Nice enough laptop, but the price is awful... it's way overpriced...

Especially considering this has dropped in price recently ish ..:

Im looking to get this model too, just seeing if the price comes down for Black Friday. Could you let me know how you get on with it and how it runs FM?

hi mate,

Well I took the delivery yesterday and I have set it all up and I have been playing FM for pretty much the whole day today and it runs like a dream. Only have 6 leagues loaded and medium database but handles everything I can throw at it presently. 3D works great and I can play on high detail without any problems.

If you have any other questions just ask :)

Any chance you can put a short video up? Showing how fast it goes through and the 3d match engine etc! Cheers

It's not great. I suspect it has no dedicated graphics card either, which will make 3D a bit rubbish.

You can get much better for c.£500

*edit  quoted the wrong post, sorry

How about this one? Most I'll spend tbh.

What would you recommend for £600? Would some that plays 10 leagues and 3D fast?

Im not sure about specific league speed, you're best asking Welshace tbh. Is £600 your absolute maximum?

FM is very processor based, so try to get an i7 quad core 6700HQ.

This is more than enough if you can stretch to £750:

I've bought it. Tbh I don't think I'll see a better deal plus I have an uncontrollable urge to play the bloody game.

Im unsure what to do because of black friday! I'd be gutted if I pay 600 then they drop it too 500 haha plus I don't know if it'll play 3d in high detail.

Will do.

Unrelated to the content of this thread but I'll ask it anyway; what's the best way of purchasing the game?

Online - is it straightforward enough?

Purchase the disc?

I'm presuming FM17 needs to be played through steam?

Steam is by far the easiest and it updates automatically too.  I believe you need Steam, yes.

@Elliott J Miller My current laptop is substantially lower in spec and handles it fine for me.  It's not lightening quick but it's not painfully slow.  I would expect the one above to run 10 leagues without much problem, but obviously the more detail you add the slower it will get.  You're best asking @Welshace for advice on specific performance in terms of leagues and detail.

So finally ordered my laptop tonight which is coming Saturday. I ordered the below from Save On Laptops:

http://www.saveonlaptops.co.uk/9S7-179553-626-MSI-GP72-6QF(Leopard-Pro)-626UK_1984222.html

Anyone bought from this company before? I have read a few reviews on Trust Pilot whilst the majority are good, there are quite a few people who have complained about them, especially their after sales service when there has been problems.

I ordered from here as its by far the cheapest price I have seen for a 17" laptop with the specs its got and you get an upgrade to 16GB of RAM.

Thought you'd be happy to know this model has gone up to £949 :(:D

Probably come back down for BF so they can say it's on offer.

Personally I wouldn't.. literally no feedback, based in germany, and the price point is too cheap... but who knows, might be worth emailing them and talking to them.

Can anyone tell me how well this would run FM? id play about 4 nations and maybe 8 leagues. only use 3d for replays.

I5-6200u RAm 8gb, 1TB HDD, graphics NVidia geforce 940mx

Perfectly fine... will run what you ask easily tbh.

Budget of around £800.

I'm looking for something that I can play FM with 3d graphics on high, run about 10 full countries with about 90,000 players comfortably.

There are several that meet your specs right here in the last two pages...

So this one here, are there any cons to it?

No cons for me ..

Just depends what you fancy   i.e... do you want a 17" laptop? or are you happy with a 15"?
