Tottenham 2019/2020 Season

A successful season as expected, especially considering we had our most successful premier league season by far, surpassing Chelsea's record 95 points by 14 points totalling 109 points. Played 38 Won 36 D 1 L 1 F 94 A18. I can't help feeling gutted we missed out on a perfect season, losing 2-1 away to Liverpool and drawing 1-1 away with West Ham (they got a 90th minute equaliser.) We won the Champions Cup for the third time and the second in the row, nearly throwing it away after leading 3-0 at half-time. Unfortunately we didn't add to our domestic tally, but did win the three shorter competitions: Community Shield, Euro Cup, Club World Championship.

Premier League Record Points

Third Champions Cup Win

Club World Championship Win

I can see myself staying at Tottenham for a few more years, but I've also taken on the French National Team role now. I'm only 1700 points away from becoming the best manager in history, so it's too good of an opportunity to pass up. So far my trophy count at Tottenham stands as follows:

One Euro Cup 2016

Three Capital One Cups Wins 2017, 2018, 2019

Four Community Shields Wins 2016, 2017, 2018, 2019

Two FA Cup Wins 2016, 2019

Five Premier Division Wins 2016, 2017, 2018, 2019, 2020

Two Club World Championship Wins 2017, 2019

Three Champions Cup Wins 2017, 2019, 2020

Three Euro Super Cup Wins 2016, 2017, 2019

So far this season I've signed Ante Coric on a free, Mario Fernandes for £40m (gave up on my Bellerin dream as they wanted £200m), and Bartomiej Dragowski as backup to Lloris for £15m. I still have some money left over, so I may spend it but it's hard to know where my team needs to improve, although we were hit by some bad injuries last year. Also forgot to mention, at the end of the season we witnessed a board takeover. This gave me a higher transfer budget than normal.

Nice YG - that's fantastic :)

Hit January in my season and I can't believe I'm still sporting a perfect record. Having said that, I've got the team playing some excellent football. Eriksen has really started to assert himself with 12 goals and 16 assists while Kane continues to score with 22 goals in 21 matches. Dele Alli is quickly turning into an absolute monster in the midfield while my defense has been ever present. Sonny has struggled a bit, but slowly regaining his early season form once I switched him to an inside forward role.

PSG came in with a 24 million bid for Chadli. He was playing well and didn't ask for a move, but I sold him as he didn't fit into my long term plans and the money was good to turn down. I'm going after Embolo and Dragowski. United came in for Verts and he was pissed I wasn't going to accept a lowball offer. I settled him down and he's still playing, but we'll see what happens. Liverpool tried to lowball me for Townsend, but I turned them down. I'm not a huge fan of Andros, but he's also played well and is homegrown, so I'm not going to give him away. I let Fazio go for pretty much nothing to Valencia as he was pining for more time and complaining. My goal is to sign 18 and under players so I can turn them into homegrown stars.

Hammered Chelsea in the CoC semi final and am really happy with this save. Trying to stick with my core players and developing youngsters

Absolutely flying at the moment in mid-December in my online save against my brother. I am top of the league by 4 points and have beaten Arsenal, City, Liverpool, United (brothers team) and Chelsea. Only reason I am not further is that Arsenal and City are doing very well, after them there is a very big gap of about ten points. Been slowly blooding some youth, Veljkovic has been a beast in the UEL in the anchorman role despite my assistant telling me he cannot play there. Shayon Harrison scored a brace to turn it from 3-2 to 4-3 in his debut against Dnipro and Onomah has been getting a bit of game time, scoring a last gasp winner at Stoke. Was going to try and give Kaz Sterling some time in the FA Cup if we got an easy draw but unfortunately we drew West Brom away. Don't really have any plans to spend in Jan and would probably accept an offer for Bentaleb as he has barely played, hopefully City come in all guns blazing.

Just gonna be that that guy and ask if anyone who's having success can share the tactic either as a DL or in picture form.

My save is a mess, nothing works and I've managed to turn Kane and Barbosa into absolute diddies :)

I'll send you mine tonight when I'm in front of my laptop. It has given me a lot of success, but not sure if it will for you.

I am having some success with this tactic. Although still in first season.

I've started my own save, it's not going too well mainly because I've messed about too much with tactics at the start.

But I think I've found one that works *hopefully*.

As usual Madrid are tapping up Lamela, so I'm trying to find a replacement.

I know all about Pione Sisto and how good he becomes but I've had him in previous games and want to change it up a little bit.

Was thinking of Barbosa maybe as I've never had him.

