Alania Vladikavkaz (August 2019)

595c32630a1b86c56b0cfa926fa9600a.png

This month has seen us continue our good form, generally home form has been key to our good overall form, we have found it harder on the road, but I am very happy with the effort from the boys over the last few weeks. We did lose away to Spartak Nalchik, which was expected, and a heavy 4-1 win to rivals Spartak Vladkavikaz was a little disappointing if not unexpected, but we just keep grinding out results elsewhere and that is what we need to keep doing. I think already thoughts of relegation can more less be dismissed.

We are still top of the league, with Chernomorets in 2nd place with a game in hand.

Another month in the books and another great month for us, it has been by small margins but we have been able to find plenty of wins, and against some of the better sides in the division in Chernomorets and Legion Makhachkala. We look very good value at the moment, as we continue to the defy the odds.

We have opened up a 5 point lead at the top of the table, just a game from the half way mark. Spartak Nalchik and Volgar Astrakhan are the nearest challengers as Spartak Vladikavkaz and Legion Makhachkala fall away a little bit.

We continue to put together the performances and results to maintain this very unexpected shot at the 2. Division title. We have been very good this month and found some defensive consistency that had been missing most of the season and are still getting to goals up front.

0f7a963e5efe2a83240809eaaac30610.png

It's a 3 point gap to Spartak Nalchik, who have been in very good form as they attempt to chase us down. We are both leaving the rest of the division behind as it shapes up into a two horse race for the title.

Alania Vladikavkaz (November 2019)

November was always going to a crunch month for us as we faced 2nd place Spartak Nalchik and despite the severity of the game, we sent a real statement to anyone who was still doubting us as we took Spartak apart winning 5-2 in the end as we rubber stamped our title procession. It was imporant we continued to follow up with the two remaining games before the winter break and we got two comfortable wins against Mashuk and Krasnodar-2. We look very good now.

994924f0a7e3ba3a9d669c5367c3ac78.png

It's now an 8 point gap to Spartak Nalchik after our victory against them and with 8 games to go the sensible money should realistically now be on us to lift the title.

The scouts have been building up a lot of intel in Russia for potential players we can sign and I deem Nikita Kanavin a very good purchase for us, so we swoop for him, signing him from Prialit. The 22 year old is a good age and probably the best left winger we would have at the club, so it was a no brainer really.

The youth intake for Alania is upon and there is only one name that we can talk Alan Zuraev is not only a ready for first team action but potentially at the age of 15, one of the best players at our club right now. He will be joining up with the first team as soon as possible.

Alania Vladikavkaz (Winter Break Friendlies 2019/20)

1641ed1179df32c45b72317465fd6e99.png

We decide again this season to play out friendlies all throughout the winter break to keep match fitness as best as possible up in the squad, we mostly faced Georgian opposition and to be honest we were excellent throughout, conceding only once in 8 games and scoring 49 in the process. I think the boys are reading for the recommencement of the league season and hopefully we can now push to the finish line.

We have an invite for an interview at Chaika Peschanokopskoe, they are in the same division as us and sit 7th, Clearly there would be no reason to move to them since we are 1st and look good to win the league this season, so I will be rejecting the interview offer.

Alania Vladikavkaz (March 2020)

61cb8d76df4bceaac8dc9a98795981ed.png

March is short month for league fixtures, we faced bottom of the table Druzhba Maikop and I still have no idea how we did not win, but we could not find the net and the game ended 0-0, we did recover however to beat SKA Rostov at home and continue our march toward the title.

77d8b8010b878fcb988a7bafdc97e815.png

With six games left we are still 8 points clear of Spartak Nalchik, and realistically our form would have to drop off a cliff for us to be denied now. The title should be ours, I think we probably need two wins out of the final games to guarantee it.

Alania Vladikavkaz (April 2020)

d1d8095e259c24b37571762a1849d96b.png

Well April has been an absolutely nightmare month as we faced two tough games to start in Spartak Vladikavkaz and Chernomorets in the first two games away and lost them, and I think this knocked morale, perhaps the pressure started to tell. We had a man sent off against Biolog and despite taking the lead twice we could not hold and ended up drawing 4-4, we then also drew to Anghust, and the complexion of the whole thing has changed, we are now in real danger of blowing the league title now.

82f5750300d22f933e809230182d58bd.png

Spartak Nalchik are now 3 points behind and with a game in hand. We are actually very lucky as they drew to Druzhba during our collapse, so it could have been much worse. This could go down to a tiebreaker, the first tiebreaker is games won and at this time if they win, we would be tied on 16 wins, then to head to head which favours us by a goal, due to our 5-2 win at home in contrast to our 4-2 win at their ground, but we really now have to win our last two remaining games and they will not be easy at all up against Legion Makhachkala and Chaika.

Another job interview and I really had to think about this one from SKA Khabarovsk as they are in the division above and although they are not having the best season ever they are in the division above and are a bigger club. But in the end I decided to wait and see if we could get with Alania. If we can't go up this season, then I am sure there will be other job offers from this calibre of club in the future.

15d7038f965e673aa41654fc565778e0.png

I am hugely relieved after our extremely poor April that we turned things round and won the two remaining games. In the end we did not need to win the final game of the season as Spartak Nalchik lost the final game of the season, when they needed to better our result. We are promoted and in the end I think it is very much deserved and hugely unexpected.

496027f7bf93c1a4baac75713fcd028f.png

The final league table sees us win by three point. Considering that we had an 8 point lead you can see how much we struggled towards the end but it doesn't matter anymore as we have lifted the 2.Division - South title.

