covering defender and with the keeper advancing, rolled a delicate shot past the keeper to literally just nestle into the far corner. We lost Conner McCarthy to injury after using all three subs, but it didn't matter as Jake Forster-Caskey popped up from 25 yards to thunder in a low strike that beat the keeper for sheer power! We're off and running!
Deisler26
CARABAO CUP SECOND ROUND A relatively simple passage into the next round. We opened the scoring on 11 minutes, a deep, curling corner by Forster-Caskey finding Stephy Mavididi jumping highest to head the ball past the keeper. There was almost a carbon copy goal to take the lead again just before the 30 minute mark. A corner was headed towards goal by Mavididi, but was diverted past the keeper by Sotirios Papagiannopoulos popping up at the far post. Forster-Caskey was at the heart of the final goal, scored on 87 minutes. A cross from the right found Forster-Caskey leaping highest in the middle. His knock-on found substitute Callum Webber, who lashed home from 6 yards.
john1
Was always going to be tough against Man Utd, in first game of the season. Good win over Burnley and West Brom
