nerner
As some of you will already know, walcotts wonderkids has made an imaginary league with some extraordinary teams in it, with the aim of seeing how they do in the league. It has replaced league two in the English League pyramid. I am going to play this save, running a large database with leagues loaded down to the extreme league, and will update yearly, until a team wins the premiership or all the teams get relegated down to the conference. I will start by introducing everyone to the teams.

nerner
Class 4: Player / Backroom Staff Variables 14. Civil War XI Club Info Civil War Stiker Extreme Feature: The squad is comprised of talented players for this level of football, but within the squad there are several bouts of infighting amongst the players. Questions How many people will get hacked off with each other over the next season? Will the team be able to play as one despite the hatred amongst the ranks of each other? 15. Questions Will technical ability overcome their weaknesses in over areas of the game? What happens when they face a team like the Dog & Duck XI? 20. Hurricanes FC Club Info Hurricanes Striker Extreme Feature: Inspired by the TV cartoon of yesteryear, the squad is full of future legends. What more can be said – its all in this video. They all have CAs of 150 and PAs of 200. However, the side does have a shocking backroom setup, will this stop them in their tracks? chopper99
Erm, is this not exactly the same as what Walcott is doing in the challenges forum?

mackemforever
any chance you could upload the database for this? Or at least a savegame at the very start of the season. Thanks.

chopper99
No, not quite, as he is updating weekly and I am updating seasonally, which means that I could carry on for more seasons. I'm not quite sure I understand you. So you're saying that you're using Walcotts database to run exactly the same experiment as him with the only two differences being that you're updating yours seasonally rather than weekly and you're putting yours in GQ rather than CSE?
nerner
Yes, now you mention it it is remarkably similar, but his experiment appeared dead, as there are no posts for ages, and I thought that with a great database like that, it was a waste to have it rotting at the bottom of the CSE forums. nerner
End of season 1 Table: So Global newspaper XI run away with it in the end, with 116 points, Golden Oldies fall away at the end but come second with 95 pts. While Hurricanes FC grab 3rd spot with 86pts, 5pts clear of Bottlers XI. The promotion winning sides are finished with EPO Allstars, who beat Lincoln, the only normal team, in the playoff final. Billionares XI make bottom spot their own, with only 27 points to their name, and Synthetic United go down with 3 games to go, with 43 points. Heartwork
I'm supporting Wealthy Donors cos they're my local side in this game, in Bromley. Good for Golden Oldies, but they sould have Barthez.
nerner
Club updates. Global newspaper XI Despite running away with the league, they went through 4 different managers, Mourinho, Alan Daws(lasted 19 days, won them the league but then got sacked), Thomas Schaaf, and Barry Fry, they now have a normal chairman, as Chairman Global took control at Cardiff City. A hoarde of new players brought them unrivalled success in the league. Golden Oldies XI For months were right behind Global Newspaper XI, but after some injuries and some retirements, they fell away and came second. Hurricanes FC Their fantastic players were not good enough in the 1st half of the season, but some hirings and firings in the backroom setup, hauled them up the table into 3rd place. New manager Brian Laws got them playing good football, and they eventually won promotion ahead of the Bottlers. Bottlers XI A good start, but their terrible physical attributes meant that they succumbed to injury, and to EPO Allstars in the playoffs, in a penalty shootout, after two nilnil draws. Lincoln City The only normal team in this crazy league held their own, and surprisingly got a playoff place, and even more surprisingly beat Eurotrip XI 4-2 in their semi. Unluckily they lost out to Epo Allstars XI in the final. Euro Trip XI Mid table all year, before Glenn Roeder took them to the Playoffs, the power of Aghbonlahor and Calvin Zola upfront was not enough there though, and they lost to Lincoln 4-2 on aggregate. They got to the group stages of the EURO cup, before being thrashed in all their games by Aalborg, Ajax, Shaktar Soligorsk, and PSG. EPO Allstars Their superior fitness told against most other teams and they went on to record wins in the playoffs against the Bottlers, on Pens, and Licoln City, 3-1 in a remarkably even final, but goals came from their up front pair in the last 15 mins to end a thrilling final. nerner
Club Updates Utilities XI The players never knew where they were next playing, which didn't help there playoff bid, although they nearly edged out eventual winners EPO Allstars into 8th. Football Directory XI Should have done better than they did, a shock to see them in 9th, but maybe their fortunes will change next year. Control FC Nothing much to say about them, mid-table, boring finish. Did nothing special all year. Athletic Amateurs Struggled to attract players with any talent due to being amateur, came 11th, turned semi-pro in february, but too late to buy any players. Civil War XI Came exactly mid-table, infighting kept other players away, and drove out decent prospects and first team players, did a lot better than I expected though. Kindergarten XI Started very well, but after selling almost all of their youngsters without replacing them, it was always going to be a struggle for them in the second half of the season, slumped to 11 successive defeats towards the back-end of the season. Dog & Duck Long ball tactic and bullying worked well, as they put Scunthorpe and Hull out of the FA Cup before falling to QPR in the quarter finals, unable to replicate this form in the league though. A fourteenth place finish is poor.

Heartwork
Tell ya what you should've done: Unknown XI. 50 rep. No-one has heard of this club, but they have a few decent players. Questions: Will the small attendances cause the club to go into admin? Will the club lose all of its stars to bigger non-league teams? What d'ya think?
nerner
Club Updates Wealthy Donor XI Took a risk with unknown manager Nigel Kpwiri. Didn't pay-off as they ended up coming 15th. Backroom FC After a poor start, sacked manager and brought in Ian Holloway, didn't do them any good, although he kept them out of danger. Mini Kiev Shaktar gave them financial support, but no players, they finish 17th. Andorra All the players get capped for Andorra(surprise surprise) but their new manager kept faith in the Andorrans, only bringing in 5 players in the january window(maybe 5 was all he could afford). His faith was misguided, and they end up 18th. 7 points from the drop. Satan XI Englands most hated, when they stayed up they were praised by other teams, but immediately turned on those other teams and made some scathing comments. Happy Campers Morale didn't do them any good, as they came 20th.
nerner
Andorra just bought some good quality defenders mainly, Wayne Hennesy in goal, Ian Ashbee, and Mario Frick, are the ones that i can remember. Club Updates Londinium XI Tony Pulis insisted on the long ball tactic, so many fans turned up every week to see a horrible standard of football. Admin Idols A board takeover saved them from points deductions and relegation, but only just stayed up anyway. Synthetic United Does playing on a synthetic pitch make you crap? Synthetic United were anyway, second bottom, 43 pts, relegated to conference. The Billionaires Predicted to come last by media; did not disappoint.
