Good stuff on the early Junior coaching upgrades

Edit: Ninja post from you ;) great intake!! The upgrades are paying off. The two wingers look great (interesting you got an Englishman) and plenty of players who could add depth.

Haha, cheers. The Englishman is presumably because my manager is English. I only had one of them in the 130 years on the old attempt, so I wonder if we might get a few more this time round.

We were really poor this season, but snuck into the playoffs on the last day with a 6-0 win before sputtering in them.

Well, we got out the groups, but got knocked out straight away.

Thomas Felici - 7.58

He's great on the wing.

He's actually not that bad.

Nicholas Brilli

Still one of our key players.

I really want next year to be the year we make Europe.

Delighted we finally have a keeper, because our current ones aren't the greatest, to say the least. I had some uncomfortable reminders about Luca Stolfi...

Decent CM, and it's a position we need after Thomas Albani (YP1) left us.

He looks not terrible.

Decent intake, always nice to get a good keeper!

Just out of interest, when another SM club comes in for a player, do you offer them a new contract? I found that this meant they signed a new deal and snubbed the other offer.

I did on FM 15 but actually haven't been on FM 16, because up till now they've always rejected the other SM clubs. Looks like I'll be changing that from now :D

When we were an amateur side I always did it with any reasonable player. Not like they can get a pay rise from it, but they feel that they are :brock:

We were terrible.

Coppa Titano:

Table

Libertas destroyed us in the quarters.

Nicholas Brilli - 7.72

He's really not that good.

Top Goalscorer:

Andrea Molinari (YP5) - 16

Developing nicely.

Manager's Player of the Year:

Thomas Felici

We probably rely on him a bit too much.

Aims for next season:

We've been poor the last two years, so maybe I've overrated our potential.

Cup Winners: Libertas beat Folgore 2-1.

A 5* keeper coming through is superb. Hopefully, he's our keeper for the next 15ish years.

195dfceed5b3fda837c456f76de082a4.png

I don't actually think he's that good. I'm not sure if he fits best as a ST or RM but we don't actually need either, so even though my assistant loves him I doubt he starts.

Also, not a proper tag, but check out this bloke...

8b76cc1bd4005e4bbe8f0c58782456a6.png

Could you imagine how good he'll be if he develops? Right now I can't really work out if there's a way to use him beyond chucking him on in the last ten minutes when chasing a goal and pinging balls into the air.

Season Review

Campionato Sammarinese:

Table

Schedule

Awful, awful, awful. I think I've overestimated us big time because of our first few decent seasons.

Coppa Titano:

Table

Schedule

Libertas destroyed us in the quarters.

Squad

Key Players:

Highest Average Rating:

Nicholas Brilli - 7.57

He only plays because we're weak at CM.

Top Goalscorer:

Andrea Molinari (YP5) - 16

I mean, he's ok, but nothing special.

Manager's Player of the Year:

Thomas Felici

Didn't actually have a great year.

Aims for next season:

I just want to take a step in the right direction. The new keeper should definitely help us, at least.

Other teams:

League Winners: Tre Penne beat Tre Fiori 2-0.

Cup Winners: Juvenes Dogana beat Murata 2-0.

How the team in CL qualifying did: Tre Fiori lost 5-0 to Zalgiris from Lithuania.

How the teams in Europa qualifying did: Domagnano lost 3-0 to IFK Norrkoping from Sweden.

Nice intake, but ouch that really was a bad season

Hopefully some of the young, new crop will be developing nicely and help you improve for next season.

Looking at the team comparisons, we are actually in the bottom three in the league for nearly every technical outfield stat (and the few that we aren't we're bottom five), and I started slow on my old save too, so I think we're actually performing about right, but the few decent seasons we had earlier on raised my ambitions too high. Hopefully we can at least make the playoffs this year.

There goes the most impatient man in the world. He got annoyed that he hadn't been getting enough gametime and refused to negotiate a new deal. He'd been here less than a year, is only 17, and played in 7 games (albeit 5 from the bench). Bit annoying, but I really didn't rate him that highly, so oh well.

Watch how he scores a few hatricks against us, though.

e23b9c0f90e3bad860beee10b90a0ea4.png

WOW. That's the first 'star' that's come through. He looks insane!

09bb6209de6f845c940aeff9c9f7aa38.png

He's not too shabby either. That's two superb wingers we've just gotten.

cc5ec242241772d94c5ada6fd44e617b.png

A LB with decent defending stats, decent physicals and can take FKs? Yes please!

