TerminalPortugal
The second piece of business of the summer is to let Guillermo Munoz go to Wolves for £27m.
TerminalPortugal
We bring in our first summer signing and it is Ronael Pierre-Gabriel from Zenit St Petersburg for £15.5m. He is going to compete for the full back position and although he may not look like much again, he has all the necessary stats to succeed. I have actually made a rather big change to my selection and recruitment policy starting from January this year, where I now have a system to judge the players on a year by year basis based on their stats, and Roneal looks good according to my model, I guess it is a bit of a money ball scheme. TerminalPortugal
More moves in what will likely be a busy summer as we sell Adnan Rahimic to Ingolstadt for £4.8m potentially rising to £6m.
TerminalPortugal
Another move by us as we bring in Owen Wijndal from bitter rivals Schalke for £18.5m. He will be competiting with Daniel Osei for the left-back spot this season.
TerminalPortugal
I believe Ivan Freijeiro will be a superb acquisition in time to come as a left footed option up front. He joins from Valencia for £19m.
TerminalPortugal
In my model Asier Moreno is still pretty far from first team football so we let him go our on loan for the season to Lille.
TerminalPortugal
Full-back Chris Evans is pretty far away from my modelled first team therefore I let him go on loan to Wolfsburg to hopefully improve as a player, playing week in, week out.
TerminalPortugal
It's the same thing with Dominik Hickel, he needs to improve in key areas before he is ready for the first team. I let him go out on loan to Augsburg.
TerminalPortugal
I don' think Huseyin Tan will make it at Dortmund, but we cannot secure a permanent move away so he goes for a season to newly promoted Bochum, and you never know if we improves he may suddenly be someone we want to keep. TerminalPortugal
Jorge Rodriguez is not too far away from first team contention, but he is not quite yet ready so he goes back to where we bought him from River Plate in Argentina for a season long loan. TerminalPortugal
We sign another very understated centre back in Boubacar Kamara from Sassuolo for £7.25m. He will help in right centre-back. The scouts don't like him, but we will see how he does.
TerminalPortugal
Third choice keeper playing for Dortmund II leaves for Hoffenheim for £4.5m potentially rising to £5.5m
TerminalPortugal
We bring in Fabrizio Alaztra as a goalkeeper. It is possible I may start him ahead of Kolar, who rates quite badly on my model. He joins from Palermo for £4.3m
TerminalPortugal
Borussia Dortmund (Pre-Season Friendlies 2026) Well pre-season is over and we played some tough sides, as we should the Champions League holders. There were wins all around including, Shakhtar, Lyon, Manchester United, Arsenal, Bordeaux, Santos, Palmeiras, Boca Juniors and Betis. Very happy with the team, the new additions may not look all that and they may not be top of everyone's transfer list but they have come in and done a job, hopefully it continues in the coming season. TerminalPortugal
For the first time since I joined we are favourites for the league this season in the pre-season odds, narrowly beating out Bayern Munich.
TerminalPortugal
Borussia Dortmund (DFL-Supercup vs Bayern Munich) We killed this game off in the first 15 minutes away to Bayern Munich as we produced an efficient display to take home the Supercup.
TerminalPortugal
Borussia Dortmund (UEFA Super Cup vs Real Madrid) We were expecting a tough challenge from Real Madrid but it never materialised as we controlled the game from start to finish and took home the UEFA Super Cup in Hungary. TerminalPortugal
Patrik Besold is never really going to make and does not register on our modelling for first team selection so we send him out on loan, if he plays 20 games for Hamburg, they will have to buy him for £5m. TerminalPortugal
Michael Bollrath was not going to make it Dortmund so we sell him on to Wolfsburg for £3m
TerminalPortugal
Borussia Dortmund (DFB-Pokal 1st Round vs Herkenrath) The first round of the DFB-Pokal comes around and Herkerath are no match for us as we come through 7-0, to advance to the next round.
TerminalPortugal
The draw for the DFB-Pokal 2nd Round has been made and we face Hoffenheim whom are not in 2.Bundesliga after their relegation last season.
