Star rating, what affects it?

So I got a new laptop, a good one I'd say, i7-8750H 8GB ram and GeForce®GTX 1060.

Better specs than my previous laptop, but when I load FM20 up and select the same setup as my last laptop, 8 leagues playable, 4 on view only the new laptop gives me 4 star processing speed whereas my old laptop was slightly better at 4 and a half stars

Does the game take in to consideration the graphics you have loaded when setting up a new game? If I remove say player faces from the graphics folder will that increase the star rating?
