TerminalPortugal
Alania Vladikavkaz (March 2021) I am struggling to explain this month. There is no other for it but utter ****. Perhaps it is the new players need a little more blending in, but we have been atrocious. Beyond that if we look at this whole season, our away form is abysmal. I guess we have achieved what we needed to in getting to the 40 point mark and really I have no reason to expect any more from the players but losing is one thing, losing 6-1 to ****** Armavir is completely another. We drop to 7th place and really our playoff hopes really are hanging by a thread I would say at this stage, there is still plenty of the season to go, but I can see us going on a bad run at the start of the next month, I hope I am wrong but we shall see. TerminalPortugal
Rubin Kazan unexpectedly sacked their manager about a month ago and they now approach us for an interview to potentially take the job their, they are very much in the promotion hunt so if they come back offering me the job it would be difficult to turn them down. TerminalPortugal
Alania Vladikavkaz (April 2021) April has been a surprisingly fantastic month for us as we started with two unexpected wins up against Rotor Volgograd and Rubin Kazan. The Rotor was particularly surprising considering how well they are doing in the league and how poor our away form has been all season. If we wanted to push to the end for the promotion places this was exactly the kind of form we needed to display. We sit in 5th place and just a point outside of the playoff places. There are still six games to go for us, so anything could happen. I still have a feeling we will end up falling short, but I am very happy that we are track to be in the top 7 this season, which would be great achievement for us. TerminalPortugal
Alania Vladikavkaz (Early May 2021) I'm coming back with the first part of the month as the complexion of the league starts to shape up. We have hit form at exactly the wright moment as we beat promotion hopefuls Sochi and then go to Mordoviya and Baltika Kaliningrad and get wins to give us a great chance. At this point with the top teams having played 35 games and with three games to go, we are in the driving seat, at this stage we could even win the Russian Professional League title which would be an absolutely amazing turn of events. We really now need to maintain this form, any slip up are going to cost us promotion, I think that much is pretty clear.
TerminalPortugal
Alania Vladikavkaz (Late May 2021) Well we made it as hard as possible, but in the end the win at Tom Tomsk was enough to secure promotion, but not the title. Unbelievably at the time of beating Tom Tomsk, Rotor still had another game to play to potentially with the Russian Professional League title, which was only played several days later. They played Tambov and they lost at home on the final day to hand us the Russian Professional League title. So the most remarkable march to the title, the most unexpected victory, but we did it, and we will be playing in Russian Premier League as Russian Professional League champions next season. In the end the win against Tom Tomsk was the difference between being champions and not qualifying for the playoffs. In the end we are promoted as champions and Rotor Volgograd take the other automatic promotion place. Rubin Kazan and Nishny Novgorod will have to play in the playoff to see who gets promoted. At the other end of the table Dolgoprudny, Tyumen, Sibir, Fakel and Mordoviya are relegated from the league. ALANIA VLADIKAVKAZ WIN THE RUSSIAN PROFESSIONAL LEAGUE!!! TerminalPortugal
Career Summary 2021 League Changes Only Russia and Scotland suffered attrition at the end of this season and Russia is now on the worst percentage of 48%, however we are managing in Russia at the moment so even if it reaches 100% it will not be replaced until we leave the country for another job or become unemployed. TerminalPortugal
The club chairman is going to call it a day, so presume that the takeover is even more likely now.
TerminalPortugal
Takeover complete but no investment for the club. We had a crash so this technically has not yet been completed yet, taking a lot longer this time around and we are under transfer embargo.
TerminalPortugal
Takeover part 2, same result, apart from it took a hell of a lot longer.
TerminalPortugal
First deal of the summer transfer window is to bring young Croatian midfielder Zeljko Soldo from NK Dugopolje on a free transfer. The central midfield and defensive midfield spots are concerning this year, so we need reinforcements and I hope Zeljko will really help in this position.
TerminalPortugal
The odds are out and we predicted to finish bottom of the table. In previous seasons we completely defied the odds, however this season I feel will be a different proposition, the teams at the top and the middle of the table are orders of magnitude better than us, we still pretty much have a 2nd Division side in terms of quality and it is not something I can recitify in one transfer window. We may be able to duck and dive and perhaps survive this season, but even that would be a great achievement.
TerminalPortugal
Second signing of the summer is Slovenian defender Dominik Ivkic from Fuzinar. We needed defensive improvements, it was our achilles heel all last season, and we cannot afford to go into the new season against better attacks with a defensive like we have. Dominik will certainly help, and he costs us £18k to bring in from Slovenia.
TerminalPortugal
If we don't want to concede goals we also have to consider the goalkeeping spot so we bring another Slovenian in 23 year old Zan Hrastnik, who again is a much better keeper than what we have available, he will certainly help us our defensively. TerminalPortugal
Alexey Burenkov was on loan from Avangard Kursk for the end of last season and impressed, and I feel he can offer us plenty on that right wing spot, so we bring him in again for another season long loan. TerminalPortugal
Alania Vladikavkaz (Pre-season 2021) The pre-season has gone well, as we pick up wins in all our games, including a good win against league rival Rubin Kazan whom were promoted along with us, that should give us some confidence going into the new season.
TerminalPortugal
Another signing and this time we bring in striker Amadou Soumah to improve our front line and competition for places. He comes in from French lower league side Entente SSG for £20k. The Guinean just has a certain quality in dribbling that we do not possess and I expect him to link up the play well.
TerminalPortugal
Another signing as we continue to reinforce our side in Serbian right back Marko Mirkailo from Temnic for £20k. It's a problem area for us at this level so Marko will be an automatic starter for us.
TerminalPortugal
Alania Vladikavkaz (July 2021) Only one fixture for us this month in the league as we have the season opener welcoming Lokomotiv Moscow to the Dinamo. I am very happy with the performance as we manage to secure our first point of the season against what I expect to be a very competitive side in Lokomotiv Moscow this season. We sit 9th in the table after the first game, does not mean much at this stage.
TerminalPortugal
Vladislav Myzgin leaves us to join Legion Makhachkala for £34.5k. Considering he was well down the pecking order and starting to complain, it is a very good move and we picked him up on a free transfer so for us that is a decent piece of business for the 25 year old.
TerminalPortugal
We needed a central midfielder and there were not really any superb stand out targets but Czech midfielder Frantisek Malar helps us a fair bit. he signs for £50k from 1.SC Znojmo. TerminalPortugal
Alania Vladikavkaz (August 2021) It's been a decent month for us. We managed an amazing 3-1 away win against Ural Yekaterinaburg in our first away game to give us our first win of the season, and then performed extremely well against Spartak Moscow, narrowly losing the game 3-2. The next two away games were winnable in my view but despite performing well enough we only managed a point. We had another very memorable win against Dynamo Moscow at home as we controlled the game and came out 3-0 winners, before an abberant result away to Rotor Volgograd, where I would say we were arguably the better side but lost the game 5-1. Again away form in concerning, despite the win in Yekaterinaburg. We sit 8th in the table which I will take all day long, and we are 4 point ahead of the relegation places. If we can maintain 8th all season long I will be very happy indeed.

