A_Sober_Paddy
FIFA World Cup Qualification - CONCACAF -Vs- Line-Up First Half Went 1-0 down despite absolutely dominating, Haiti attacker just rang straight through my defense, dreadful attempt at defence. Equalized via the penalty spot. Haiti also are now down to 10 men after Bryan Alceus picked up 2 yellows in the first half...We created 2 CCC & 2 Half Chances in the first half. Full Time Says it all, how didn't we win more comfortably, it took an 80th minute goal to take the lead...Thanks to Lucas Cavallini who scored both our goals today...Also capped youngster Alen Topalovic, who got 3 minutes on the pitch. A_Sober_Paddy
1st Half Left back lunges in, penalty...absolute brain fart...Haiti take the lead from the spot Go into the break trailing, but still ahead due to the Away Goals rule... 2nd Half Waiting until the hour mark before making a substitution, bring on Scott Arfield for Osorio... Didn't take Scott too long before making an impact (7 minutes in fact)...1-1 and again Arfield grabs his second to make it 2-1 to the hosts... Within 2 minutes, we surrender the lead...But thankfully we hold out and progress Zero problem creating chances, converting them on the other hand is an issue as too is the flaky defenders i have available to me... Over both games we created 4 CCC, 7 Half Chances & 3 Hit Woodwork...Total of 30 shots on target too...

Good result & Performance...Not overly happy with failing to keep a single Clean Sheet in 4 games, but this is a Canadian side who had only kept 2 cleans in 8 under the previous management team and those were against Antigua & Barbuda & Guyana Edited April 16, 2020 by A_Sober_Paddy

A_Sober_Paddy
Concacaf Gold Cup Group D - Match 1 -V- Costa Rica go into the game, as holder's of the Gold Cup and favourites to retain the trophy Line Up First Half Topalovic puts Canada into the lead after only 16 minutes of play... Canada continue to create the better of the chances, but Keylor Navas is having a solid game for Costa RIca...Remains 1-0 at the break...Will our inability to double our lead come back to bit us??? Half Time Second Half Much the same as the first half, we are still creating the best chances, but Navas is really keeping Costa Rica in the game... Costa Rica start to get a foothold in the game, starting to create a few chances and continuing to control possession...But its still 1-0 to Canada... 88th Minute Goal.... Topalovic again!!!! Full-Time Navas scored a 7.3 rating for his performance...We really should have won this one more comfortably
A_Sober_Paddy
Concacaf Gold Cup Group D - Match 2 -V- Line Up First Half Dominating first half display, Bermuda keeper very busy...But we break the deadlock via the Penalty Spot on the 40th minute...J.David Half Time Second Half More of the same, We are dominating, but just can't find the back of the net from open play...Another penalty...Again J.David dispatches it with ease...2-0 Full Time The result see's us book our place in the Quarter Finals
A_Sober_Paddy
Concacaf Gold Cup Group D - Match 3 -V- Line Up Wholesale changes, giving players on the fringe a run out while letting the players who played the opening 2 days a well needed rest ahead of the knockout stage... First Half 2 Minutes in... Penalty scored by Cavallini... 15 Minutes in... Arfield beats the keeper at the near post... 37th Minutes gone... David Norman scores his First Canadian goal from an Arfield Assist Half Time Second Half 53rd Minute First goal we have conceded in the tournament...Route one defender missed his header...3-1 90th Minute Terrible Defending...Terrible Second half performance from us Full Time Will Still top the group with 100% record...But this performance was far from polished... Reigning champions Costa Rica draw their final game against 9 man Bermuda and go out via Goal Difference
A_Sober_Paddy
Concacaf Gold Cup Quarter-Final -v- Line Up First Half Topalovic!!!!! All Square...Missed header from a free Half Time Fairly Even first half, most of Mexico's off target chances were from outside the box, and not threatening at all... Second Half Penalty, Arfield took his man out off the ball... We get caught on the break as we try to get back into the game, and we were left exposed at the back... James...with a header...we are back in this... Game over... Full Time Only ourselves to blame, we created plenty, just didn't put those chances away...The other side of the draw is much easier compared to this side We were going to get either USA or Mexico in the Quarter Finals...Just terrible luck