305138e2a577cce3c503e9e5d3637837.png

His marking is terrible but his tackling is good, his physicals are good and he's decent going forward.

ccd9b3b63c6cf19af08138755225aa57.png

He looks like a pretty good CM.

63c03dbd18f7c10402ae48e088e9a2d8.png

He's just really fast.

9a4dbed81ee5158491e5cff0ad0e7112.png

Another giant, although this one looks more useful.

What can I say? This is an unreal intake. We've got likely four new starters on the wings, potentially one at CM and two interesting prospects, alongside all the other talent that I didn't tag. I'm buzzing :D

I bet Bugli never makes it to 6'9"

He's actually decent though.

Wow at Rossini. Wow wow wow.

I like Alasia the DR, (despite his inability to mark). Give him attacking instructions and let them mark him!

Quaranta is actually a reasonably balanced TM, (impressively so), but you've got to get rid of that PPM with a 1 attribute for long shots.

It's a shame one of your TM couldn't have been a centre-half.

Season Review

Campionato Sammarinese:

Table

Schedule

I'm delighted with our performance, but gutted at the same time. We absolutely tore the league apart but just fell apart defensively in the final - as we only have 1 Europa space, we aren't even in Europe next season.

Coppa Titano:

Table

Schedule

Not great.

Squad

Key Players:

Highest Average Rating:

Nicholas Brilli - 7.92

Our AP always gets the highest ratings, although Brilli probably won't start for us next season.

Top Goalscorer:

Andrea Molinari (YP5) - 19

Not bad.

Manager's Player of the Year:

Thomas Felici

Also going to be benched for one of the youngsters.

Aims for next season:

I think we should be aiming for our first league win.

Other teams:

League Winners: Fiorentino.

Cup Winners: Domagnano beat Faetano 4-1.

How the team in CL qualifying did: Tre Penne lost 5-1 to Cliftonville.

How the teams in Europa qualifying did: Domagnano lost 4-0 to Shakhtar Soligorsk from Belarus.

He looks pretty good. His mentals are off the charts.

b38287209410d832d14c42eba078dc32.png

Very happy with him. He'll probably start for us at CM.

594b662a6326e9c573a8b3425db61d74.png

Good technicals, but the physicals and mentals need some work.

f0ee9538558ee0461e5426d77489e207.png

He looks great, but we don't need a RM. 6'4 though...

Season Review

Campionato Sammarinese:

Table

Schedule

We've finally done it! We lost just two games all season, and this time we didn't mess about in the playoffs. We're going into Europe!

Coppa Titano:

Table

Schedule

That's the furthest we've gotten, but we're still yet to even reach the final. Not that I care too much.

Squad

Key Players:

Highest Average Rating:

Federico Colombini (YP9) - 7.97

I moved him to be our AF, and he was absolutely insane.

Top Goalscorer:

Federico Colombini (YP9) - 36

36 goals in 29 games is unbelievable - especially for someone with 5 finishing and 6 composure.

Manager's Player of the Year:

Davide Pasolini (YP13)

Bossed the midfield.

Aims for next season:

Retain our title, and start to drag Sammarinese football out the gutter.

Other teams:

League Winners: :D

Cup Winners: Juvenes Dogana beat Faetano 3-0.

How the team in CL qualifying did: Fiorentino lost 5-1 to EB Streymur.

How the teams in Europa qualifying did: Tre Fiori lost 5-0 to Pandurii from Romania.

San Marino National team:

2022 Results -- 2023 Results

Wow. I thought we might be able to scrape a win, but we took them to the cleaners. I think I underestimated us. This is going to be great for our league and club coefficient/reputation :)

b0b401bff6351e4b9b2eb210f2091c1b.png

They're one of the weaker teams we could have drawn, but they're likely going to smash us regardless. I think we're a long way away from being competitive in the second round. I'm just hoping to keep it close.

Glad to see you win the title. Was that your first? With the new 2.0 thread i'm confused haha! Either, well done. I'm really hoping you manage to get to a World Cup or do something really unbelievable. Always good updates to read too, keep it up mate and good luck against Maribor.

Thank you for the kind words :) Yeah, it was our first. We'd made the playoffs a few times and got to the final the year before but this is our first title, and our first entry into Europe :D

Giacomo Selva, San Marino's answer to Jostein Flo? 2 for Heading is abit concerning though considering he's 6'4

And why is the TV money getting lesser by the season

6'4, 14 jumping, 2 heading. I think I should be worried that he's going to score a few own goals from corners

TV money is reducing because our league rep is sliding down a long way. It'll start to increase again soon :D
