KibworthBull
After a relatively easy trip to Afghanistan and winning the Afghan Premier League 8 years in a row I have decided to embark on a new challenge. My frustration from Afghanistan is that we couldn't make the Asian Champions League and because I didn't have any other leagues loaded it was too easy to become dominant - I was also able to sign players from other clubs as long as they were Afghan. So this challenge is a Youth Academy Challenge and I have also added in a huge amount of players in Africa so the majority of the bigger clubs on the continent have the players you would expect - so we have to get ourselves together before we can compete. Database can be found here Trying to take Hidden Talent from the lowest league in Kenya, all the way to the top and winning the African Champions League with only Kenyan's - we will probably need a squad of Victor Wanyama's before we can do this.. From what I can see they are amongst the worst in the country and are expected to finish towards the bottom of the table - so a perfect chance to cut my managerial teeth. We are amateur and will probably need a couple of promotions before this situation changes. Basic Summary of the achievements I hope to tick off - they are vast and I will endeavour to update as and when they are complete. Win promotion from FKF Regional Division - achieved 2020/21 Win promotion from FKF Division One - achieved 2021/22 Win promotion from Kenyan National Super League - achieved 2023/24 Win the Kenyan Premier League - best placed 2nd - 2026/27 Win the SportPesa Shield - best = Semi Final - 2025/26 Win the Kenyan Super Cup - best = Runner Up - 2027/28 Sell a player for CA$H Youth Academy Graduate plays 500 times for Hidden Talent Youth Academy Graduate scores 100 goals for Hidden Talent Youth Academy Graduate gets 100 assists for Hidden Talent Youth Academy Gradute gets 50 Man of the Match for Hidden Talent Youth Academy Graduate plays for a side outside of Kenya Youth Academy Graduate plays for a side outside of Africa Youth Academy Graduate wins Kenyan Top Scorer - 5Y Fidel Mwaura Youth Academy Graduate plays for Kenya U20 - 4Y Bernard Abdallah Youth Academy Graduate plays for Kenya U23 - 6Y Samuel Orundu Youth Academy Graduate plays for Kenya - 4Y Jackson Wafula Youth Academy Graduate plays for another countries U20 - 5Y Salum Abubakar (TAN) Youth Academy Graduate plays for another countries U23 Youth Academy Graduate plays for another countries national side Youth Academy Graduate wins African Goalkeeper of the Year Youth Academy Graduate wins African Defender of the Year Youth Academy Graduate wins African Midfielder of the Year Youth Academy Graduate wins African Striker of the Year Youth Academy Graduate wins African Player of the Year Youth Academy Graduate wins African Promising Player of the Year Youth Academy Graduate wins African Broadcaster Player of the Year Youth Academy Graduate wins Kenyan Top Scorer - 5Y Fidel Mwaura (21 goals) Win African Confederation Cup Win African Champions League Progress to Date: Star Player Edwin Karanja wanted by most of the league but has already turned down a few offers so stays for now. Players will come and go for the next few seasons as we try and establish a way of playing and a youth academy. This is my side save so updates may stop for a little bit depending on my mood (i.e. what save I am playing...) KibworthBull
About a good a start as we could have hoped for - should really have been 9pts but we let Strathmore University come back from 0-2 Edited June 29, 2020 by KibworthBull
KibworthBull
A mixed month - one of each result - we do though sit 11pts better off than the board expected. PS - if anyone can tell me how to make the pictures bigger - would be gratefully appreciated..
KibworthBull
Finally got a Head of Youth Development involved.. in nearly 3 months, he is the only one interested
KibworthBull
9 points from 9 Boys are absolutely flying right now. Francis Omondi looks more than capable at this level.
KibworthBull
Happy days from an intake point of view - although we currently have a low low bar
KibworthBull
Horrible couple of months, but finally a victory.. An 8pt lead has been whittled down to nothing. We probably don't have the legs for the run in.
KibworthBull
Defeat to the Champions and then back to back victories. We have now played all our home games, and finish with 3 tricky away ones. Hoping Strathmore University have a really important exam when we play them..
KibworthBull
INTAKE!!!! Moses is a brave boy and has decent finishing and determination James can pick a pass and has a decent technique, although completly lacking any sort of physical engine. All 16 players have been "signed" and will form the backbone of my main side from next season Edited June 30, 2020 by KibworthBull
KibworthBull
Massive result in April - also put the May fixtures in for a little bit of context.. As tough as we can get. 2 horse race for promotion
KibworthBull
Ran out of steam at the end and missed out by 1 point on promotion - 7 defeats were our downfall.

