Startup Leads to Flashing Monitor & PC Freeze

Every time I start EHM it just leads to a flashing screen which then freezes up everything except the task bar.  The game never makes it to the intro screens or main menu.  I have to select "Exit Steam" from the task bar to eventually get EHM to close in order to regain control of my PC. 

I had started a new career with the TBL Rosters v9.1, and everything was fine.  The problem started when I was trying to get background images (Arena Background Megapack from TBL) to display in the game.  I was trying different in game screen resolutions in hopes of finding one that would display the background images.  Everything was working fine until then.

I have tried the following:

1. Verify Integrity of Game Files

2. Cleared Steam appcache

3. Removed background image files that I had added. 

4. Removed every additional file that I had added (players, non-players, logos, sounds, etc.).

5. Uninstalled EHM

6. Re-installed EHM

7. Uninstalled again and attempted to find & remove any residual files from EHM.

8. Re-installed EHM again.

Any ideas on fixing this would be greatly appreciated because as it stands now, I can't even open EHM.
