The loan signings were unbelievable. We won the league a huge eighteen points. League Fixtures 1 & 2 - Apart from Bolton doing the double over us, the league season went very well indeed. F.A Cup - A decent run, reaching the fifth round before losing away to Brighton, after extra time. Carabao Cup - Everton proved to be our nemesis once again, as we lost on penalties, at home, in the third round. Checkatrade Trophy - A very poor campaign as we didn't even get out of our group. Pre Season Friendlies - Some excellent performances, the obvious highlight being the 6-0 hammering of Chelsea. Squad - A good squad but a lot will depend on the quality of the loan signings I can bring in next season. Youth Candidates - A poor intake this year, with Bobby Fairclough YP23B28 being the pick of the bunch. Squad Dynamics - Very good indeed. Everyone likes everyone else. Transfers In - Two players cost a transfer fee, including club record signing Chsiom Agu, otherwise all arrivals were either free transfers or loans. Transfers Out 1 & 2 - Over £16m was brought in through sales, including £6.5m from Dujon Sterling alone. Finances - Healthy, purely because of player sales. Key Players Juan Castillo - The left wing back was the best player this season. Unfortunately, Chelsea will not renew his loan for another year. Rhian Brewster - Arriving in January, he quickly found his feet, finding the net 11 times in just 14 games. Troy Parrott - The loan striker returned 33 goals from his 49 games. Mihai Formagiu - The young striker had a terrific time up front, scoring 27 goals from his 48 appearances. Cole Dasilva - A cracking campaign from the right wing back. Next Season I have absolutely no idea! I have already agreed deals with several promising youngsters from across Europe, so it could go very well or be a disaster. Wingers? etc My formation: Now I am in the Championship, my transfer policy will no longer apply. But in the lower leagues, I scouted every released youngster from the big clubs and signed as many 4/5* potential kids as I could. The best ones were only with me 6-12 months before being sold, with a sell on clause. This provided the cash required for my youth setup. I burn through cash, so need to regularly sell players. Our home form has been absolute dynamite. F.A. Cup We have not played yet as we enter in the third round. We have been given a very tough draw, away to top flight Leicester City, so I do not hold out much hope of a cup run this season. Carabao Cup No progress at all this year, as, for the second year in a row, we went out on penalties. This time away to Norwich City. Squad Dynamics - Good cohesion, primarily because the key players from last season remain at the club. Transfers In - Five players have arrived for transfer fees, plus one paid loan, as well as loans without fees, plus two free transfers. Transfers Out - Only two seven figure departures as, for the first time, my spending outstripped my sales. A lot of players have been sent out on loan. Finances - Not good. Not good at all. We are losing hundreds of thousands of pounds every month, so more players will need to be sold, despite the board injecting just under £1m into the club. grungeandgaze Posted November 10, 2018 Share Posted November 10, 2018 (edited) So I've just finished my first season with Whitehawk and after being predicted to finish 19th and struggle for survival, the team exceeded expectations qualifying for the play-offs thanks to a 5th place finish. When I first took over, there were not even enough players in the first team to have a starting 11. And the U23s and U18s were not very fruitful either. This meant I dived into the transfer market, signing whatever I could to fill in the vacant positions in the squad. Over the season, I continued to strengthen where possible, but my first team at its core mainly consisted of players already at the club when I arrived. I did release several players during the season for disciplinary reasons, and they were replaced by whoever was available (and scouted). My squad does not have great current ability, with just a small number of standout players. There is some potential, but the part-time training is not enough to achieve it. My tactics: In the cups, I managed to reach the third round of the FA Cup, beating Coventry on the way. And although I managed to draw with Portsmouth at home, they thrashed me in the replay in a match where a couple of key players were absent due to illness. In the FA Trophy I was knocked out in the second round by Aldershot, a match I may have been more competitive in had it not come two days after the Portsmouth replay. The cup runs provided me with enough cash to stay afloat, especially as my wage budget slightly exceeds the small 5,4k allotted to me. This is mainly due to me reinforcing my coaching staff which includes Stephen Warnock as U23 manager. However, the downside of the cup runs was a lot of fixture congestion which, when coupled with the part time training and a terrible pitch (which was waterlogged more than once), meant my form dipped in the league. I was bouncing between 1st and 3rd spot throughout autumn. My form did pick up once I was knocked out of the cups, but it was too late. The team did enjoy beating league winners Dulwich 4-2 in the last game of the league. We were defeated in the first