It'll give you an decent enough i7, 8gig of ram and no graphics card for about 650ish pound since googling the monitor average price is £150. (Does anyone use a curved to give him info if they're any good? I've just bought two new monitors, neither are curved). Which do you require? In terms of gameplay, the desktop has by far the superior CPU, however I cannot find any mention of a Graphics card so I fear it may be using integrated graphics which are likely to be fairly poor. I didn't say there was anything wrong with it. Like going to buy a new suit, there's a big difference in a suit for £400 and one for £600. It's good to know what your actual budget is. Plus going vie Currys PC World is very unlikely to get the best value. Just searching for the particular model for the 430 one shows it on Amazon directly from Asus for £399 (with tenner delivery). Then that's simple: You need a 1920x1080 screen. The cheapest laptop with a 1920x1080 screen depends on what country/region you are in - prices are not the same even for the exact same machine, across the globe. And some are simply not available everywhere. The Lenovo Yoga 500, the HP pavillion 15, The Lenovo IdeaPad G50 or B50 and the Acer Aspire E5 are a few of the cheaper laptops with a 1920x1080 resolution screen that you should be able to play FM on. You can't save anything to the 8GB cache. The FM saves goes into the regular spin disk "part" of the hybrid disk, so the speed of loading and saving FM saves would be just as fast as with a regular spin disk. Compared to a regular spin disk, Windows startup will be quicker, as you said, and also the startup of some of your most regularly (often) used programs/processes. It all depends on what the operating system decides to store in the cache. To speed up saving and loading of FM saves*, and also to avoid the slowdown that often happens a with a long running FM save after X amount of seasons, you need a proper SSD. * In truth, due to the forced compressing/decompressing of FM saves, even a SSD won't help much with the loading and saving times of these. santy001 Posted March 9, 2016 Share Posted March 9, 2016 Haven't been keeping up to date with how FM runs best on the processor for a while (my i7 920 D0 at 3.8ghz still cleaves through FM processing just fine) but as part of the consideration for a new purchase whats typically better for FM the skylake processors less threads/cores or the Haswell-E's with more multi-threading and more cores? Most likely defining factor is whether or not I decide to throw in a second gpu or not but I know a couple of the other games I play most of the time would typically benefit more from a skylake than one of the juiced up Haswell's. A quad core i7 clocked at 2.2ghz would still be better than a dual core i5 clocked at 2.5ghz due to the number of cores etc. That laptop you linked looks good but a cheaper laptop would probably get the job done if you'd rather spend less.