TerminalPortugal
Alania Vladikavkaz (Kubok Rossii 5th Round vs Chernomorets - September) We get past Chernomorets thanks to two goals from young sensation Sergey Yeremenko.

TerminalPortugal
Alania Vladikavkaz (September 2021) September has been a short month of fixtures and I feel we really missed out against Rubin Kazan, we really did not turn up during the game and ended up losing at home 3-2. We did get through in the cup as was expected, and then the draw away to Arsenal Tula is not bad at all. All in all not bad, just disappointed with the Rubin fixture. We are being slowly dragged into a relegation battle and if we want to avoid it we really need to start winning a few more games against the teams we have a good chance against. I expect Dynamo Moscow to improve and get out of their early season predicament so we need to very careful now, we sit 11th after 9 games. Also worth noting that Akhmat have a lot of games in hand over us so presuming they get 5 points out of their 4 games in hand over us they will leapfrog us as well. We need to be careful. TerminalPortugal
Alania Vladikavkaz (Kubok Rossii 6th Round vs Zenit St Petersburg - October) We played well but our lack of quality was telling as Zenit knock us out of the Kubok Rossii. TerminalPortugal
Alania Vladikavkaz (October 2021) You could say it has been a bad month, but really there is nothing we can really do about it, we simply are not good enough to be in this division and it is really the only fact. We have played quite well in many of the games but our defense is porous, and we do not have the quality to outscore sides. I think the worst result was clearly the 7-1 loss to Ufa, we are hopeless on the road and they may have been bottom, but only a few seasons ago they won the league, every team in this division is better than us and as the season has gone on it has become clear we need a miracle to stay up this season, so really at this stage I am already thinking about next season and what we may need to to do to get back up. We have our early season over-performance for sitting in 13th, but we are soon going to be adrift of the teams we are chasing unless we can pick up some wins and they have been very hard to come by. TerminalPortugal
Alania Vladikavkaz (November 2021) November went as expected with losses across the board in three consecutive away games, four if you count last month. Not sure who on earth plans this stuff but this is pretty stupid to have a team play away all month. Anyway moaning over, we expected to lose and we did, the only game we did anything in was the Akhmat Grozny game where I think we can be a little bit annoyed we didn't get anything out of the game since we were definately a match for them. Relegation looks pretty likely now, we are not good enough for this division.

