smp20
Thanks guys, I am still managing Fiorentino. I retired the second manager i was using with the NT (Marco Benvenuti) and applied and got the job with my main manager. I still dont feel great about the achievement in the world cup as we had only reached the QF before I had to re-load. Pretty glad we didnt win it so that i have to do it properly
MADA
without accusing you, did you edit the youth level up a little bit before the start of the game? the quality of your regens is just ridiculous compared to the other equivalents doing this challenge. sherwinriga
Awesome World Cup festivities and a new head coach was born! No edits, straight from Claasen's update. Could be a combination of higher club rep, league rep, national team rep as well as higher youth recruitment - lots are still stuck on limited it seems. I think that maybe the pre-mature success with the NT has improved the rep of the nation and allowed me to improve our youth recruitment. I don't know what the CA/PA of my players are and the out the box youth rating for San Marino is 30. More than happy to upload the save if anyone with the In-game editor would like to look behind the scenes.

smp20
We won the Super Cup! We held on for 50 minutes with 10 men and beat them 4-1 on penalties - we only have one player in the squad with penalty taking in double figures haha. This is a good warm up game for our CL group stages where we have been drawn against Bayern, Dinamo and Real Madrid!! Talk about tough, even though we are 3rd seeds now. (Don't lose any on any more min fee release clauses remember! ha) Pennarossa got a tough draw in the 2nd qualifying round and were knocked out by Celtic 5-0 on aggregate. La Fiorita and Juvenes/Dogana got to the EL 2nd qualifying round for the first time, while San Giovanni were knocked out in the EL 1st qual. The standard of the league is improving gradually, most teams have 5/6 half-decent Italian players while there are around 80 Fiorentino Graduates floating around the league. All of the clubs have either 2 or 2.5* reputation and every club now has a new stadium: Our values seemed to go up after the Europa League win - a good rep boost for the club and the players I'm sure. None of my players have minimum release clauses now thank goodness!

Ceching You Out
The photos are shopped! Editor! Cheater! I am floored. As anyone who's tried a challenge like this knows, this is spectacular. You've gone from borderline unbelievable to beyond fairy tale. Congratulations on the success! I would be very curious to see how the country youth ratings and such have changed in the background if someone took a peek with the editor. This situation would drastically highlight what does (or doesn't) change.

This situation would drastically highlight what does (or doesn't) change. Thank you very much I've had a fair amount of luck along the way that's for sure. As far as I'm aware, the 'youth rating' for a nation is static and doesn't change. Maybe it doesn't affect regens as much as people think?
smp20
Champions League 2034/35A very good effort considering who we were up against. Real Madrid and Bayern are still very, very good sides the latter being the holders. We managed to get a point against Real and 4 points against Dinamo to clinch 3rd place in the group, so we're having another shot at the Europa League. Not really the tie I wanted!!! Last year we beat them, could we do it again?
smp20
San Marino National Team UpdateNot exactly a great start as the NT manager, Marco Benvenuti would not be pleased . we finished 2nd in the Nations League, 1 point behind Czech Rep and ahead of Wales on goal difference.Poland are a good side, but we really should qualify from this group. It's one of those areas I'd love to dissect, but unfortunately it means digging around in the editor and likely seeing information that spoils immersion. For example, like you mentioned, does National Team success have any affect on quality of regens, either directly or indirectly? Does a country's youth rating or game importance change with success? Can a country's player personality prototype change over time? More questions than answers. Anyhow, that's neither here nor there. Let's see how the footballing world changes as San Marino and Fiorentino become more dominant forces!

Let's see how the footballing world changes as San Marino and Fiorentino become more dominant forces! NT Success = higher nation rep = higher ability regens? I reckon that's gotta be something. I'm pretty sure I've read that the youth rating is always static, never really thought about the personality prototypes. It's definitely interesting what goes into the 'algorithm' on youth intake day. Let's hope we can become dominant forces
smp20
Ouch what a stinger we were 4-0 up in the first leg as well!
ManUtd1
I recall people testing the youth rating, and finding it to be static. But, I can't recall where I read that. I would suspect that the national personality types are static, because they just set a baseline to spin off from and some nations don't have a set "type." Undoubtedly, though, there are many factors in regen quality -- youth rating being one of them. I'd love it if it were fluid, but if it (and personality types) are the only static numbers your individual success (at the club and national level) would still impact youth production. So perhaps that isn't necessary. After all, some of the regens you had in San Marino, smp20, wouldn't look out of place in a top league.
smp20
Youth Intake 2035It looks like we've got two good potential first teamers as well as two players who could become backups.Another decent striker through the ranks, he will be our 2nd choice behind Morri. Nice all round attributes.Mirco the Giant!! 16 years old and 6'8" is insane. We will work on his quickness and I reckon him and Zonzini will form a very nice NT partnership.Right back is one of our weak areas so he could end up becoming first choice.A poacher type striker who will probably end up leaving us to have a very successful career in the SM League. oriole01
Smp, sorry I'm late to the party. I was away from home and forgot to check this thread. However as soon as I pressed the "view first unread" button I was greeted by the "Fiorentino lift Europa League title" headline and as I scrolled down I saw a World Cup finals appearance for San Marino. I can't continue to reiterate how fun and breathtaking this thread is, and in my short time in the FM community it's provided some great excitement on the same level as real life footballing joys such as Iceland and Lincoln Red Imps. It's hard to believe that you've won a huge title within the first 20 years of the save, and you've now come close to winning even bigger titles on two or three different occasions, on both the club and country fronts. I'm sure that each time I check in I'll see something even more exciting, so all I can say is, keep up the great work! It's been a real inspiration in my own FMCU save, which you can see somewhere down the list on the main page. Cheers!

smp20
League Table ~ Champions Play-off ~ San Marino Cup ~ Facilities ~ FinancesDominance on the domestic scene as expected. Two big things of note: we now have above average youth recruitment and we broke the £100m mark!! Players (quite rightly considering their success) are now expecting decent wages (£10k+) so it's a good job we can afford it. Also, the league is up to a 2.5* rep league now and all the other sides are 2.5* rep themselves.
smp20
I have a dilemma. Massimo Giardi 22A and Stefano Zonzini 28A have both been unemployed for over a season and are likely to retire if they don't sign for someone soon. They wouldn't be any more than back ups for us now, but should I sign them? It would just be annoying if they retired early because for some reason they don't have clubs.
