Languages in game

Recommended Posts

Hi sportsinteractive or an Fm player

in an FM save I once clicked that besides Dutch I can also speak German and English. If I now want to start a new save and I click on Dutch only, the save will say on my profile that I can still speak Dutch, German and English. how can I solve this?
Best regards,
Hugo

If you want to remove some of the default languages that you can speak based on your nationality, the only way that you can do so is with the in-game editor. For example, if I select myself as American but don't want any Spanish-language skills, I must use the in-game editor to remove my Spanish-language skills after my manager is created.

Note that you do need to start a new game for the in-game editor to appear and be available for use.

Are you sure? I thought that the IGE became usable as soon as you bought it and it was not necessary to start a new game.

You only need to start a new game if you selected the option at the start of the current save to not allow the IGE.

Apologies. I thought that I had read that that was the case.

While I'm here, I'll add that another way to solve the OP's issue would be to use the main editor prior to starting a game, go to your country and change the language settings there - i.e. remove German and English from the Netherlands. However, do note that doing this will impact which languages newgens from that country will speak.
