I am really unhappy about an update that i cannot reject in the middle of a save (Steam issue??).

I have no problem with updating the game when I start a new career, but as it has been now with updates this often, I just have not been able to get my flow going and my save feels tainted and not genuine because of it.

No,i don't know where

Please include as many details as possible.

- Are you using an edited database?

- What anti-virus you're running

- Upload your save just before the draw should take place (FTP details are in the forum header in the bugs forum)

Short feedback about the revamp of the tactics screen off the top of my head:

- you don't see role/duty/avg rating on the pitch anymore

- custom view is buggy and won't add columns (FM Classic Mode)

- there's no way you can put players directly on the bench (WTH?)

- saved tactics are not displayed in the dropdown menu (FM Classic Mode9

You should probably put your feedback in the FMC feedback thread (because they'll be familiar with the layout etc), but I'd like to ask what you mean by this?

I thought this was sorted out...
My thoughts aren't many but they are exactly the same.

Apparently i know nothing about the players who have played for me when i move to a different club.

I didn't know it had been a problem previously- maybe I'd just not noticed it- but yeah, it definitely still happens.

Two things I see constantly (and I'm sorry if they've been mentioned before).

1. Both central defenders attempting to head the oppositions goalkick.

2. Strikers getting knocked off the ball in the opposition half of the field with a resultant attempt at goal by the opposition

I was just confused that you couldn't drag players to the shirts because no shirts are displayed for the bench positions. If you left-click on a position or left-click of a player without position in the line-up, you can choose a player, however, this is not possible for the bench slots. Will raise that in the bugs forum. Dragging them to the bench slots on the left is possible

That might be because of your resolution? I can see the shirts. What happens if you switch to 95% zoom in preferences?

I really don't get it why the midfielders keep going inside the penalty area in crossing situations when there is no-one for them to mark inside the area and by doing that they leave the edge of the area completely exposed and surprise surprise it often leads to a free long shot attempt and goal.

Wait- you can see sub shirts to drag names onto, as you could previously? I'd assumed they were gone completely for everyone. They certainly are by default for me- still not there at 95% either. Just trying 75% zoom now.

Edit: Holy cow, at 75%, they're there! Although I can't actually read the names very well now, so I can't keep it like that.

It seems us people on 5:4 resolutions have taken a real spanking with the UI changes to this edition.

Edit 2: I mean 5:4, not 4:3. Although I don't know if that's also the case.

Finances seem to be a bit broken. Played the first season with transfers off, so expenditure beyond the starting level for my club, and yet profit is a good 80 million or so below the real life results. Turnover appears to be the main culprit coming out a good 80 million lower than the correct tv revenue amount (only 50 million at the end of the year for a top of the Premier league club).

 Whoah, you just bettered FM15 by 10% for me. Is this a known issue? Will have a look tomorrow in the bug forums, as there is a whole list I'm going to post, if not, I will raise this one too.

Actually, it seems that Lawlore found that it has more to do with resolution ratios. Play around with the settings though!

If I have to be totally honest, the game is way too easy...

http://cloud-4.steampowered.com/ugc/35229207088214012/42E6A8C6D729D3168E0D1FB7625AEBDD08C4FA65/

I haven't done much, made only one loan signing - and it seems you can just breeze through the opposition. I hope that there is something in the works that is going to balance the ME out a little, because simple clicks on the boxes and not using any OI, simply overpowers the AI with alarming ease...

To bring this into some perspective (so to speak). My full-screen ratio is 5:4 (1280x1024), which gives the following outcome:

Tactics Screen at the default 100%:

tf1Zz2f.png

The same screen at 75%:

iy5jbHS.png

I'd report it to the bugs forum, but it's not really a bug, as such. It's just not very smart design of the page layout- given that the tactical layout on the pitch no longer includes the roles or duties (which is a discussion that's been done to death), neither the shirts nor the pitch itself need to be as large as they are. By making the pitch shorter, you could quite comfortably fit the subs beneath the pitch, or by making the pitch smaller but in the same ratio, you could fit them on the right-hand side as they are when zoomed out. As it stands, picking subs is just a pain in the posterior, particularly if one's injured and you have Unavailable Players filtered out.

Surely not right.

Just finished my first season in charge of West Ham and in pre season of season 2 there is a takeover bid for the club.

What's worse is that all the signings i had already agreed have been cancelled. :(

Surely the whole Olympic Stadium move shows the two Dave's are in it for the long haul?.

This seems like a massive error to me AND if those players go elsewhere thats my long term game down the drain when it has barely started.

Don't know if this has been raised but apparently Rafa van der Vaart 'has no intention of staying in football once he retires' yet he also 'has a preference to be HSV manager' It would be harsh on Hamburg to suggest they aren't involved in football.

I'm not sure if this a bug or if it has been already reported but I'm coming up to the end of my season and I have just won the league with Ajax. Arsenal and Marseille are interested in two of my players and they ask if they can leave and their reason was to play Champions League football. Despite winning the league, therefore I would already be in the competition again next season.