TerminalPortugal
Well this is a bit of a curveball. Saint Mirren in Scotland, whom are having a torrid season, appear to be willing to potentially consider us for their manager's job. Someone in Scotland appears to be have been keeping an eye on Russian football. We will attend even if to just sate my curiosity.

TerminalPortugal
The board called us in because we were asked by the press about the vacant FC Ufa job and we declared that we may be interested, this seems to have annoyed them and we were very close to be sacking in end having to grovel to them. We will remember this little Alexandr and Alania! We will remember!

TerminalPortugal
Alania Vladikavkaz (December 2021) The last month before the winter break and I was looking at these fixtures, specifically Yenisey and Ural as fixtures that we needed to win to even have a shot at making any kind of come back. We lost them both with a wimper. The performances have gone, the morale has gone there is going to be no breaking this slump I feel. We have lost 11 straight matches and the last time we won in the league was the 22nd August. There is not really a lot more to say, we go away for the winter break and I guess we may be able to find some way to winning during that period, but I do feel we have no chance now. We have an absolute mountain to climb now, we are 9 points from Krylja Sovetov in the last safe spot and I really can't see us getting 9 more points this season, let alone any more that would be required to stay up. TerminalPortugal
Dynamo Moscow approach for an interview. They are in trouble this season, so the job would not be easy, but considering their size I think it is fair to say I would take the job, and the Alania board pissed me off. We attend the interview. TerminalPortugal
Dynamo Moscow - 2021 In the end Dynamo Moscow came back to us to offer us the job and we were never going to turn them down, as this was an opportunity to manage one Russia's traditional big clubs. Clearly they are in relegation trouble and we know all about that this season with Alania, but I think Dynamo Moscow is not a lost cause whereas with Alania we were pretty much down already. I think we can come in and save this club from the drop. There was a relegation recently in Dynamo's history but they bounced back at the first attempt, generally speaking it has been mid to lower table finishes for the club and we are here to aim to improve that. The club actually has an incredibly bare trophy cabinet considering their history, only one Russian Professional League title and one Russian Cup to show for. The club is sponsored and owned by Russian bank VTB and sport the traditional army blue shirts that they are famous for.] The Central Stadium Dinamo is absolutely state of the art, although it is owned by the local council. As you can see the journey from Vladkavkaz to Moscow is a rather long one, taken about a whole day in the car if not realistically two days considering the distance. The wonderful capital of Russia, Moscow, where we will now call home for the forseeable future. This the squad, there appears to be an overadundance of midfield talent in the centre of the park for Dynamo. I am pretty happy with the team, they have been underperforming but they should be doing better and I think we can be catalyst to get them playing winning football. TerminalPortugal
Dynamo Moscow (Youth Intake 2022) There are few players with good potential but the standout player looks to be Dmitry Belenkov a deep lying playmaker. TerminalPortugal
Dynamo Moscow (Kubok Rossii Quarter Final Second Leg vs Zenit St Petersburg (First Leg: Zenit St Petersburg 2-1 Dynamo Moscow) - February) Our first competitive game in charge of Dynamo Moscow ends in defeat as we bow out of the Kubok Rossii. We had a lot to do as the club had lost to Zenit away 2-1 and despite the game being pretty even Zenit took their chances and we only took one of ours. I am not too disheartened I think we will improve as time goes on. We lose on aggregate 4-2 and Zenit advance to the semi final.
TerminalPortugal
Dynamo Moscow (Winter Break Friendlies 2022) We ended up playing quite a number of friendlies for a variety of reasons, firstly to get match fitness up after a long break, secondly so that the team became comfortable playing in my 4-1-3-2 system, thirdly so that we could get a good look at the players and understand what our best team might be, and finally to remind the players what winning feels like. In the end it was a good set of winter break friendlies and I feel confident that we are ready for league football to resume.