round of the play-offs by Chelmsford. This gives us a solid base to push further next season in the hopes of promotion and potentially professional status. But with finances (50k) and an extremely low wage budget, it may prove difficult, as I cannot really bring in the quality needed. I almost forgot to add. Three of my players finished in the top five average rated players of the season. Defender Matt Drage finishing first with 7.44. Striker Jason Williams got 34 league goals and finished top scorer, crazy considering he had only grabbed four goals in 40 something games in his previous promotion winning season with Whitehawk. Elsewhere, midfielder Fraser completed the most key passes (72). Whitehawk also finished as the league top scorers with 97 goals. They were midtable in terms of defence, which may be the area to look at for next year. Defender Drage scored 7 and assisted 12 all from corners, with the team scoring 33 goals from corners. Season 1 (2019/2020) League Table / Fixture 1-2-3 / Finance / Squad / Transfers We left behind inconstant season.First half of season,we struggled for top 10 but second half our form decrease and strolled between 12th -16th.My centre backs,goalkeeper and strikers' performance satisfied me but i could not say same things about rest of team.I didn't get efficiency from centre midfielder and wingers.Next year,i must find quality midfielder and winger.Otherwise,we will make no progress. Tom Meechan - He is best player for us.He scored 20 goals in league. Conor Lawless - Meechan's partner.Young striker has ver solid performance. Regan Upton - Leadership of defance. Sam Naylor - Young goalkeeper was top of the shoots hold and perry statistic in the league. Youth Candidate is very good for first season.Four 4* and three 3.5* is very unexpected.Especially Wayne Clarke can be our best player in the 2 or 3 seasons.He will probably take lots of time even next season. russ the womble Posted November 10, 2018 Share Posted November 10, 2018 End of my First season as Margate manager. Finished one place outside the play offs. What was frustrating was that I was fairly comfortable in the play off spots, five points off top, before a pretty disastrous second half of the season including 8 games without a win: No one really performed brilliantly, although my forwards had some success in front of goal. Surprisingly, Ed Harris won POTY despite 3 red cards that put us into trouble. squad list My finances didnt go too well, as I signed a few players on good wages without really needing them. Next summer transfer window I'll be shipping out the high earners and steady the ship financially, and hopefully some of the younger players will develop. For a start, the badge features the rose and crown, same as Hampshire cricket club. The ground is as basic as it gets, but being just north of London I'm hoping there is potential for growth. I love the black and white kit, I'm not such a fan of the red away kit. Bournemouth imploded near the end of the season and had to settle for a runners up spot. League Fixtures 1 & 2 - A long unbeaten run towards the end of the season took us away from the chasing pack as we secured another promotion. F.A. Cup - Despite my earlier pessimism, we had a great run, beating Leicester and Chelsea on the way. We were eliminated at the quarter final stage by promotion rivals Bournemouth, losing 2-1 at their new ground, The Bournemouth Stadium. Carabao Cup - A tough draw in the first round saw us eliminated at the first time of asking, going out on penalties away to Norwich City. Pre Season Friendlies - An unbeaten pre season with the obvious highlight being a home win over Manchester City. Squad - I feel we are good enough to survive and maybe push for mid table, but nothing more. Youth Candidates - A reasonable intake, though no obvious superstar. The pick of the bunch is Martin Whitcombe YP24A30. Squad Dynamics - The squad have gelled very well indeed. Transfers In - Numerous players came in for fees, though the club transfer record remains at a modest £1.3m. I signed six players from Eastern Europe, with four arriving from Partizan alone and all six played well and proved themselves. Transfers Out 1 & 2 - Two big sales in January broke the club record for transfer fees received in a season. Finances - In the black, purely down to the two big sales in January. Going forward, the TV in the Premier League will secure the clubs future for many years. Key Players Igor Petkovic - The signing of the season and one of my all time bargains. Costing just £800,000 from Partizan in the January transfer window, the young striker returned an incredible 20 goals in 24 games. A revelation. Mihai Formagiu - Despite missing the first two months of the season through injury, the Romanian striker picked up where he left off last season and scored 8 goals in his 22 matches. Velibor Milankov - A January transfer window signing, the central midfielder cost £1.3m from Crvena Zvezda and is one of our best players. Oliver Skipp - On loan from Tottenham Hotspur, the central midfielder had a solid season. Juan Castillo - Another fantastic season from the wing back. His contract is up with parent club Chelsea at the end of the season and they are not willing to discuss selling him to me. Would love to acquire him permanently. But in the end I