Passing settings

I'm aware that when you change mentalities, your passing settings within the team alter (generally as you go more attacking, your defenders pass shorter and attackers pass more direct and vice versa).

Just wondering though if you select the short passing T. I. for instance, does the passing pattern still remain within the team, but just staggered down to a shorter setting?

Or does it change all your players to to one universal shorter passing setting?

Apologies if this has been asked before, I'm surprised it has.

It will just shorten the passing for all players so the passing structure will still remain.
