Please do - I just finished first season with Toon, finished 6th in the end using a variety of Knap tactics. Popular Post Martinho Posted February 1, 2021 Popular Post Share Posted February 1, 2021 EPL season 1 with NUFC (achieved across multiple saves) For clarity, this success is down to Knaps HGF. This guide is largely how to re-vamp an awful squad and how to secure a £60+ million transfer budget within 2 weeks of a new save. Having tried all of the top tested tactics, this one works the best for NUFC. - Upon starting a new save, offer mutual termination to Agnew. Best coaching staff available (for free) for NUFC = Laudrup as ass man., Berkgamp as coach, Ivan Cordoba as coach. Designate all general training to Ass Man. - Instantly relagate Andy Carrol to u23 team (he is a team leader with an average / poor personality and wont play a minute of first team action. Its important to revamp the culture of the squad (more on this later). He will complain but let him know assertively that he is not needed). - Load up HGF and Sus HGF and train all players (except those you will sell) in thier position on double intensity. The only tweaks I have made are to make you more defensively sound on attacking corners as players with average accel., pace, agility and balace can and will pick up the ball on the edge of their box from one of your corners and run 70/80 yards down the pitch and create a big chance. I also use zonal marking to defend corners to great success. SuS is only used for last 5 to 10 mins to protect a lead. If drawing in the last 10, just switch to attacking mentality. I find game management can be impacted hugely by shouts (more on that later). - Instantly 'offer to clubs' (dont transfer list and offer for an 'unspecified' price) Yedlin, Krafth, Clark, Fernandez, Dummet, Atsu, Saivet, Lazaar, Aarons, Hayden and Murphy. You will be offered decent money for all players except Lazaar (£3K!) and no one will bid for Hayden (and sometimes Fernandez or Clark). For each bid you recieve of each player, if possible, negotiate for 10% more than what you have been offered and the AI will accept and pay up. Once you have accepted a bid, transfer list these players to make sure they are sold. - When no one dids for Hayden (and sometimes Fernandez or Clark), transfer list (first!), then tell them to find new clubs (if they are not transer listed before this interaction, they wont want to leave). Then offer to clubs again for an unspecified price and you can sell Hayden to Leeds for £9.25m. Occaisonally on some saves you will have to keep on offering out Clark, Fernandez and Murphy but can always sell them. Each save fluctuates by a few million, but you can raise between £58 and £65M for transfers from selling all these players. - When bringing in players, structure your transfers as an upfront fee, another sum (50% of the upfront fee) paid in installments (3 installments, 12 monthly) and offer 50% of the percentage of the players next sale (it doesnt matter as you will turn NUFC into a UCL contender in 2 or 3 seasons so players wont want to leave, and if you did want to sell anyone down the line, you will have achieved UCL qualification so will have a £55M budget for season 2 anyway). Structuring deals this way allows you to get more players in for the season 1 overhaul. - Example: Ajer (£6.5m upfront, 6.5M installments, 50% of next sale). This deal only takes around £7M out of your transfer budget. Structure all deals in a similar way. Recommended players; Szoboszlai, Max Aarons, Thorsby (to be future Team Leader). I dont want to dictate who you must sign but you need at least a Mez, B2B, DLP, 2 BPD, IW(r), PF cover and a WB(r) ** dont begin to bring in players until to have cleared a few out first to make sure you always stay within the wage budget or you will have the awkward situation where you will have a bid accepted, but not have the wages to sign the player, delaying the transer by a few weeks). - With a huge overhaul, you need to play around 6 or 7 pre season friendlies to help everone gel, preferable against teams you will hammer for morale. - Mentoring groups are important to develop the 'green lines' between players on the pitch. For example, having Thosrby, Szoboszlai and S.Longstaff in the same group will not only help to pass on Thorsby's great personality (Model Pro, Determination 20) to help max-out players with great PA, but will help them