settled with Kingstonian. Some good players already in the squad, like Faal and Cundle. For now is going relatively well. We pretty consistent this season, which i think was the big difference, all of the other teams were really streaky so it flattered us a lot. I grabbed quite a few bargain freebies to make a solid young squad, i also really stuck with one formation for the whole season and tailored my signings accordingly alongside that, taking over a club with hardly any players on contract was great and allowed me to mould my side. Not going very deep into many cups also helped with keeping my small squad fit although we did have a tonne of injuries around Christmas and i ended up bringing in some loan players to help out. Alongside that i managed to get myself on to 2 training courses to increase my own effectiveness, finances are okay-ish so hopefully we should be pretty stable going into to Vanarama Prem Link to post Share on other sites More sharing options...

SkiIIs Posted November 12, 2018 Share Posted November 12, 2018 Stalybridge Celtic Season 2 2020/21 League Table – was predicted to finish last by quite some margin however my personal objective was to finish table. We started off well and by half way through the season we found ourselves in the play off spots, however if we were to be honest, a lot of underserved victories along the way. A baron spell over the Christmas period of 1 point in 7 games put us back to mid table. Was difficult to get any real momentum after that and with about 10 games to go the possibility of making the playoffs were well and truly over. Played some of the kids towards the end and slightly changed some duties and finished the season off well for 10th position. As I look back, it was disappointing after a great start, but it was a strong consolidating season. I blame myself for some part as my I didn’t really change the look of my strikeforce from the VNN. I permanenetly signed my top striker Jake Wright who was on loan last year, but that was it. I spent too long looking for strong wb’s which are difficult to find (and sign) in this league which cost me in the end. My defence needs sorting out, my GK found himself having the most saves held and the most saves parried at the same time so definitely something that we need to work ok. All three rotating strikers also had periods of over 10 games without a goal which will be a focus over the coming offseason Squad Transfers Youth Intake Takeover Finances Nothing really worth mentioning in the cups again although as we have a keep making huge losses each month, I will endeavor to progress further in the cups in the new season. Not sure how else we can stop haemorrhaging cash as we are spending below budgeted wages. We have been taken over so hopefully there will be more cash injections, managed to get the new chairman to pay for me coaching licence, something I wasn’t able to do previously because of overdraft. Next seasons aim will be to challenge for top 4. It’s a big aim but I have spent too much time already filtering through every single released player of June so it better pay off! Off the pitch, the 50k finances disappeared quickly and the planned development of the youth system was cancelled. We did sign a new sponsorship deal worth 14.5k/year, which was more or less our sole source of income, seeing as the attendance rarely exceeds 500 people. I did however get my first coaching badge. On the pitch things went well with a steady friendly period culminating in a 2-1 victory over Crystal Palace. I did book more home friendlies against strong opposition in the hope of getting some income but they were cancelled prior to the games. With no transfer budget and a very limited wage budget, I could only strengthen sporadically and brought in some loanees. I did sign several free agents and released a bunch of underwhelming players. These changes meant my team ended up much stronger on the defensive side, but lost somewhat going forward. We were the 8th best attack, compared to last season's 1st spot but were the best defence in the league conceding only 39 in 42 games. None of the players stood out, but the team put in a good performance to secure the league title and promotion to the National League. The championship went down to the wire. In the final day of the campaign, Bath were top with ourselves and Havant & Waterlooville one point behind them. Our superior goal difference to H&W meant victory against Bath in the last game would guarantee promotion. In a great effort, the team sunk 3 past Bath and celebrated lifting the first National League South title of Whitehawk's history. The FA Cup ended in the 4th qualifying round with a defeat in a replay against Concord. York knocked us out of the FA Trophy in the first round. The team over exceeding expectations, other clubs began looking at me and my staff. Our assistant manager was poached by Truro City and managed them to safety whilst our under-18 manager left to manage Maidenhead, finishing in a strong 10th place. Clubs were interesting in myself and the news was full of rumours I had to deny. I was approached by Notts County and Yeovil but I politely declined their offers. My first place finish earned me my second consecutive manager of the season award. In spite of his stats, winger Connor Tighe earned the player