hasdgfas
No cup double this season, as our makeshift back line is shredded by Stoke with me wanting everyone fresh for Liverpool This was completely absurd. One of the most entertaining matches of FM I have ever played.

hasdgfas
Shortly after the FA Cup Semifinal, we play our game in hand, which is against Liverpool. A solid performance keeps us on track.
hasdgfas
A routine win at home over West Ham, even with Laskowski's moment of madness. That moment may really hurt us, as he's our best non-injured defender, with Mustafi having been injured for a while. How much did United win by at Southampton? Oh my! This changes the result we need at Old Trafford from a win to a draw. This could be huge, as we can be more cautious than we otherwise would be, and we may need it with Laskowski suspended. hasdgfas
I've shown faith in the kids all season, that's not going to change for a match at Old Trafford. I wish I could start Laskowski, but I'm starting Bielik, Sutton, Mumuni, and Anh, all Premier League rookies. Some early pressure from United. 18th minute: Sanchez gets the ball behind the defense and explodes towards the box! He cuts inside and readies to shoot..... PENALTY TO ARSENAL! Sanchez shoved off the ball unfairly. Elneny steps up to the spot.... 1-0 to Arsenal at Old Trafford! De Gea guesses correctly, but just too much power on the shot for him. 22nd Minute, a corner for United. Cleared, but it's gotten back to Mkhitaryan on the wing, who crosses it to Morata who has a free header! So close! 24th Minute: Back and forth here, Arsenal gets it forward to Sanchez who's behind the defensive line! He moves to the box! Jardel tries to tackle it away from him, but he gets it back and has a shot one-on-one with De Gea! 2-0! De Gea doesn't get down far enough, it deflects off his leg into the bottom corner. United have it all to do at home! 34th Minute: Griezmann gets a free kick on the edge of the box Off the crossbar! Arsenal can't clear it! Shaw gets it and crosses it to the back post... 2-1! Mkhitaryan buries the header into the top corner after he outjumps Monreal and Anh can't do enough to stop it! The game is back on! It's halftime. Arsenal quite fortunate to be in front, if we're honest. United has dominated the game, but two decisive counter-attacks have the Gunners in position for the title. Back out for the second half. 47th Minute: United attacking. Tackled away from Morata by Monreal and Arsenal break on the counter! It goes wide to Sutton, who cuts to the center. He passes to Sanchez, who sends it wide to the open Elneny... 3-1! In off the bar! He blasts it past De Gea with perfect placement! Arsenal lead by 2 again! Beautiful run by Sutton to get the entire United defense out of position. 54th Minute: United attacking. They pass it around for a while trying to find some space. It goes to Morata just above the penalty spot... He blasts it right at Anh, who deflects it out for a corner! 72nd Minute: Free kick to Arsenal. Sanchez to take... It thunders off the crossbar! That close! United get it off the deflection and break! Hazard from the edge of the box, behind the entire defense! What a save from Anh! Going to his right to keep it out! The young goalkeeper looks outstanding today! 78th Minute: Arsenal on the attack. Ramsey sends it long to Iwobi, who takes a shot just inside the box... Oh, that's a poor attempt. Nowhere near the goal, and no power on it at all. 79th Minute: Off the ensuing goal kick, De Gea sends it to United players at the center circle. Mkhitaryan sends it long to Martial in the box. Both Arsenal defenders miss headers. Martial all alone.. He must score here. It's harder to miss! Anh saves it again! Bielik and Mertesacker give him a big hug after that one. It would have been their mistake. 10 minutes remain 83rd Minute: Some good passing gets it to Hazard on the left. He sends it forward to the onrushing Martial... AND ANH DENIES HIM AGAIN! Martial falls to his knees. He can't believe that one didn't go in! 5 minutes remain 90th Minute: 2 minutes of stoppage time announced. United attacking. Mkhitaryan crosses... Anh grabs it with ease. No danger there. United have it all to do in the last 3 minutes. They need 2 more goals to have even an outside shot at the title! But they can't seem to break down the Arsenal defense! One minute remains! 30 seconds remain! Arsenal have done it! After the last few seasons of heartbreak and throwing away the league lead, this time, they capitalize on United's mistakes to seal the title! hasdgfas
What an outstanding performance by the entire team on that one, particularly with our normal two starting central defenders out through injury or suspension. Anh was just incredible. Save after save when I thought for sure United would pull one back. We were behind United for so long this season. By the end, we had to just keep winning and hope they stumbled. Stumble they did, just in time for the match at Old Trafford. With memories of the 5-0 in the Champions League last year, I wasn't feeling too hopeful, particularly with our poor away record in general. However, some fantastic counter attacks led to three goals and the title. Finally! So close for so many seasons, and we finally took it, and it turns out I just needed to play more kids Season review coming once I actually finish the season. BoxToBox
Well done! Nice to see Bielik get time at Arsenal, a personal fave for lower league loans, and/or a cheap/free transfer to help a club move up a level, be it CB or midfield.

