Preseason 2022/23

Right after the promotion.

1,5 stars!

Money!

Idk why only 19 teams are shown in the predictions, maybe the B teams are missin.

But we are 22/22.

Nice.

I tried 3 seasons to get Las Palmas or Tenerife as Senior Affliate.

Sadly thats isnt possible anymore, so I went for the team with the most money.

900 are expected.

Just played small teams on the islands, but with switching formation again, Im pretty happy.

Got some pretty good players on a free.

We actually spent our first money for a transfer.

I wanted Joel since the beginning of this save on loan, but he always went to a diffenrent team.

The loanies I will try to get on a free in January, like the other loanies which we already had.

If the Libero stuff doesnt work, I will try make him a Wingback, since there are quit rare.

I didnt expect that either.

I dont think we can stay up, but the money we already got....puh tasty!

Im pretty sure even if we get relegated, I can get another chance, since I signed a new 3 year contract.

That's absolutely awesome mate, congrats. You've inspired me to do something similar with Palermo, using only Sicilian players, so thanks for the inspiration!

How do you decide on what tactic you want to play with? I feel like it would be really difficult to build a tactic when you can't guarantee what positions are coming in. 

Also, how did you figure out which towns/cities were worth including in your filter list?

I just start with a basic tactic and develop it over the years.

In this save I started with an 4231 since I had a really good AM.

Then I had a 41212 diamond since I normally hate wingers and we had no good ones.

Atm this is the tactic, which got me promoted.

Its not perfect, but the football you play and chances you create are so damn nice to watch.

 

The filter is the tricky part.

I got a spain level 6 database.

So I went through the leagues and just added cities, which were on the Canary Islands to the filter.

In Spain its pretty simply since they got a 4th division with just Canary Islands teams and two level 5 divisions. (Tenerife and Las Palmas)

 

For sicily i would go through all leagues and just check them per google.

Also wikipedia is very helpful: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Category:Football_clubs_in_Sicily

Something I've found quite useful for future reference; if you go into the FM20 editor and type in 'Sicilia' (or whatever region you want) into the local region tab, then go into cities, it'll show all the towns listed under Sicilia. Then the cities have all the different populations, and you can pick 30/40 of the places with the biggest population. For example, you've got Tacaronte which has 10000-25000 people, but you could add Arucas, which has 25000-50000 people. I'm not sure if that has any impact on number of regens generated, but could be worth checking

Thanks for the point on tactics; I've found this years FM absolutely impossible to put together a good tactic for, but I've got a good LWB, a good AP, and a good RW, so fingers crossed I can put something together.

Also from Las Palmas our new main striker, which scored in the preseason game 11 goals in 4 games.

A experience center back with Eric Curbelo.

And Francisco Medina joins us after 4 years on loan with us for a bargain.

Last year I did it in Calabria, this year I moved to Portugal. I just went to google and searched for a list of settlements and included them starting from the highest population to the fewest (for you it would be Palermo, Catania, Messina etc). To be fair you can exclude some of the smaller villages Sicily is filled with, worst case scenario you will miss a couple of players.

Didnt get embarrassed at Camp Nuo, a surprise win vs Bilbao, where our keeper got an 7,7 rating.

I wanted to beat Girona and we did it, despited playing 30 mins with only 10 men.

The road to 40 points lookin good.
