Transfer budget for promotion to PL

Recommended Posts

Hi,

I'm playing as Fulham and trying to plan my transfers over the next year, if I get promoted to the PL in season one then how much can I expect to get as a transfer budget for season two in the PL? Will it be as much as the £100m they spent last season?

Thanks

It will depend on your performance and the board. The largest chunk of income are the TV rights (€100 million+) but the funds are paid over the course of the season, not in a lump sum. You can take a look at the projections in your finances section to get a better idea what your budgets will look like.

The boards ambition plays a huge role in that. I'd expect in the region of £60 mill, but you can rework it to 2-3 times as much with instalments and clauses.

Lol I got £35m when I went up with Bristol City, that's with £6-7m left over from last season too

How do you like managing Bristol City? I took them over in 2028 in Championship and promoted to PL within 7 seasons. I'm finding that their owner, Stephen Lansdown, is one of my favorite chairmen I've had in the game.

Seems reasonable enough for Bristol, it should be higher for Fulham though, for the reason already mentioned.

Took me 2.5 seasons to get promoted. Expectations have never been super high, however that's always been reflected in the level of budget I've had. I've needed to wheel and deal and generally perform miracles to get them where we are.

I was about to say, I got £30 mill with Sunderland, all be it off the back of two successfull promotions so the board were likely not ready/expecting it which meant their ambitions would have been very low for the upcoming season.

Out of curiosity, how did you get on with the £30m? Finding it pretty tough so far, not many good freebies around this year!

Also struggled, media prediction was 20th even after my signings.

I was predicted 18th, but Leeds who came up with me are smashing it and are currently 7th. After watching another NE team in the FA Cup yesterday IRL it occurs to me you need two sets of tactics - one for away at top 6 sides to make sure you don't get completely pumped (5-4-1 ultra defensive), and another set for everyone else!