hasdgfas
Season Review 2019/2020 League Table: You saw the run-in. A couple draws from us and United on the final matchday, but the supporters were buzzing too much to care. Fairly straightforward table overall. Watford finished very high, fantastic performance from them. They took the overachieving spot from West Ham, whose loss of Belotti really hurt them this seaso.....wait a second. West Ham made the Champions League in 17th? They sure did, just going and winning the Europa League in a penalty shootout. How about that, eh? All Competitions: Solid performances everywhere, although I'd like to get past the Champions League Quarters at some point. Match Results: We found some more away consistency this season, particularly in the second half of the season. Squad Stats: If you look closely, you may notice Sanchez's stats, which are completely absurd. 34 Goals and 20 Assists in 47 appearances. He constantly popped up with huge games, and was definitely the star of this league-winning season. He picked up several honors as well due to those performances. Other standouts from the season: Seidu Mumuni(17B) with 16 goals and 11 assists in his first season in the first team. Jordan Sutton(17C) with 12 goals and 15 assists in his first season in the first team. Final Euro callups: Unfortunately, a couple of my players didn't make the final squads, but 8 players making it to the tournament is still fantastic. ----- Youth General Loan Report Solid performances overall. Still very disappointed by the loan performances of Danny Adams(17D). His attributes make him look like he should be performing better, but he just can't. Maybe he'll do better back here at home. Coming shortly, the annual youth screenshot dump, and then the 2019 Intake analysis a year later.

hasdgfas
2019 Youth Intake Check-In Sulaimon Kayode(19A) - 2019 2020 - Solid improvement from the most highly-regarded member of the 2019 class. With such a low finishing, he probably won't be a striker, unless I just turn him into a guy who whacks things with his head. Mark Dixon(19B) - 2019 2020 - Decent improvement. Way back in the GK pecking order. I don't expect him to break through ahead of some of the other young keepers in the ranks. Joseph Emmanuel(19C) - 2019 2020 - Very small amount of improvement here. Don't expect too much out of him. John-Paul Andrews-Harris(19D) - 2019 2020 - Good improvement, but needs to improve more, and quickly, in order to break through. Brian Doyle(19E) - 2019 2020 - Not a whole lot going on here. Mert Dinc(19F) - 2019 2020 - Meh. Ryan Jackson(19G) - 2019 2020 - Meh. Joe Hallett(19H) - 2019 2020 - Very solid physical improvement. I want to get him tutored, see if he can have a great season. If so, he may be able to make it as a backup. Danny Mcean(19I) - 2019 2020 - Nothing going on. Mitchell Murray(19J) - 2019 2020 - A bit of improvement, but probably not enough. Gary McGlynn(19K) - 2019 2020 - Nothing really going on. Duncan Lobjoit(19L) - 2019 2020 - Eh, fine. He exists. Ryan Medlock(19M) - 2019 2020 - Sure, he's a guy. Ricky Rice(19N) - 2019 2020 - Pretty quick, but that's about it Nathan Joyce(19O) - 2019 2020 - Nope. John York(19P) - 2019 2020 - Nothing here either. ----- Not a great class, especially compared to the first two. Only one or two players who I feel have a future. hasdgfas
Checking in on our nicknamed players Now that some of the players we've nicknamed have moved onto bigger better other things, let's check in on them! Drake G. Johnson(17M) - After being released by Arsenal in the summer of 2019, he was picked up by League 1 squad Walsall. He made 17 appearances during the season, but only 8 starts, 5 in the League. He hasn't developed very far past where he was when he left us, and it seems like League 1 may still be a bit beyond him. Ian Richardson II(17N) - After being released, he has yet to find a new club. Not a good sign for the 20-year-old Englishman. Joaquim Maria Felipe de Assis(17O) - After being released, he was picked up by Brazilian Serie C squad Galicia. However, with his only appearances being 2 substitute cup appearances, his future still doesn't look very bright. Aidan Telleus(17P) - After his release, he was picked up by Histon, a side in the Regional Premier Divisions. He seems to be an important piece to their plans, making 34 league appearances. However, they are not a good team, they finished 22nd in the division. He was last seen vacationing in Leeds, leading Histon supporters to question his judgment. hasdgfas