of the season award (unfortunately he is wanting to leave as he doesn't feel the club matches his ambitions, it will be a sad loss). My squad overview, you can see there are many areas in need of strengthening but there's a good solid spine. My tactics and first choice 11 by the end of the season: I am now considering whether to use the same tactic or to look into something safer for the upcoming season, which may be a struggle. Financially we are now 300k in the red. The board has just announced plans to extend the stadium, doubling its capacity to 4000, in order to meet league standards and a prior loan is now due to be payed. Our kit sponsor has increased to 21k, not enough to make a difference at this point. Our semi-professional status, which is unlikely to change due to the finances, will likely make things much harder. Thankfully, several key players have signed new non-contracts, which has drastically reduced our wage bill. We are also due to resign winger Marsh-Brown who had left for Havant & Waterlooville the previous summer, he is a talented young player. I have Watson signed last year and a solid defender and then Coyne who has not played at all in 4 years and to my mind lacking in heading, vital in CD'S. The team made a dubious start losing 3 times (conceding 4+ goals in each game) in the first 6 games. By October, Sutton were 9 points ahead even though results picked up. By Mar the gap had been narrowed to just 2 points but the team faltered badly as did Sutton. Bath managed 30 games without defeat to storm past and win the league. In the playoffs the team won 2-1 at home to Oxford city before facing Sutton away. The match was poised at 2-2 when i introduced Adeloye in the 70th minute who scored a hatrick to win the match 5-3. In the playoff final, in-form Woking were the opponents and it took till almost the last kick to win the match. In the FA cup the team reached the 1st Rd where they faced L2 Wimbledon at home in a televised match. A 0-3 loss didn't really flatter the team as it could have been worse. In the FA trophy 1st rd the team narrowly lost 2-1 away to VNL Ebbsfleet, Finances Due to players sales and an extra 35K from a sell-on clause for Smith as well as the TV money it meant that finances for the season were good. In fact the board agreed to an affiliate club and an improvement in the youth level at the end of the season. On the squad front, the team didn't do to badly as i sold 2 underperforming players as well as Clarke who was a good backup but not likely to improve. The other players who wanted to leave didn't as no-one made a noffer. Watson came in and did ok but i am hoping he can improve. Midfield was improved by Collar who was good at scoring from distance. On the wings Pochettino set a new league record for assists. Mehew again impressed getting the league top scorer and player of the year. Club icon Bugiel was a real disappointment after i brought him in. With a chronic lack of depth within the squad and financially hamstrung The Dabblers relied heavily on strike duo Tinashe Chakwana and Marcus Dinanga to maintain a place above the drop zone. Trying to pick up Dinanga when his contract expires with Burton Albion is high on the priority list alongside fixing the woeful defense . And turns out out, still worked! At least better than anything else I've tried. We are still conceding a lot of goals, but I'm reluctant of making too much change in a tactic so I'm unsure how to change it. Anyway, we are playing quite well, and we keep losing matches we should have won, so I think we will prove better should we go full time anything soon. We did quite well this season though, and finished in a pretty good 13th place. In the FA Cup we got to the 3rd round again, and had a good go away to Everton, but still lost. In the FA Trophy we got to the 4th round before losing on pens to Morecambe after replays. We had another good youth intake where Reuben Fox 26e is the best. Since I'm quite some years into the save I thought I'd present the first team in a bit of detail now. GK: Benjamin Ansong 24g - A very good goalkeeper, and I hope to keep him for a while yet. DR: Robbie Healy 23e - Has gotten a match for Ireland U21. Good allround full back. DC: Robert O'Halloran 24a - Also playes for Ireland U21. Got pretty good stats in the most things you want in a defender. DC: Jake Douglas 22d - A bit slow, and bad at heading, but some good stats for a defender. DL: Victor Akinyemi 24b - Really solid full back who are becoming a regular for Nigeria U21. MR: Colin Cole 23f - A good attacking winger who also gets on the scoresheet. MC: Martin Mahon 23c - The attacking central midfielder who also is the brain behind our attacks, at least when it's not hoofed above the whole midfield. MC: Romaine Scott 24d - A bit more defensive minded, but a brilliant player who are now capped 4 times for Jamaica. ML: Neil Mitchell 24c - Is more a central midfielder, but due to a lack of good wingers on the left he deputizes there with great effect. SC: Kingsley Williams 23d - Part of our strike force. Both strong and agile, but lacking a bit in his finishing. Still scored 23 goals this season. SC: Ethan Davis 21e - The man himself. Our top scorer and vice-captain. 