KibworthBull
A little bit more reflection on S1.. Quite pleased that we didn't end up getting promoted as we would have been massively out of our depth in the FKF Division One, another season on the bottom rung of the ladder will allow me to blood some of the youngsters and remove some of the older players who don't have 5* potential - whatever that means at this level. We have 51 players in our squad, I would like to start the season with no more than 30 so there is quite a cull approaching. Paul Nyangweso impressed in the 2nd half of the season - absolute bobbins in the 1st half but as our form became patchy he became reliable in that CM position. I played him mainly as a BWM (S) and that's what bought the best out of him. Francis Omondi scored goals for fun in the first 8 games - 4 of them to be exact. Sadly form dipped in the 2nd half of the season but he has the potential to be my main striker next season. I'm hoping the board expect more of the same next season, maybe a little less as the standard of the squad might decline due to the cull. Not expecting fireworks anytime soon.. KibworthBull
13 players released which gives me a squad of 38 - 3 or 4 of the ones still here are wanted by clubs up the pyramid and if they are approached I will be fighting a battle to keep hold of them. KibworthBull
The board (without any nudge from me) have agreed a senior affiliate.. They play in the 2nd flight of Kenya and we could get loan players (we won't..) and we get a friendly
KibworthBull
Group A this time around. Admiral and Dagoretti Green Santos were played last year. The rest are new. Waterworks came down last season. The expectation is currently that mid-table is good enough. We also have our first "runner" - tempted by a side in the 2nd tier (Kenyan Super League). He never played for me.
KibworthBull
A good positive pre-season with a number of victories over higher graded opposition before starting the league campaign with a win. A fairly irrelevant league table.. Although that victory wants enough for Edwin.. the annoyance of not being able to offer contracts to people - the best we can do is non-contract right now. 12 months ago he was the star player but overall the squad has improved. He's not one of "ours" so we move on. He was though an influence in the dressing room so we now have no team leaders.
KibworthBull
Strike one Clifford.. I don't care if you have a big red dog either... Some months are more interesting than others.. Top with games in hand.
KibworthBull
Kisumu Telkom saw us 0-3 at half time so some mixed results.. Joseph Onyango becomes the first "of mine" to score a goal for the club - unfortunately in our first defeat of the season - already highly rated member of the squad.
KibworthBull
We turned ourselves off against the Waterworks but apart from that a very good month. Halfway stage of the league - 9 points ahead - near identical position to last season before the wheels wobbled.
KibworthBull
We want to talk to you but don't think your the right man for the job.... Huh??? Go Away!! Things continue to go well - 8 matches left... 5 months to play them in! Another Golden Generation could be on the cards - I need a good full back
KibworthBull
Another youngster moves to Bidco (Kenyan Super League) - It's very tricky to judge how much of a blow this is as every player "has" 5* potential Not one of mine, but he had 5 in 11 this season. The month was looking horrid until the big win at the end against Waterworks
KibworthBull
Francis Omondi - You can do whatever you want to my good lady... Mahusive win.. 9 clear with 5 to play
KibworthBull
Pressure is building - we have had 2 chances now to clinch the title... One point from three games is all we need.
KibworthBull
The usual low reputation intake - not much current ability but all have lots of potential.. Jacob Haji looks like he has the basics of a winger, lots of Flair and Crossing ability - not a lot else mind. The majority were signed. Took the decision that Amos Osonga and Elvis Marita were not as I don't play those positions in the tactic and they are not good enough to learn something new.
KibworthBull
Fluffed our lines massively.. That's now no wins in 3 but fortunately Waterworks also decided to fluff their lines and we have secured promotion!
KibworthBull
Back to back victories secured us the title alongside the promotion, and an historical moment as 1Y Titus Adanga scored our first newgen hattrick. We also played an entire youth academy squad for the Kawangware match. Admiral had their own Aguerrrrrrroooooo moment with 2 goals in the last 5 minutes against Waterworks to knick the 2nd promotion spot.
KibworthBull
We have 3 key performers week in week out. Paul Nyangweso in the CM position, Victor Rodgers on either wing - doesn't bother him either side, and Francis Omondi up top. These 3 boys were key as they drove us forward to promotion and will be vital next season as we battle against relegation.
KibworthBull
We've jumped from "Obscure" to "Local" We have been drawn in Group D alongside Admiral who came up with us. 12 matches in all - just need to avoid finishing bottom.
