I saw you recommended the first one earlier but judging by the amazon reviews it has a very common fault. Will look into the other, thanks.

Wow. Pretty bad news on that one!

Afternoon all,

Im looking for a desktop without a monitor to play fm, i basically want to load as many leagues as possible and to play the games in 3D, i load all the facepacks, kits, logos etc so would prefer a ssd as since i upgraded my laptop to ssd its made it alot faster also i would only use the desktop for fm/browsing/emails etc, my budget would be around £900/£1000

Thanks

Same as you bro, I will upgrade my laptop into a PC specifically for FM. Before I finalize my purchase, I would like to know the experts opinion on this build?

Intel Core i7-8700 (6 Cores, 12 Threads, up to 4.6GHZ)

Asrock B365M Pro4 Motherboard

16GB Klevv Performance 2666mhz (2 8GB)

Zotac RTX 2070 Super

256GB Lexar SSD

1TB Toshiba HDD

650W EVGA GD 80+ Gold

Nexus Evo (White)

Very nice, and will be futureproof for AAA games too.

Is there a alternative to this laptop, roughly same price £500. As seen a lot of reviews recently about it going into recovery boot and it being impossible to re launch, then having to send them back

I would say without a doubt - not at those specs.

I would say it'll run, but it likely wouldn't be spectacularly fast or fluid, on the basis that it's a low powered laptop dual-core processor with very limited cooling in that laptop, so it'll be running, with the sustained loads that FM will throw at it, at its lowest speed most likely, which would be around 3GHz. With it also not having a dedicated graphics card, it will perhaps run 3D at lower graphics levels, but for a smooth experience I'd stick to 2D for matches.

Smurf ,could recommend a laptop that could be useful also for work and study that allows me to run fluid, relatively fast and in HD. Football manager also with other databases, faces and other features also in 3D with medium-large databases and other games like Thunder of war , World of Warships, Fortnite. Thanks for the reply

How many leagues can you go on this pc? But isn't the ghz lower for football managers? Is the speed reduced with the inclusion of new dbs, faces, kits and badges? Hi, let me introduce myself as a new forum user

As many as you like - the more leagues and the larger the database the slower it will run.

You could load all the leauges and it will run smoothly over 1/2 season, but gradually slow down as more data is required to be processed/stored.

You could load 1 league and it will run smoothly for 5 seasons or even 10 seaons or even 20 seasons - and eventually slow down in day to day processing.

Or you could run 3-5 leagues and a medium database and it will run smoothly enough. It could even be 5-10 leagues.

Basically, you will need to decide for yourself how many leagues/divisions and database size loaded that you are happy with the day-to-day progression of the game, and how many seasons in you want to play.

Hi,

I'm thinking about spending anywhere between 800 euro up to 1,5000 euro on a new desktop pc.

I have been using laptops, but would rather invest in a Desktop that'll see me through the next few seasons of FM.

I'd like to be able to load all the leagues, medium database and play them at a reasonably fast pace, but doesn't need to be mega fast.

Graphics aren't a big deal for me, as I've recently returned to playing in 2D Classic. The main thing I want to be able to do is run a large FM save, while switching back and forth between the various different apps ie. Google Chrome, Kindle, and so on.

I picked this one out:  https://www.pcspecialist.co.uk/aio/VanGuard-27/

Can you advise me on this? Or if you can suggest a cheaper option that'll run just as effectively for what I wanna do?

Thank you.

This has i5 and 16gb ram. It's £649, why is it so cheap? I'm tempted to get it, what do you think

https://www.box.co.uk/FX504GD-E4127-ASUS-TUF-Gaming-FX504GD-E4127_2571126.html

It's got low end graphics chip, ram type not listed, missing a hard drive (the 256gb will fill up quick),its not cheap for what your getting similar prices for that spec quite common.

It's pretty decent for that price. It's right around the right price.

If you think it's cheap - then what is your actual budget?

The graphics chip is mid-range, RAM type is DDR4, the 256gb would be ok if it's just FM and browsing internet etc. I agree, an additional hard drive at some point would be required, either internal or external.

I know the RAM is DDR4 but it doesn't list what speed, if this is the case id assume it's the slowest speed.

1050 is low end now a days, it falls below minimum spec for several new games out now.

The Laptop is fine for Football Manager, but answering the original question its not cheap for what your getting.

A quick Google search brings up the same specs for around £50-£100 less with 8gb ram, so roughly around the same value.

@Smurfgives good recommendations wait for his input.

That system was perfectly fine for Football Manager

however I'd pay an extra £100 for something with a 1060 in, if you want to play other games besides Football Manager.

Speed of the RAM would have minimum impact on FM speed.

105 is not low end - it's a mid range graphics card as per the link I showed you that specifically ranks graphics card from high to low.

Yes it's fine for FM.

It's that price because it has 16gb RAM. You can get it cheaper with 8gb RAM.

Spec and price are about normal.

I'm not a massive fan of Medion - but it's good spec.

I'd be inclined towards this

https://www.box.co.uk/5WA67EAABU-HP-Pavilion-Gaming-15-cx0018na_2453614.html

The 1060 is a bit of a waste if it's just for FM though.

But hey it's your money.

I've said in my post, if for anything else other than football manager, gaming wise the 1050 aint enough, 1060 will get by at 1080p.

Agree for Football Manager 1050 is more than enough.

Hi guys,

I've got a budget of approx. £300 - looking for a cheap laptop that will let me play 3D FM2019 with approx. 4 leagues loaded. I'll only be playing FM and no others games.

Which one is the best out of these 5? If you have any other suggestions for around £300, I'd love to hear them. Thank you!

All in one isn't that portable. You can of course bring anything with you.

It's basically the screen and the computer are combined into one unit.

Desktop is your next option - however, this is a unit that will sit on your desk.

You would also need to buy a monitor to go with it - and plug it into the desktop.

A laptop can fold up - it's portable.

That's really the three options.

Desktop gives best value for money - but you would need a dedicated place for it in the house/apartment/where you live.

All in one would be similar, dedicated place for it.

Laptop, you can move around easily enough.
