And in the little info I could find, they state that "FK Gariunai is the protector of the Gariunai market". The market is the biggest in Lithuania. I wanted another go at a nation people rarely manage in, and this time I decided to go with Lithuania. I have started my save in the Sunday Football League Ergo C Division, the seventh tier of Lithuanian football! There is no particular reason I went with FK Gariunai Vilnius, other than that I like their kit! My aim for this save is to go all the way to the top of the Lithuanian football, and develop a lot of good players along the way. Hopefully boosting the national team, so that they hopefully can make it to a Euro Championship or a World Cup! I will not be signing any players that has not come through our youth system. I may sign players that has left the club. Facilities We share our home ground with a lot of other teams, 21 to be exact! Not much to see here. Hopefully in a few years there will be a lot of names added. Manager Here is the leagues I have loaded. I have also added every single league in Europe as "view only". Thanks to Weiry for the DB! You can get it HERE. Just forget the Honningsvåg save, it never happened. Turns out we could not get promoted from the league we were in. My mistake. The media has predicted us all the way up in the fourth position. The board however want a mid table finish, and with the squad we have at the moment that is more likely. Squad We have three very good players, but other than we're very weak. Another thing is that three out of four best players like the left side of the defence best. Key Players U19 Squad No one really stands out here, everyone has 5* pot. We could barely keep up with the season ticket sale. I thought that we played each of the teams twice, but it turns out we're only facing each team one time. We started the league with a defeat, and after we drew the second game I was a bit worried that the media had seriously overestimated us, but we turned it around. We're currently sitting second in the league, two points behind FK Imperialas Vilnius and the only spot that gives promotion. PoTS so far I feared that offensive players just was not good enough, but Paulauskas has proved me wrong with 10 goals and five assists in 11 games in the league! Only three clean sheets over the course of the season though, that is one thing we should get better at. The board wants us to gain promotion to the next league within the two next seasons. Not the easiest job in the world. We got knocked out of the cup by a team that plays in the second tier. A 1-4 defeat against them was not so bad to be honest. PoTS It had to be Arminas Paulauskas. I have no idea what happened in the Katastrofa game, but we got trashed. One other thing to note is that Granitas C currently sits above their B team, and it could even go so far as the B team going down at the end of the season! PoTS so far goes to Aivaras Vestartas. Especially after we upgraded the youth coaching last season. Every single player has 5* pot, no one really stands out in a good way. Except for Paul Barker, as he is Swedish! Not really a swedish name though. Best players according to CA. *EDIT* I just realised I tagged all the players wrong. It should be (YP02) instead of 01... It's fixed in my save though. It was a very good season, and in the end we won the league with a 12 point gap down to the second place. One thing that's a bit annoying is that we lost four games, that in itself is not that badm but the those four defeats came against two teams! In the Lithuanian cup we got knocked out by Zalgiris B, the team that won the second tier in Lithuania. Zalgiris won the top league! In the SFL taurė we got all the way to the final, only to lose it against Marijampole City. They won the league two levels above us. A very close battle against Ernestad Paulauskas and Aivaras Vestartas! In my opinion this was the right order. Squad Key Players The first season he was not as good as his rating suggested, but he was great last season. Hopefully he'll continue this year. The U19 player that has grown the most so far in the save, and is one of the first players to be picked. Another player that has grown a lot at the left side of the midfield. Warg92 Posted December 15, 2019 Author Share Posted December 15, 2019 Mid Season 2021 This has basically been a copy of our pre season games! We played ten games and won eight, one draw and lost one. In the league we have played 11 games, won nine, one draw and one loss! We have scored a lot of goals in the league, and that is thanks to our striker Ernestas Paulauskas (YP01d). He has 16 goals in 11 games! Youth Intake Preview If I could decide myself what I wanted to come through the next youth intake I would say a new GK, and maybe another striker. Almost every single player in this youth intake is good enough for the starting XI. I got myself a new striker, and even though he "only" has 1.5* CA, the keeper is better than our current one. One other thing avout this guy is his penalty taking. It's 10 and one of, if not the, best penalty taker at the club! *EDIT* He IS the best penalty taker at the club! I image it being like this until we reach the league where the teams are semi-pro. We had no problems in the league, and ended up winning it with a 11 point gap, even if we had two bad games at the end of the season. We got knocked out the first round of the Lithuanian Cup. And only made it to the Quarter Final in the SFL Taure. That was our last chance at winning it, as it's only for the teams in the "Amateur" league. There PoTS Best XI 2021 Best Overall XI This happened just after the season ended. And the first thing I did was to ask for more youth upgrades. Every