KibworthBull
Never easy to tell how much of a blow it is to lose a player when the entire squad is 5* potential - this guy could be great and St.Joseph have signed a great or he could be a dud. They are in the next league up (Kenyan Super League).
KibworthBull
With just 12 games this season it feels a bit daft that we play nearly half of the matches by the end of October. A mixed pre-season against higher graded opponents, before the opening day defeat - we did lots of things right though.. We also lost one of our best defenders to Bidco Utd on transfer deadline day, and one of the latest intake who hadn't played for the senior side.
KibworthBull
After a defeat on the opening day we've reduced the mentality from "Positive" to "Balanced" and we have taken back to back victories from it The vital number is 6.. points clear of bottom place. We have also convinced the board to improve the Youth Recruitment to "Fairly Basic"
KibworthBull
4 more points from October.. 10pts from the first 5 games as we hit the half way point of the campaign. 10 more points and we are safe I reckon.
KibworthBull
Checked the history of the division and all groups - no team has been relegated with more than 13 points.. although there is only 2 seasons worth of data! We could be on for back to back promotions, which would be nice.. 5 games left, 3 points clear, bottom place up next. The keeper in this one is the most exciting piece of news - hopefully he is 1st team ready.
KibworthBull
The January transfer was not overly kind to us. Joseph is a very highly rated player - he was just starting to get into our side as well. Overall we lost 4 players. Results on the field continue to go well.. We need 3 points from the final 3 games..
KibworthBull
Our first major injury of the save - that could be his career done and dusted..
KibworthBull
Not the result we needed although it does bring us 1 more point closer to the title. Malindi Academy can still get 27 points so we need 5 points to be mathematically assured, although with goal difference 4 points should do it.
KibworthBull
Now this is more like it.. Some solid yellow attributes for Byrne.. straight into my first team he goes. We are very blessed with right sided talent.. Give this man a deal ball and let him cross it in ALL DAY LONG...
KibworthBull
Champions! And a nice little hattrick for one of our own. The majority of our squad are "potential Super League standard players" and that's the level we are at next season - this could be where the hard work really begins..
KibworthBull
A draw finishes the season off A near perfect season - 11 games unbeaten 12 games feels a little bit like a cop-out for a season. Next year sees us play 38 matches in the league - a proper season. 6 players didn't miss a game, 2 missed only 1 and only 19 players used. 3 of our "own" have made it into the hall of fame.. 1Y Morris Otieno, 1Y Joseph Onyango and 1Y Titus Adanga
KibworthBull
The bookies think we will finish bottom of the league (by some margin) and based on pre-season they could be onto something. The transfer window has hit us relatively hard - we can't offer any played a paid contract for a set period so we have the constant fear that every bid will take someone away from us. We haven't lost any stars yet but the window will be open for a little bit longer and I have the fear. Until we can go fully Professional this situation will not change. The Wesley Tera deal hurt though - he turned 17 a couple of days before and signed his first "pro-deal" - then walked away. On the opening day we were winning 4-2 in the 83rd minute and were lucky to finish with a point! Improvement is required.
KibworthBull
Not quite the unbeaten run you ideally want but we will certainly take it.
KibworthBull
We cannot buy a win.. Really strange season - we are not really losing games, we just can't win any! We've drawn more games this season than the past 2 combined. We sit 2 points above the drop
KibworthBull
Yep, this level is a tough one for us. Still searching for that victory. The Muranga Seal game was 0-3 and 1-4 at one point before we battled back. Goal Difference is the only thing keeping us above that line. We play 2 of the bottom 4 next month - MUST WINS!! KibworthBull
I have no idea what I said to the boys before the Green Commandos match but it worked! Frankly ridiculous! We managed to go back to normal service the following week.. We led 2-0 against Administration Police before falling apart in the last 20 minutes - up and down more than a tarts.... For the first time this season we are in the relegation zone. A nice sounding intake..
KibworthBull
Our best academy graduate we have had so far... Has decided to bugger off to Mt.Kenya - less than 2 weeks after agreeing a new "non-contract" And then they give me a chance to manage him again... No! Results on the pitch have been the best they have been all season - we are still in the relegation zone but are on the cusp of climbing out of it.
KibworthBull
We are scoring quite a few late goals at the minute and we are all breathing a lot easier now we have pulled away from the drop zone 12 more matches to play and 7 points clear of the drop with 6 teams below us and a decent goal difference - everything is looking quite nice again. No one else has scored as many goals as we have either.