Halfway through my season, apart from a 2-1 defeat to Liverpool, we've won every game in the Premier League. We have Bayern in 1st Knockout Round and were knocked out by Man City in the League Cup. Also won the trouble already with the Club World Championship, Euro Super Cup, and Community Shield.

Sorry for the delay! My laptop charger stopped working last night, so had to go and get a new one tonight. Here are the screenshots as requested:

Tottenham 2018/2019 Season

Another fantastic season, winning five trophies and cementing myself as the most successful English manager. I'll definitely commit to one more season, but then I'm questioning where to go from there. Do I keep going attempting to beat Sir Alex Ferguson's managerial record? Do I attempt to win the quadruplet in another country?

Jeff Hendrick from Derby is a good signing and great alternative to Dele Alli if he is out or needs a rest. Play the identical same way. Great pickup.

Can't stress enough how well Milos Velijokic has played while I had an unexpected injury to Eric Dier and others. He has slotted into the Anchor man role really well.

Guys, I have the chance to sign Ozil second season for £30 million, £9 upfront and 21 over 48 months. Wages are £210 k p/w and an absolute eye watering £10 million signing on fee. I've got enough in the bank for it just wondering if he's worth it?

2020/2021 Season: The Setuple

What a season, winning seven trophies with Tottenham. Despite the success, I think it's time to move on from Tottenham in this save. I'll be continuing as France after having just won the European League, as well as looking for a new challenge in Spain/German/Italy/France. I'll of course be checking this thread in case I ever want to return to Spurs. In total I won 6 Domestic Divisions (in a row), 7 Domestic Cups, and 12 Other Club Trophies. In the world rankings I have 4610 points compared to Sir Alex Ferguson's 5016. So I'll be looking to take his crown with France and my next club.

For those with a Spurs save, I highly recommend Gaya, Embolo, Barbosa, Stones, Romagnoli, Cubas, Maia, Pogba, Tielemans, Lavezzi, Alonso as signings through your career. And do anything to keep on to most of your players.

Pretty pleased with the First season.

In the league I finished fourth. Only lost 4 games, however 15 draws restricted us from challenging for the league. Managed 19 clean sheets and conceded the least goals.

Best part of the season was winning the FA Cup. Beating Chelsea 2-1 in the final after extra time. Kane put us 1 up. Lamela scored in the 1st minute of extra Tim, having been on the pitch for 34 seconds to win it.

Europa wasn't great. Got through the group and beat Napoli in the last 32. Monaco knocked me out despite having a 3-0 lead after the 1st leg.

Carling cup run ended after one game.

Dele Alli is a star already, Dier is brilliant. Kane got 29 goals. Kyle Walker won fans player of the year. Was a massive part of the style of play along with Rose.

May bring a couple in, in the summer. Few unhappy players (Vorm, Davies etc.)

I agreed a fee for Barbosa, but the agent was demanding £110K a week and it only went down to £98K a week before the contract talks ended.

No matter how good the kid is, no way am I paying £98K a week when he's currently on £27K a week.

So instead I made some additional signings.

Sold Fazio to Norwich for £5.75m and also got £5.75m for Rose to goto Stoke.

I then bought:

Jores Okore - £9.5m

Fabian Schar - £12m

Brendan Galloway - £6.75m

Moussa Dembele - £14.25m

Predrag Rajkovic - £5m

But next season I will be looking for a DM or two, mainly because I think I prefer to play Dier as a RB or CB, and also I think Bentaleb will do good as my Box-to-Box or Roaming Playmaker in midfield.

Madrid gave me a terrible offer which I declined and now Lamela is upset -_-

17.5M upfront

5.75m over 12months

6.5m after 10 international games

20% profit on next sale

So annoying! He's valued at 28m!

My maths has never been brilliant, but isn't that over £28million they are offering? plus that 20% is brilliant as he's likely to get sold again i'm sure.

True, it came to £29,750,000

But I just think he's worth a lot more then that personally.

Plus I'm greedy and want the money upfront, and since it's Madrid they can easily stump up £30-£40m. I put an asking price of £30m for him.

I had a similar issue with Vertonghen. United offered 12 million and I flat out said no. He became upset and I told him I'd only sell if their offer met my valuation and he backed off. I'm greedy too and because of that I got 24 million for Chadli

I must admit, I take a hard nose stance with them. I reject all the bids they get unhappy and within a couple weeks of sitting on the bench they are fine again. Bentaleb spent about 2 months unhappy though.... January came and the teams came back with even more money! Worth keeping an eye on that and give yourself 3/4 months between August and January to find a replacement

Second season started well.