TerminalPortugal
The Champions League draw has been made and we are drawn in Group G with AC Milan, Real Sociedad and Dynamo Kyiv. I think it should be a reasonably manageable group for us.
TerminalPortugal
Borussia Dortmund (August 2026) We have started the season very well with two wins from two including what has been often a tough place to go in Mainz. At the moment there is a standoff between myself and Martin Alpisch which happened in the summer when Barcelona came knocking. He has barely kicked a football and it has not really bothered us. I think with the additions we have made we have definately improve the squad as a whole. We top the league after two games. Bayern have already lost a home this season to Augsburg, so we already ahead of them. Wolfsburg and RB Leipzig have also started with perfect records this season. TerminalPortugal
We reach 100 games in charge of Borussia Dortmund.

TerminalPortugal
Borussia Dortmund (Champions League Group G vs Real Sociedad) We get our Champions League campaign off to a winning start as we demolish Real Sociedad 5-2 at home, with a hat-trick from Paulinho to cap off the night. In the other game of the group AC Milan secured a 2-0 win at the San Siro against Dynamo Kyiv.
TerminalPortugal
Borussia Dortmund (Champions League Group G vs Dynamo Kyiv) Substitute Martin Alpisch, currently out of favour with me gets the only goal of the game in Kyiv as we take the spoils in what is a difficult place to visit. Milan and Real Socieded fought out a 1-1 draw in San Sebastian, Spain to give us sole leadership of the group after two fixtures.
TerminalPortugal
Borussia Dortmund (September 2026) We continue to put together a very impressive run of form this season as we sweep all the fixtures in the month to victory. We now lead the Bundesliga by 4 points from Wolfsburg who are having a good season so far. Bayern Munich has not had the best month and lie in 7th place, already 9 points behind us in the league. TerminalPortugal
Borussia Dortmund (Champions League Group G vs AC Milan) We suffer what has to be said is a shock home defeat to AC Milan. Claudio Gomes getting himself certainly did not help matters much, and even then we were by far the better side on the night, but we will have to take it on the chin, we should still qualify from this group. Milan take the leadership of the group. In the other game in the group Real Sociedad secured 3-1 home win against Dynamo Kyiv.
TerminalPortugal
Borussia Dortmund (DFB-Pokal 2nd Round vs Hoffenheim) Alpisch made his first start of the season as I finally forgive him for his indiscretions, and we beat Hoffenheim comfortably 4-0 to reach the 3rd Round of the DFB-Pokal. TerminalPortugal
In the 3rd Round of the DFB-Pokal we will play Koln.
TerminalPortugal
Borussia Dortmund (October 2026) October has proven a little difficult for us as we drop the first points of the season in both the Bundesliga and the Champions League. I still can't really explain how Hamburg won, the common thread across all the games where we have dropped points this month have been sending offs which have hampered us this month. We need to keep 11 men on the field otherwise we are really making things very difficult for ourselves. Still I think we recovered at the end of the month. RB Leipzig are now the team on our tail, three points behind as Wolfsburg fall completely away getting only 1 point in the whole month after having been 2nd at the end of the last month. Bayern Munich have not been too much better this month than the others, they are still 8 points behind, and have still not made any headway on our lead despite us having a pretty poor month results-wise by our standards. The Hamburg defeat ended a 35 game run of not being defeated which is a shame but that is the same as a whole German league season to show how good we have been for about a year now. TerminalPortugal
Borussia Dortmund (Champions League Group G vs AC Milan) A rare mistake from Pierre-Gabrial gave AC Milan the lead, but we got level in the second half. We should probably have won the game but end up with a 1-1 draw. Real Sociedad did very well and got a 2-1 win over Dynamo Kyiv in Kyiv which now means we are level on points and it's getting dangerous with us still needing to go to Spain to play Real Sociedad. AC Milan are in the leadership of the group, this groups outcome is far from over.
