help extending player/assisant contract

Hello guys,

 

Im playing as Anderlecht and am almost out of my 2nd season...

Now i want to extend Kompany his contract but it says he doesnt want to go into negotiations with me because im offering him an inferior contract.

Same is happening with one of my scouts who has another job.

Why does it say that before i had the chance to actually offer him a position and is there a solution to this?

Or am i looking over the option to offer him a certain position before i start the negotiations?

Unsure what the deal with Kompany is. I’ve doing extremely well with city in my 3rd season and wanted to make him assistant manager.

He wouldn’t even open contract talks for any position and he’s a legend at this club so I’m not sure what he’s after? Maybe to become a manager and no other role?