time they have predicted us in the top half, we have won the league, so hopefully that happens this time as well! Squad The biggest problem going in to this season is that there is a 25 player registration limit. And with so many players with similar ability, it's kinda hard to chose a squad. One thing to note is that one of my key players last year, Eimanatas Baranauskas, was rated 4* going in to the last season. Now he's only a 2*. That shows the quality (I use that term loosely) the new boys added. Key Players I can't really say that he looks that good. Our best rated player these last three seasons is still rates as one of our best even after the new players arrived! LM was one of our best positions last year, this guy should boost that even more. But in the end, it's the points that matter, and we're only three points behind the leader. The first place does not guarantee promotion. There are four groups in this tier, and every group winner meets for a chance to get promoted. PoTS so far goes to Ernestas Paulauskas. He scored a lot of goals for us last season, and even if we got got a better player in terms of CA, this guy scores the most goals. The players that came through this year is so good that they turned our current best player from a 5* CA to a 3* CA! It's fair to say that we have our new CB pairing, and even a new starting RB. The main drawback with Rolandas Juskas is his height. But he is one of the strongest players that we have produced. First I thought Tomas and Rolandas were brothers, but that's not the case. We ruined our chance for promotion with a little drop in form in September/October, and even lost against the worst team in the league. With the new players that joined us after the last youth intake I believe we can at least win the league next season! I said after last season that it was our last chance at winning the SFL taurè, turns out I was wrong, as we're still in it. And we get at least one more shot at it next season. We got knocked out of the Lithuanian cup by last years cup finalist Kauno Zalgiris. There could only be one winner of the PoTS award this year as well. 26 goals and 6 assists in 22 league games says it all really! Other than that we had some good games I believe we will finish as leauge winners this season! The nine best players in terms of CA is from the last youth intake. Key Players The Juska brothers will be key to us winning the league. They're not brothers, but both of them came through at the same time, that makes them brothers I also cleaned up in the squad. At least we're first at the mid way point this time. PoTS so far. Yet again, Ernestas Paulauskas is our best player, even though he should not be good enough. I don't believe the weather in Lithuania is THAT bad! We won the SFL Taurè this year! And scored a lot of goals along the way. For the fourth time in a row Ernestas Paulauskas win the PoTS award. He's the worst player in the starting XI at this time, but if he continues with this goalscoring he'll keep his place! The league we're in now has one semi-pro team, and in the tier above 15 out of 16 teams are semi-pro (last one is pro). So if/when we go up I think we will turn semi-pro. Even if we have lost three games out of the last five. The only game we deserved to lost was against Atmosfera, the two other games were tight! Warg92 Posted December 20, 2019 Author Share Posted December 20, 2019 End of the 2024 Season The first season in the third tier of Lithuanian was very good, and we ended the season as number three, only two points behind the second team. Two bad months in July and October ruined the chances for promotion. The main reason we have some bad games is the cover in the team. Our starting XI is pretty good, but other than that we're not. Next year we should be fighting for the first place all the way in. A quick exit from the cup as well. Nothing new here. Ernestas Paulauskas wins the PoTS yet again. That is the fifth in a row. He has won the last four PoTS with 78, 78, 76 and now 78 percent of the votes! And even though he is our worst player in terms of CA and PA he'll keep his place! He goes to one of the best team in Lithuania, and I think that shows that the last youth players we have been getting is starting to be decent prospects. It is very close though, and we have to keep up this good form to win promotion. We are much better with the defending part than we have been the last few year, and one of those reasons is our new GK. Our best player over the last seasons Ernestas Paulauskas (YP01d) has been injured for 3 months, and have just returned and played four games. In those four games he has three goals. He has also helped us with three scored goals. Another player transfered to Sampdoria. And as I said when Aurimas Vasiliauskas (YP05f) joined them last season, he just got released by them, and I guess he will retire soon. I doubt we will keep hold of Edgaras Jankauskas (YP06a) for a long time and then the position will be open. A new player for us in the CM position. We lost our only LB to a broken leg (My fault as I forgot to register another LB) against Riteriai B, and I thought we would struggle after that, but we almost played better! And for the first time in the save we had a game without rain/snow. The cup run was over quickly this year. But we played one of our best games against Kauno Zalgiris, and almost beat them in the end. One thing to note is that Edgaras Jankauskas (YP06a), our GK, finished as the player with the second most goals for us! For the first time in six years there is a new player voted as the PoTS. Best XI 2025 Best Overall XI And with the promotion this happened There are some positive, and some negative thing about this.