Got rid of :

Vorm - wanted to get first team football and got a good fee.

Seferovic - got the same amount I paid originally. Didn't do too much and Clough looks more than good enough to step into the no2 role.

Chadli - Bayern offered £20m. Couldn't say no, for someone who's not a 1st team starter.

Brought in :

Jose Giminez - loan with an option to buy for £8m. Bargain.

Mahrez - Big money at £28m but had loads spare and he looked the best available for what I wanted.

Season has started with 3 wins from 3 and champs league group stage qualification.

Beat Reading 4-0 on the opening day. Mahrez started with a bang with a debut brace.

Then young Zach Clough scored in the 88th minute to help me beat villa in the 2nd game. Son added in the 90th for the 2-0win. Finally a great 4-1 win at home to Man Utd. Vertonghen got two! Dembele and Lamela scored as well.

In the champs league we beat Sporting 7-5 on aggregate. Really promising start. Unfortunately Mahrez is now out for a few months after a really good first few games

Erm guys. I need some assistance.

Man City have bidded three times for Kane, I denied the first one, which resulted in me needing to talk to Kane saying why I blocked the move. I told him to help us get Euro football and he said fine.

They've just came back with THIS third bid!

7f91c729e1ce034019c350561446c945.png

Should I sell considering how much they're offering?

I'm at the start of the second season.

I do have Moussa Dembele (from fulham), N'Jie, Son and Barbosa as other striker options.

Link to post

I'm on the fence with that. The money is good but other than Barbosa I don't like the others as a main striker. Kane at least for me is beastly and I wouldn't let him go just yet considering you could get a lot more when he hits his true peak

Link to post

Just into Feb of season 3, Son is top scorer so far with 21 in all comps, just about to play 1st ko stage of Europa league and into last 16 of FA cup. Sitting 2nd in league 3 points behind Man U. Thinking of getting rid of Kane, have Barbosa up front and he is doing much better. Gonna give Kane a bit of time and a slight change in tactics. If he doesn't improve he is gone! But his value has plummeted to £14.5m

Link to post

I think Kane get me around 20 last season, in all comps that is... So he's not doing great for me either.

With that money I could buy the likes of Berrardi as well, or another suitable striker.

But if that's what they're offering after what I consider a bad season, what will they or others offer if he has a good season...

Link to post

Guys need a quick answer on this, just had a bid from Man City for Harry Kane of £72m all up front, was my top scorer last season with 40 goals.

Do i accept?

That money can pretty much buy you anyone to replace him so maybe its time to say bye.

Gonna sound weird but I think most of our team I would not sell no matter what the cost, just love this team that much. Kane, Alli, Eriksen, Dier and maybe Hugo I don't think I could bring myself to sell. Seems a lot of you are getting offers for Bentaleb, I wish I was. Just not in the first team picture and I know I could get a lot of cash but he is happy despite rarely being in the match day squad. Mason meanwhile is the opposite, constantly hounding me for game time and then I give him a few games but he still complains. If he does again he will be out the door.

Edgar

Just testing with Man City (most suitable squad without buying) post patch- won prem having played 34 games for 101 against 18 pts 90, so should make 100 pts. 442 with a dm but have to juggle the SS position with AMs.

So I decided to sell Harry Kane, he's currently in contract talks with them I guess.

I also sold Lamela for £32mil to Bayern Munich since he was unhappy.

So I'm looking at a nice amount of money coming in, on top of what I already have.

So... suggestions?

Playing a 4-5-1.

5 man midfield

LM, LCM, CM, RCM, RM.

Looking for a new RM, unless I play Townsend there.

Finished season 3 a disappointing 6th, top 6 was so tight though. Missed winning league by 7 points! Won the FA cup against Arsenal 1-0!! My first trophy!

Kane came good and was tied top scorer with Son on 25. Need to freshen my defence up though, so am looking at some replacements there.

I'm playing him as a CB.

EDIT:

I have a chance to sign James Wilson for £17.25m upfront. £5.75m in 12 months and 20% of next sale (not profit).

Surely that's a steal, and a good replacement for the outgoing Kane?

Other strikers are: Barbosa, Dembele and N'Jie.

Playing with a lone striker.

EDIT 2:

It seems as though I'm giving off the vibe that Spurs are a selling club again.

Man Utd enquired about Dier, I said 60m upfront. They come back with a £48.5m upfront offer...

What to do D;

I had exactly the same thing with Dier, I decided to sell and haven't regretted it yet as I needed the cash to fund a host of talents all over the team!