There is no doubt about the quality of Odintsov at the club in terms of putting the ball in the back of the net but again we need more depth so Vladislav Myzgin would definately add that. We bring him in from Rotor Vologograd-2. He will be joining the club when his contract expires on the 1st July 2020.

Pre-season went well for the team as we blooded some of the new players into the team and managed to win all out games. We should be ready for the season ahead although we know we will be stepping up in class and we need to start well.

I am absolutely delighted by how we have started the league season, the defense has been very shaky, but we have been able to score plenty of goals up front. Hopefully we can continue this run of form for a good while.

e212f383e3d52d960ff5e1c6a09569e9.png

The league table looks extremely rosy if you are an Alania Vladikavkaz fan with ourselves top of the league with a perfect record after 3 games, but it is going to be an extremely long season.

PS: Not sure the name of the tournament as Wtoroj diwizion is correct, but I think that is an issue with the db I am using.

is your club professional now?

Great work btw

Yeah, we are now, although I can't remember getting a message about it (may have missed it). I only noticed when offering contracts defaulted to full time contracts for players. We still a few players that are non-contract, but over time they will be offered a contract or released.

The board go above my head to accept an offer from Rubin Kazan for Alan Zuraev, which I am pretty furious about. In fairness to Zuraev he did not kick up a fuss when we rejected the first five bids for him from Rubin Kazan. The deal could go up to £100k, but I think we have undersold him, if we got to the Premier League we could demand a much better fee. Disappointing.

We have clearly had issue in defense and there is no way to sugar coat it we need better players in those positions, so when I saw that Stepan Rebenko was available for £3k and we had the funds it was a no brainer for me to bring him in. He joins us from Mashuk.

With the sale of Alan Zuraev we needed someone to understudy at left back, there were not really any great targets out there so we plump for the value option and bring in young full-back Roman Subbotin to cover the left back spot. He has a lot of potential so, this is not a transfer that is just a panic buy and he will be out the door as soon as he came in, if he can apply himself he can improve a lot over the coming seasons.

We have done very well in August, we knew that the winning streak was not going to continue forever, but i though our unbeaten streak was going to fall by the wayside earlier than it did. The Khimki game was disappointing because we led that game 4-1 at halftime so to end up drawing was disappointing. We did get through in the cup, and even though we suffered a heavy loss to Rubin Kazan, that was definately expected, as they are cut above for this division. I think we can be happy with the month, remember we are expected to finish bottom of the league so to display promotion form so far is very pleasing.

6e0b54010e6d9afc0f98b7db6c924eda.png

We sit in third place at the moment in the first playoff spot. Rubin Kazan are top which is definately expected considering the talent they possess. If we can string together another decent month, I think we can feel safe that we will reach the objective of staying up this season.

Alania Vladikavkaz (September 2020)

a184fbc782142f0ecf03184aef81f59b.png

Results wise September has been a bad month for us, performance wise we have been decent and have not really had the rub of the green, perhaps the strikeforce can take a little blame as we failed to score in three of the six games this month. The games against Rotor, Sochi, and Nizhniy Novgorod were always going to be tough as these sides are going for promotion and we probably are not there yet this season. We needed the win against Baltika Kaliningrad to restore a little bit of stability going into next month.

511c3e1326e5eee3c6f152e058f9a2f1.png

Surprisingly we are just about hanging onto the playoff positions, I don't expect to remain there, we need to get to somewhere around the 40 point mark this season and then I can stop looking over my shoulder at how far away the relegation places are. Certainly it has been a tough month for us, so to still be around the playoff places suits me just fine.

29c75b188152cd55be3b7ae62c51ff83.png

It has been another incredibly tough month for us. we have found it tough on the road and to be honest Tom Tomsk are just a better all round team that us. We did pick up wins against Sibir Novosibirsk and Mordoviya which at least is something in the month, but in some of these games we were very much dominated. I think we can see that most teams in this division are a cut above us, so to even stay up this season would be a rather big achievement if you ask me.

3e01d59a70b39278bb71b3d329754668.png

We have now moved outside the playoff place and lie 6th. We are 5 points off the playoffs, and realistically we can forget about competing for that as it just ain't going to happen. However we do now have 30 points at the half way point of the league, so another 10 points and I would expect us to be safe this season. That is clearly the target now, and then we can think about what we may be able to do for the remainder of the season.

6592e1ba764ea346345b3a61eb9ef36d.png

We have had a stellar month. It was a month that I looked and thought we could do well, all these teams apart from Tambov are down the wrong end of the table and with three home games amongst them there was plenty to go after. We got four wins and to be honest I was disappointed we got nothing in Voronezh against Fakel, as they are right in the middle of a relegation dogfight. We now have a long winter break to manage before we come back to the league around March.

43c07408bef838028941241bcacbbf0c.png

We have jumped up to 3rd place which is pretty amazing to me as well past the half way stage we appear to be in a promotion fight, although again I don't think we will be sitting there for very long. We have reached my target of 40 points so I think now relegation should be able to be ruled out at this stage, which considering we were favourites to go down is a great achievement by the boys. Now I guess I would like to finish in the top 7 as I think that would be a superb achievement for us.

The scouting team started bringing me potential loans for the remainder of the season. Since we have a bit of debt at the club now we might need to rely on loans a bit more. Vladimir Zubov looks like a great talent for us and we loan him in Baltika Kaliningrad for the remainder of the season.

We decided to plug a lot friendlies into February just before the league kicks back in in an effort to get the match fitness up. We were rather good, the only loss coming to top division Anji Makhachkala.