European Championship 2020 Update Let's check in on the big international tournament of the summer. Anything exciting in the group stages? Well, in Group A, Georgia qualified over Holland, which was a bit of a shocker. I wondered if maybe they had a great new regen come through, so I checked. They have a solid DL and DR, but no obvious new star. They just really overperformed. Otherwise, not a whole lot that's too shocking to me. Knockout Rounds: England with a dominant run to the title apart from a tight one against Austria that had the deadlock broken by Seidu Mumuni(17B). He also scored the opener in the final, provided an assist, and was player of the game. This was at Wembley! England's going crazy right now. I'll have to try to rein the lad in, everyone'll be trying to buy him a drink whenever he steps out the door.

hasdgfas
Jordan Sutton(17C) has been in the form of his life so far this season: He just will not stop getting goals and assists. Additionally folks, we have a new first-teamer, and a new starting striker. hasdgfas
January 2021 Update Premier League: It's a two-horse race, between us and United again. Hull(???) are in third place, and West Ham seem to be recovering a bit from their near-relegation last season. Champions League: And to think, I was a bit worried this season, as I tend to have trouble with Olympiakos. Although, this may have been the season to finish second, since Barcelona, PSG, and Bayern are possible draws for us, while the worst seeded teams we can draw are Juventus and Atletico. Do we get punished for winning the group? Roma. Not too bad. We should win this after taking 4 points from Real in the group stage. All Competitions: Match Results: Only loss at United means I'm very happy with the first half of the season. Transfers: Pretty happy getting a million+ for two academy-developed players. Youth Stuff You saw the teaser image above, but we have a European Golden Boy Winner! Well-deserved too! He's been on fire all year Meanwhile, Bas Douglas(18C) still won't stop scoring! Making up for Sanchez's season last year, since he's not performing quite to the same ridiculous level. Two other new first-teamers this season. Luke Rees(18A) was brought up to mostly be a universal backup defender, but he's been playing so well that he's claimed the starting DL spot over the two very old ones who have been playing. Danny Adams(17D) is a physical beast, but isn't really performing very well, even as just a backup.
hasdgfas
Looks like our newer focus on Youth is finally catching up to the very old players. What you may notice if you look at this screenshot is that 3 players have the "Ret" status. Per Mertesacker, Nacho Monreal, and Santi Cazorla are all going away at the end of the season. Sometimes I feel like I'm too loyal to my players when they get too old, but these 3 have been around for a while and I just couldn't get rid of them. They're just not performing anymore and I haven't been giving them game time.
hasdgfas
2021 Youth Intake Another disappointing intake. Just one player that sticks out to me: Stott looks like he could turn into a solid central defender. Probably not outstanding, but solid. Since the 2017 Intake, we haven't been hitting too much. We'll see what the next season of development brings for these guys, we'll probably get a hit or two I don't expect, as other seasons have been giving that too.