develop an undertanding on the pitch also. I recomend a mentoring group for BPDs and Midfield at least). - In the last week of the transfer window, give Joelinton the same treatment (offer to clubs' (dont transfer list and offer for an 'unspecified' price)) and you can sell him for £4m to a German club to help you fund 1 or 2 last tansfers. I recommend Bruno Alves (600K) and Rodrigo Palacio (550K) 110%. Alves will come in as your best BPD and has a great personality (Model Pro, Determination 20). Make him your vice-captain (lascelles gets pissed off 50% of the time if you remove him from captain duties, but Shelvey less so - even if Shelvey does get pissed off, you are preparing to get rid of him anyway as his personality is attrocious for a Team Leader). Bruno Alves and Palacio make amazing mentors for Max Aarons or Yusur Demir or any other young wonderkids. It is essential to have them to make sure your young signings make fast and constant progress season 1. By Jan., Lascelles can be sold for £7.5 to £10m and Hendrick can for £3m. Use this money to cover any players with poor form or if you have an injury. Then by Jan., you can have appointed a new Capt and Vice Capt, totally transforming the culture of the club, and with new staff (Laudrup, Berkgamp, Cordoba) with great mentals, your young squad can much ore easily be influenced positively and their personalities can improve. As mentioned you only need this 1 main tactic and shouts are essential. My take on shouts for constant success: - Make a shout every 15mins if drawing or behind (except in the situations to be described below). -The first shout of every game should be 'encourge' (on 15min mark, if still 0-0). - If you score, 'praise' the goalscorer and assister. No further shouts are needed once in front. If you score a 2nd goal, 'praise' the goalscorer and assister again. If you score a 3rd, praise the whole team. -If still 0-0 by 30mins, the next shout should be 'demand more' -If still 0-0 by 60mins, the next shout should be 'encourage' -If still 0-0 by 75 mins, the next shout should be 'demand more' -If still 0-0 by 90 mins, the last shout should be 'fire up' or 'encourage' as you hunt for a last min winner - The reason why you should only shout every 15 mins is that it takes 15 mins for your team talks 'effectiveness' to 'wear off'. - If you go a goal down, follow the same shouts as above. However if you bring the game back to 1-1, dont praise the assister or goalscorer as this often bring negative reactions. Instantly after scoring 'demand more', 'encourge' or 'fire up' (depending on the calibre of opponent you are playing against and what your previous shout was (it is not good to use the same shout 2 times in a row as the 2nd shout doesnt have the same effect as the 1st), to let your players know to push on for a winner. Go back to praising the assister or goalscorer once you have taken the lead. Same for bringing a game back to 2-2. - If you go 2 goals down which is very rare using this strat, 'fire up' or 'berate' depending on the calibre of team you are playing. Sorry for the long post, hope this helps someone! The game play tips here could be used for any poor / midtable EPL team to win the league season 1, dependng on how much cash you can raise season 1 and how many ready made players the team has to slip into the 451 formation. NUFC is good in this respect as Wilson, ASM, Almiron make a fine front 3 right away, Lewis is overrated as hell and Dubravka is good in goal. Top covers say top 5 Clubs in Division Mid the next 7 and then under dog. Just use totals as an all round tactic. Use best top at home and best underdog away or difficult games. You can mix and match with your preferred formations. It is just a guide to help identify right tactic. AWAY GAMES SUS With regard to Away games it depends upon your own risk factor. I am gung ho and prefer to attack and perhaps win 1 game in 3. If isk adverse then use a defensive tactic and perhaps draw all 3 games. As a defensive formation I would use 4141 as it has a DM and protects wings, and KINGSTONIAN 4141 would be my choice. I use 3 DLs std higher much higher. If AI are going for balls over top then std but if AI attacking you can leave at higher ormuch higher. The LOE can be adjusted with or without DL adjustments. The simple answer is just drop LOE.. I use Cautious positive and attacking mentalities. For a SUS these are ideas to use.
