I posted the earlier table because some people had not brought their predictions up to date but this is how it looks after round 1. YouReds retains his lead although it is now only two points from Timma, who jumps four places into second, with oriole01 dropping into third. Razzler is the big mover, scoring an impressive seven points in the further games to jump an astonishing 14 places to 6th place - well done Razzie! Honourable mentions to LilSaint and SouthCoastRed for scoring five points and to toon_84 for closing the gap at the bottom. A bit of a disaster for YouReds, who plummets six places to 7th after the third lowest score of the round - easy come, easy go - very bad luck YouReds. Second placed Timma scored slightly better but with a lower than average score for the round fell three places from 2nd to 5th. Waiting to take advantage, well, just about everyone! Well done to the round winners oriole01, Collzy and DB08, who each posted a hugely impressive 18 points. All of them move up the table as a consequence and now fill the top three spots - very well done guys!! Special mention to oriole01, who is our new leader. PMLF keeps the pressure up on the leaders with 16 points and is now in fourth after moving up one place. Very well done to daylight, who is the biggest mover in this round, moving up an enormous 11 places, from second bottom, to 9th - perhaps posting your predictions at the last minute made a difference after all. Honourable mention to GunmaN1905 who is our second biggest mover, scoring 16 points and moving up seven places - well done to you both. At the bottom, it is very tight. toon moves up three places to come off the bottom and start his charge to the top! craigcwwe and ArsenalFan7 drop a place each but it is SouthCoastRed who props up the table and as he didn't keep up with the predictions, he may be the first of us not to get out of the group stages. Excluding SouthCoastRed, who didn't complete the round, only six points separates craigcwwe in second bottom place from Razzler in 12th place. The table is still very tight and we have seen some big movers over the last two rounds, so there is everything to play for. The last of the group games have finished and while a lot of the results and teams going through were expected, there were also some real shocks. Among other notable outcomes, Germany crashed out at the group stage (or the first round, if you like) for the first time since 1938 and we all know how well they took that. The German team was joined for the final game by their WAGs and families, in contrast to the last German team in Russia, which was accompanied by 18 regiments of the 1st Army Group and 22 tank divisions. The good news is that for them the VAR is over. Also out are Egypt, who will feel they were sphinxed by the injury to Salah. Peru who were less affected by VAR but disappointed us all during their Machus on the Picchus. Poland reminded us that they have never enjoyed being in Russia and Argentina managed to get through with a late winner and the brilliance of Messi was tempered only by concerns over the health of a former legend as Maradona, looking dazed and confused in the stands, clearly thought the score was 1-1. So, to the table and after the group stages Collzy moves up one place to take the lead for the first time with a hugely impressive 13 points - the highest total of the round. Fantastic effort Collzy - very well done indeed. oriole01 slips to second place by four points despite picking up a very credible eight points in this round. DB08 is a non-mover, hanging on to 3rd place, after also picking up eight points. Timma and GunmaN1905 join him in joint 3rd, both moving up one place and both scoring a tremendous 11 points. PMLF, three points behind, seems to be doing a Brazil and planning his move at the right time. Also waiting to pounce and within striking distance are HOORAY HENRIK, (who also scored 11 points), Marc.Foster.050, YouReds, (our first round leader), Orzelek and Readingfanman, who had a storming start to the round. Marc.Foster.050 and toon_84 were the second highest scorers in the round with 12 points each and as a consequence, Marc.Foster.050 is the biggest mover, going up an impressive seven places - well done Marc. Honourable mentions for toon_84 and Readingfanman who both moved up five places - very well done to all three - toon's rise from the bowels of the table being particularly impressive. At the bottom craigcwwe moves up two places with a very creditable nine points. Crispypaul moves down one place into the bottom four, with the lowest score of the round, where he remains one point and one place above ArsenalFan7. Bad luck guys but we have seen big moves up the table with only a few correct scores so there are plenty of opportunities in the knock-out stages. Razzler is the biggest faller this week, also with the lowest score of the round, dropping five places, closely followed by Sons FC, which must be a fix! The pressure has been taken off the bottom of the table by SouthCoastRed, who was unable to get out of the group stages, didn't enter the last round of fixtures and remains bottom. So, temporary positions until the pre-tournament bonuses are added in but will the table look very different? We'll see shortly. Collzy batters ahead, what a day he has had with HOORAY HENRIK and Sons FC zooming up the table thanks to the bonuses with Sons FC the biggest mover, rising 12 places. craigcwwe is also a big mover moving up 11 places to 7th - very well done craig. LilSaint and CFuller also did well, moving up six places each. GunmaN1905 and Marc.Foster.050 are the biggest fallers, moving down 11 and 10 places respectively - commiserations to them. Near the bottom Razzler closes the gap to GunmaN1905 with his 10 point bonus.
