matthewgoodfield
Hi I have been trying to get Arsenal to play - free flowing football , with the wingers crossing and cutting inside . Here we go Defence Clichy Gallas Toure Sagna I set the full backs to : Run With Ball often Forward Runs on - Ma Mentaility - Nomral Both of the CB are set to man marking depending on other teams formation . Midfield Diaby Fabergas Walcott Nasri This is the hardest part of the team to get right Diaby needs to be very defensive , with no forward runs , lots of through balls , closing down just around his area. Fabergas - The heart of the team - Very High Creative Freedom - 2 Notches above normal for mentality . High through balls , no crossing . Walcott and Nasri -They both have 3 free role on , and max creative freedom . I set Walcott to cross medium while nasri was set no to cross . Both Max on Through balls . Forward Runs on Max The wingers just play in MR and ML not AMR and AML Strikers Van Persie - He is very much the linking player between midfield and attack , I have him on high creative freedom , and free role can be used NOT TESTED . But I have him on no forward runs , so he can stay in a certain position . Max on through balls - he has 2 notches above normal for mentality . Adebayor - Mentaility is 3 bars above Van Persie because Adebayor is the fox in the box in a way , HOLD UP THE BALL IS ON . But if it was Vela or EDUARDO I would turn it off , and make Van Persie hold the ball up . Forward runs on max , and run with ball on max This Tactic will work if you give it time As the full backs are very attacking it creates space in the middle for the wingers to cut it , and free roam . Van Persie is very important in this tactic as he helps link the play . If you want to use a more clinical striker u can just change Van Persie to hold up the ball , and take it off the other striker . This is the complete formation Clichy Toure Galas Sagna Diaby Nasri Fabergas Walcott Vanperise - The link player Adebayoyr - The Goal scorer who can hold up the ball well , can be replaced with VELA/EDUARO Thanks

stokes_83
why would set run with ball max and then set hold up ball with Adebayor? Don't they contradict each other?

I do get annoyed that they make the extra pass too often, but hey, that's Arsenal for ya.
pleming
Also, I should note that I've also used it with Crewe and just unticked all the free rolers, unless their creativity and decision making are 12's... worked well there. When the demo ran out, Crewe was 2 points from the playoff zone.
lord raffles
Im also playing with crewe but im struggling what formation is this?
pleming
It's a 442 I started with Arsenal but wanted to test with a lesser squad. The instructions are two posts above yours... Good luck. I actually get Billy Jones in the mix in the box a lot with this...

pleming
sorry- my way of differentiating the two strikers based on role.
matthewgoodfield
Hi Thanks for the large resposne Pleming - Are your wingers set to free role or not , and how do you score most of your goals . Most of mine are through clichy and sagna , crosses in the box . With Adebayor getting on the end of them I will try and set my wingers to tackle easy it might have more of a effect . Also what is the mentality difference between the two strikers . I have Van Persie - 2 notches from the middle to the right and adebayor 5 notches from the middle to the right Thanks
pleming
I have both wingers to free with arsenal... my goals are coming from the fb's as well, getting balls into the strikers... but the strikers haven't been shy about knocking it back to a waiting midfielder (the wingers tend to go into the 6y box often) for a strike. I have the linking man up front at the team's mentality, which is +6, and the attacking striker (adebayor) set to max. I think it's a difference of 2. matthewgoodfield
Do you set the linking forward to free role

pleming
goodfield: I don't but I think you could. Couldn't hurt, especially with Van Persie. Lower league teams, not so much though. Moj: I did in another thread... http://www.mediafire.com/?sharekey=b...db6fb9a8902bda
breaker
I've been going great with crossing from DR/L and MR/L to target men in the form of Adebayor, VP, and Cesc. Scoring a trillion!
the pernambucano of footba
I've been going great with crossing from DR/L and MR/L to target men in the form of Adebayor, VP, and Cesc. Scoring a trillion! how do u use 3 players as target men, i thought u had to list them in order of who you want to be them, and also are you using the tactics shown on this thread as they dont say anything about having target man box clicked? im enjoying the football my team are playing yet im scoring the majority of my goals from dead ball situations
the pernambucano of footba
also pleming: do you use the target man preset setting for the linking foward and edit from there?
