From bottom to the 9th tier and beyond?

Recommended Posts

After going through all of my old FM files I found this game save again. I relegated Keymer and Hassocks from the 9th tier and was harshly sacked. But the version of the save I found was at the start of the season I was relegated. So I though it would be fun to try this save again and see if we can do better than before. I have played the first half of the 20th season.

Looking good so far. I think it would be better if you went into more depth such as who you've signed and what tactics you're going with. Would make it a bit more interesting imo. Good stuff so far though!

Thanks for the feedback Jakarooney. Here are my tactics and my only signing of the summer so far.

Thanks, I'm not the best player but I still like to see the tactics. And, I've actually heard of Rakish bingham so you must be doing pretty good. Great so far, good luck .

I have managed to sign a couple of former Tottenham players. Rakish Bingham is my best signing of the season so far. He is scoring for fun. We are currently on a 56 match unbeaten run. The last 26 have all been wins. How long can this run last?

End of season 18:

Season review:

I think this was a good season overall, considering the board only expected a mid table finish. However, to come close to promotion is a bit of a blow. To top it off Furnace Green Rovers went on an a long unbeaten run, straight after we beat them, to win the title from out of nowhere. At least we finished 3rd which is our highest finish in the English football pyramid to date.

Funniest part (s) of the season:

I found a regen in my team, who came from the youth intake a few seasons ago, called Graham Godfrey-Gundry. East Thurrock United, whose caretaker manager was Conor Coady, offered me an interview for the job when we played them that very same day.

Worst part of the seaon:

Losing to Chichester 2-0, at home, thanks to two own goals. Also, they did not register a shot on target that game.

Goals for next season:

Win our first trophy since 2028. Preferably the league though.

Look like I am off to Russia. I will stay on as Keymer & Hassocks manager as well. I did not apply for this post they offered it me outright. When I joined Keymer and Hassocks I had the default coaching badge and past playing experience for a club in the 22nd tier of English football. I have however since obtained the Continental Pro Licence. In my game save Russia have just won the 2034 World Cup.

End of season 20:

I have been sacked as Keymer & Hassocks manager. I still plan on playing on this save as I have a European Championship Finals to look forward to with Russia. If anyone has any ideas as to who, or where, I should manage next I am open to suggestions. I fell with my current reputation as an in game manager and my current coaching badge, I could get a League Two (fourth level of English football) job. I am thinking about doing a world journeyman save with the main aim of beating the World Record for the longest FM save. I am currently a fifth of the way there.

Wow this is shaping up well. Are you aiming to win the prem with your current club or would you take a job offer from a big team? Interesting to see if you can help Russia win more World Cups than Brazil!

Yes I am hoping to win the prem with Hereford. But, if I do win the prem, I expect it to take a very long time. In the past few seasons of the Championship I have been predicted to finish rock bottom. I left the Russia job in order to focus on my club.

Great save!  Pretty difficult sacking with Keymer, getting promoted out of that league is a challenge.  Struggling myself to get promoted in my save from that division.  Good luck on taking Hereford to the top!

Thanks, Let's hope I will do better at Hereford.

End of fourth season in the Championship:

For the fourth season in a row we were predicted to finish 24th. We just avoided relegation by finished 21st two points above the drop. At least we have a new stadium to look forward to come the start of the new season.