TerminalPortugal
Borussia Dortmund (Champions League Group G vs Real Sociedad) We played Martin Alpisch off the left where I think he could be extremely good and he repays us with 2 goals as we beat Real Sociedad 3-0 at the Anoeta and qualify for the next round of the Champions League. In the other game of the group AC Milan beat Dynamo Kyiv 2-0 in Kyiv, which means that if they beat Real Sociedad in their final game they will top the group. Any other result and we have a chance to top the group with a win against Dynamo Kyiv. Regardless of that AC Milan and Dortmund quality from the group and Real Sociedad will drop into the Europa League.
TerminalPortugal
Borussia Dortmund (November 2026) The one black mark against us this month was the draw away to Freiburg, a game we should have won, but elsewhere we have been good and two very dominant wins against Frankfurt and Augsburg. We remain top of the league, 3 points clear of an overperforming Koln side. Bayern Munich have not really improve, they remain in 7th place and are 9 points behind us in first place, they just suffered a 3-0 loss to Koln so things are not going as well as they might have hoped. TerminalPortugal
Borussia Dortmund (Champions League Group G vs Dynamo Kyiv) We expected to win and we provide the expected result running out 5-0 against a poor Dynamo Kyiv side. Freijeiro provided the goods as he got 4 goals in the game to cap off a brilliant performance. AC Milan beat Real Sociedad 2-0 at the San Siro so unfortunately we finish in 2nd place in the group, but we finished last time and we ended up winning the whole thing, so I am not particularly phased. TerminalPortugal
Patrik Besold has been first choice at Hamburg and this has triggered the clause in the loan agreement that will mean Hamburg will pay us £5m and he will join them permanently. TerminalPortugal
Borussia Dortmund (FIFA Club World Cup Semi Final vs Tigres) Tigres provided no threat to us as we completely dominated them from start to finish and won out 3-0 to advance to the final. TerminalPortugal
We will face surprise package Western Sydney Wanderers of Australia who knocked out Flamengo of Brazil in the final. TerminalPortugal
Borussia Dortmund (FIFA Club World Cup Final vs Western Sydney Wanderers) In the end the Club World Cup Final was a one sided affair as we soundly beat Western Sydney Wanders by 3-0 on a night when we were never in trouble. BORUSSIA DORTMUND ARE WORLD CHAMPIONS!!!
TerminalPortugal
Borussia Dortmund (December 2026) We actually have not had the best month as we face two very tough games in Borussia Monchengladbach and Bayern Munich away and lost them both. I feel like we shouldn't have lost either game, but we probably also did not deserve to win the game against Bayern Munich. We did win another trophy as we lifted the Club World Cup in Tunisia to add another trophy to the collection. We have dropped to 2nd place, however Borussia Monchengladbach have played two more games while we were away at the Club World Cup, so it is a false position and they are only one point ahead at this stage. In fact if we win our games in hand we will probably be further ahead in the league that before.

TerminalPortugal
It's a huge move from us as we sell Cristian Romero to Paris St Germain for £62m. The defender has been integral and fits well into the model I am working to with recruitment and player selection but he has been the worst performing centre-back as the other three fit perfectly into the model, so his sale will hopefully allow us to replace him with a perfect player in relation to the model we are working to.
TerminalPortugal
Our replacement for Cristian Romero is very understated but we have done this many times before and we bring in Lucas Ribeiro from Eintracht Frankfurt for £4m.
TerminalPortugal
I have decided to let Martin Alpisch go to Manchester United for £120m. He does not fit the model that well, but I was going to convert him to a left winger where he would have fitted quite well, but the money is good and I can improve the team a lot with it.
TerminalPortugal
The Martin Alpisch transfer to Manchester United broke the German transfer record.
TerminalPortugal
We buy out of favour Ben Godfrey from Crystal Palace for £5.75m, again keeping with our policy. He will play as a right sided centre back, which will mean we have three guys that according to the model I am working to are perfect players for that position.
TerminalPortugal
Our replacement for Martin Alpisch is Italian left footed striker Davide Merola from Frosinone for £30m. He will interchange with Freijeiro for that right sided striker spot.
