[FM17] Return Of The Legends by David

After last year's great success of this database, I decided to publish an expanded version that will include even more legendary clubs and players. If you ever wanted to see Paul Gasoigne, Hristo Stoichkov, Franz Beckenbauer, Zico, Marco van Basten, Duncan Edwards, Hugo Sanchez, Gabriel Batistuta all of them in one place and facing each other? Well, now you can. In Football Manager 2017 and with an update “Return Of The Legends for FM17”, you will have an opportunity to play and manage all of these stars and 3000 others spread all over the world in their respective teams.

All of the major and many minor leagues are filled with clubs which possess their all-time greats and are under the guidance of some the managers who ever graced the game.

Bob Paisley is in charge of Liverpool who has players such as Kevin Keegan, Alan Hansen, Kenny Dalglish & John Barnes amongst others.
Sir Alex Ferguson is leading Manchester United with George Best, Bobby Charlton, Ryan Giggs & Eric Cantona and is up to you stop him for dominating the Premier League again. In addition, there are great generations of Leeds, London giants and "crazy gang" from Wimbledon.

Or maybe you think you can do better than Helenio Herrera at Inter with the likes of Giacinto Facchetti, Ronaldo & Sandro Mazzola in your squad and win the battle for Scudetto against Arrigo Sacchi’s AC Milan and their formidable defense, against Juventus and their three-time Ballon d’Or winner Michel Platini and can you hold out against Fiorentina’s deadly duo – Baggio & Batistuta? Also, from the shadows seek a chance Grande Torino, Eriksson’s Lazio, Napoli with Maradona and Legendary Parma team. In new edition I include legendary Foggia team, led by Zdenek Zeman, and much more legends from lower italian clubs such as Triestina, Padova, Vicenza, Bari.

Winning anything in this update is a success, as many clubs and national teams have some of the best talent that ever appeared in history of football. German, Spanish and French clubs are great competitors. And not just the major ones. There are teams from Holland, Belgium, Scotland, Russia, Ukraine, Austria, former Yugoslavia, Romania, Bulgaria, Hungary or from Portugal who have good chances of winning the Champions League as much as the teams who are coming from the stronger leagues.

This year I added a lot of Asian and African legends, especially from Korea, Japan, Middle East, and some great legends of Fortuna Dusseldorf, Magdeburg, RW Essen, Achen, Mulhouse, Racing Club Paris, Las Palmas.

The players who are coming from the oldest eras of football are older than the ones who are appeared later and therefore are closer to their peak and reaching their full potential.

And don’t worry the likes of Lionel Messi, Cristiano Ronaldo & Neymar still exist, but are a younger versions of themselves and are relocated to their parent clubs. Because of that your task as a manager is even more challenging as it’s up to you to develop them into world-class players they are today and if you succeed to make them a part of your squad.

This is a thrilling update which can bring any Football Manager fan into an ecstatic state of nostalgia with no doubt that they will enjoy the game even more and find it refreshing and challenging like never before. Also were done and facepack for almost all players, which will further give the game interesting.

The man behind the whole project is David Salapura from Serbia. With a little help of some of his friends from Serbian FM Community after few months of work they created this update for every Football Manager fan to enjoy.

I owe special thanks to Victor Kalma Srica, who helped me this year.

Great!

How many players are there in the squads? Is that a fixed number, or just as many legends as you could find?
Last year I posted a lot of suggestions for the Dutch teams in Fenech's Legend topic. Perhaps that can help you.

Thanks a lot. 3000 players are there. Almost every relevant country have their best players from history.

There will always be someone to tell that is missing some players, but it is impossible to make every legend, then I would never have finished this job. 3000 legends is enough, what is important is that none of the really famous legends is missing. I used a lot of relevant istory sources and specialised web sites about football history.

Hi, Thanks a lot first of all. I have a problem with the facepack, all the legends' pictures are out of place - examples are attached in the screens. However all of the current players who were made younger still have their correct photo (last attached screenshot).

Can you please help? Thanks

That problem occurs when you select other editor files with this. Select only this database when create new game and facepack will work properly. As you can see in my screenshots, everything is fine.

Ronaldinho is there at Barcelona, maybe you select some transfer update with this in which he is retired. As I said, you must select only this db.

And right you are :) Thanks!

By the way, I personally think that it would've been great if you had done new pics for the current players you've kept in the game as a younger version, like Lampard, Rooney, Gerrard etc, and also Alex Ferguson :)

Also, as a Dane I've noticed a couple of things regarding Danish players... Some players are in the database twice. Michael Laudrup, Thomas Helveg, and Morten Olsen some of them. Brøndby/Liverpool legend Daniel Agger is missing, along with a bunch of other Danish players who could've been in the game. Flemming Povlsen (Dortmund), Ebbe Sand (Brøndby/Schalke), Lars Olsen (Brøndby - National Team Captain for years), John Jensen (Brøndby/Arsenal), Dennis Rommedahl (PSV), Martin Jørgensen (Fiorentina/Udinese), Thomas Sørensen (Sunderland/Aston Villa), Christian Poulsen (Schalke), Jesper Grønkjær (Aab, Chelsea), Thomas Gravesen (Everton), Frank Arnesen (Ajax), Allan Nielsen (Totteham/Watford), Jesper Olsen (Manchester United/Ajax), Stig Tøfting (AGF), and of course also the player who has the record of national team goals Poul Nielsen (FC Copenhagen)

And lastly, Jose Maria Bakero from Barcelona has some German guy's picture, and Roberto Carlos from Real Madrid has no picture :p

I didn't make pics of existed persons because there is lot of facepacks with them, but I will try to make it for FM18. Also I will try to include that danish players, but each of you has a special desire and some players that would like to include, but this take a long time to be done. Thanks for your feedback :)

Appreciate the great work, but can you tell me where all the attackers have really high aggression attribute? Many of these people weren't aggressive at all. Many of them have higher aggression than many of the hardmen in history. It's something that stood out to me after about an hour of looking through the database.

Thanks. For many legends I didn't have all informations to fill out every attribute, so for many of them I left some attributes as random (0). So the game decides value of their attributes based on their CA and PA.

Hello,

Want to give a try on this database, but can you confirm the duplicated players were removed?

There are not duplicated players.

Lothar 200 pa. Strange

Every versatile player like him have bigger PA than he deserves, because editor increases his PA a lot because of some attributes like "decisions" or if player is boot-footed. Anyway, PA isn't that important, as you can see Lothar is very realistic with all attributes.
