playmaker
Odd reply! Why is it an odd reply? The OP said that the long shots stat has gone missing. I'm telling him it was never there to go missing. There was shots, shots on target and shots off target. Do a google image search on 'football manager match stats' you will find that I am correct. Fredric Drum
Now that's cleared up... what exactly is a "clear cut chance"? Seems like it's only one on ones with the GK, so I think this stat is kinda useless. Would be better with a stat or good chances that include post shots and other almost-goals. You can hit the post or even score without it being a clear cut chance. It is not the quality of the shot that counts, but how easy a chance it is. I would define it as the player receiving or having the ball close to goal, with little or no pressure applied by a defender, where it is easier to get on target than miss. In other words, the player really only has the keeper to beat, whether it is from a one on one or just poor marking as he receives the ball.
rbnrbn
Yes i agree. If the player is in in a "favourable position" with little or no pressure from defenders.
Fredric Drum
Well, they should replace it by an "Obvious scoring chance" stat. Then we'd be talking useful information. None of the stats currently in-game give you any information about what team have the majority of good goal scoring opportunities.
