Entry-level contracts are too long

Recommended Posts

As you can see in the first screenshot, this player was just signed to an ELC, but his contract lasts 4 years instead of 3. This is not a problem for players 20 and up, because a year of the contract is burned on July 1st and then they will have 3 years like they should. However, if a player is signed to an ELC before they turn 20, the ELC slide kicks in and they have 4 total years on their ELC. The second screenshot shows a player who was signed to an ELC the year before, had his contract slide, and now is contracted for four years of professional hockey.