34 goals with 6 finishing isn't bad at all! Other notable players:David Liburd 20b - Our captain and 3rd choice centre back. Still plays a lot due to injuries or fatigue.Joel Henderson 25f - Already around the first team and plays quite a bit. Season 2 (2020/2021) League / Squad / Fixture 1-2-3-4 / Cups / Transfers / Finance / Youth Candidate Another inconsistent season.I could not understand this team.We started too bad in the season.We did not win first 7 game and we had just 3 pts.Then,we had very good performance until December and we climbed up till 9th.After that,we dropped the our form against.In February,we did not score even a single goal.Finally,we did not lose last 9 games of the season and finished 12th. In Cups -both of them- we were eliminated in the first round. In transfer market,we sold first player that we earn money.Conor Lawless went to AFC Telford for 2.1K €.Also,this is a record sale for Merthyr Town. Personally,I was second in the manager of the season. Zane Banton - Pacey striker is our top goalscorer(20).But his performance is undulate(i am not sure this is correct word if it isn't,correct me please) Wayne Clarke - His performance is average but his progress is admirable.He is best player in our squad according to my assistant manager.On the other hand,he doesn't want to sign a new contract.I hope,i can hold him. Luke Purnell - Outstanding performance from our goalkeeper.He has best average point in our squad. Myles Sohna - He is very good player for this level but he did not want to sign new contract. I was again nominated for manager of the year, but finished in third place this time. In the cups, Yeovil knocked me out of the FA Cup in the 1st round, but we went on a great FA Trophy run losing to Chesterfield in the semis (2-1 over two legs). Unfortunately three key players picked up serious injuries just before those games, including a broken leg for my main striker. In the transfer market, I brought in several players on free transfers and released a few. I also made my first sale for £550. Financially, things aren't too great with a negative balance that seems unsurmountable, I will look at planning big friendlies again to reduce this before kicking off the next season. The squad is still quite average but it feels more consistent, I will look into strengthening if possible. As for the tactics, it's more of the same, I tweaked things a little, but my 4-1-4-1 is providing decent results. Next season we are still predicted to finish deep in the relegation zone, but with some new recruits I would hope we can push for a top half finish. I'm going of a three year plan to attempt promotion. With the financial situation as it is, despite me being within my wage budget, it's hard to attract the type of players needed for a clear climb up the leagues, and with no real youth set-up, it's impossible to rely on bringing through good talent and selling them on to balance the books. The board are also very against any form of affiliation as they want to remain independent and do not want to rely on loans to build the team. Going professional would help, but it's not looking likely due to finances. So it will be about building a squad and improving upon it little by little. League Table - It was very similar season than our first in Premier League. We finished 9th once again. I think we got three less points this year so in theory we didn't progress at all. However I wasn't too disappointed. This should still increase our reputation. We could have finished little bit higher to be honest but I decided to explore new tactical options towards the end of the season and I'm not sure that did us any good. I haven't decided yet how we are going to approach next season. I'd like to play more adventurous system than 4-1-4-1 but I'm not really sure how. We don't have players to play 4-2-3-1 yet. Furthermore it was another season without cup success. I keep ignoring them at the moment. Transfers - Lots of activity both in and out. Most notable sale was probably Pierre-Emmanuel Ekwah Elimby's transfer to Everton. He was our captain had been us since League One but he wanted to move to Everton and I felt that the offer was good enough. Michael Roels was our biggest incoming transfer. I had high hopes on him but unfortunately he suffered two major injuries. Valon Istogu was signing of the season in my opinion. Finances are still great and new budgets are encouraging. I like that board are not afraid of increasing wage budget aggressively. Key Players Vito Mosca had another solid season. He didn't produce that many assists this season but did well nevertheless. William Kasongo was free transfer from Chelsea. He scored respectable 14 goals in Premier League. Unfortunately he has pretty modest minimum fee release clause in his contract and he's not interested in signing new one when there are multiple interested parties. I expect to lose him. Next Season FA figured after one season that our stadium, Robbie Cooke Park, does not meet minimum Premier League requirements. Board agreed to rent King Power Stadium next season. This was pretty good news but it got even better. I was able to request board to build bew stadium despite our current stadium being less than five years old. Board agreed with me and announced plans to build new 33,000 capacity stadium. Good times. Hopefully we can celebrete these news and maybe make a push for continental qualification.