It seems like a game-breaking bug (if it is) because the two players caused a rift, had to set up a team meeting, morale of some of the players went down and it was all right before the second leg of my Europa League semi final.

Many balls in the lock happen, this is an old bug FM versions 12,13,14 and 15. Now the game has that happen more than 3 balls on the beam, totally unreal!

Something that has displeased me is the sheer amount of shots on goal in a game of teams of major and minor reputations, reaching 30, 40 kicks something that does not usually happen in football today (at least in Brazil).

And I repeat, many headed goals happen and especially coming from a corner, I think this has to be improved.

Free kicks hardly result in goals, I think it should be improved. In the updated free throws are key!

I believe he reported it in the Official Football Manager 2015 Feedback Thread 15.1.3.....the official thread created for feedback on Football Manager 2015.

Very, very funny.

The opening post makes it clear that this thread, the feedback thread, is for feedback. Bugs need to be reported in the Bugs forum. Weird, but it works.

+ The new scouting system is much better...

+ Transfer negotiations are smoother...

- The tactic screen... (enough said about that)

- ME has some flaws. Bulk of the goals seem to come either from direct crosses or flipper bounces from it. Thus if you want to exploit the ME wing based tactics are way to go. Now only watch goal highlights are AI scored goals are very similar and gets boring after short while. Fullback running besides.. cross.. either direct goal or some bounce.

- Corners seem also be second best thing to score. The "6 yard zonal" makes things easier but not liking these.

- Player / Goalkeeper reactions are slow (This has been said before but definately true....)

Very mixed feeling about this release and I have now shelfed the game and waiting for patch.

Feedback wise I have played about half a season now and must say that whilst the game shows a lot of promise I don't really see much difference in how different roles and duties play and how different strategies play. For example I have hit three goals on counter attack using contain but no counter attack goals using counter attack! A Roaming Playmaker seems to play exactly the same as a DM Support and as last year each striker role seems to play the same. I might see a difference if I use a structured or very structured philosophy I suspect but I use flexible most of the time and sometimes fluid yet even on fluid with one or two players on specialist roles you really don't see much difference.

Plus players don't seem to do what you ask in many ways with seemingly very little intelligence of their own. Poor defending with defenders hoofing it forward when playing a retain possession game (yes they do have options), players running into blind alleys with their dribbling doing step over after step over before being easily dispossessed, yet again extremely poor pressing no matter what setting you use (England last night pressing in packs - that's pressing), midfielders certainly seem reluctant to tackle, same old goals time and time again either from a cross or the keeper parrying it out, which is particularly sad because I had hoped FM15 would have had some variety in how goals are scored - once again in an FM extremely poor through balls to the striker, stand off means an invitation for the opposition to waltz through, poor intelligence on set pieces, and several other irritants.

I think this is one of the reasons why it's so difficult for some to tactic build. If you can't really see what each role and duty does it is difficult to play a particular player there especially when they fail to do what you ask of them. Kevin Nolan for instance can't dribble so I ask him not to dribble yet twice in the opening 10 minutes of a game he dribbles and loses it! More confusion comes when afterwards the opposition manager states that I have kicked his side off the park yet I have used default tackling and have hardly seen my players tackle once!!

It's within touching distance of being a very good game but without a clear difference shown in player behaviours within certain roles and duties it will be very difficult for many to create meaningful tactics IMO. Perfect example - I tried one game with 10 generic roles and one playmaker role with a few TI's to make him stand out. Didn't see any difference to how that player played to the rest of the team.

Just my opinion.

Very well written and hits the nail on the head in my opinion - experiencing a lot of the same issues. It's such a shame because I am actually still enjoying the game, but I know it could be so much better with a couple of tweaks.

One thing I have noticed in particular is sometimes the players simply do not do what you ask of them. I understand that part of the fun of the game is trying to work out whats best for you, the players and the team, and that certain players interpretate tactical roles differently - but when you are on retain posession and you DC and MCs insist on hoofing the ball up field everytime they get near it is beyond me.

Agree with all points made in Sussex Hammer's post above. Just to expand a little I'm finding no difference in roles at the minute. Playing as Liverpool I have 1DM and 2CMs in the middle. The DM is an Anchor man (D), and the CM's I've tried as BWM(S) and DLP(S). Also tried Box to Box(S) and CM(A). I also play control and structured due to the specialist roles I have in the team. I watch full matches, have played 5 friendlies plus 8 matches into the season, I watch full matches. The main problem seems to be my central midfield bunch together both in and out of possession, similar to how players bunched in an early FM13 build. Now in FM13 I can see if I have set a BWM as he will press players all over the park. I'm not seeing this currently in FM15. I thought early on it may be down to low tactical familiarity but a few games in these are all fluid.

I'm sure this will improve with further updates. To end on a positive I think the pace/physics of the ball and the action is spot on, this allows balls to be played in behind the defence without it rolling off the end of the pitch. When I played FM13 I played full matches with 1 notch up on the match speed bar as this felt about right. On FM15 I haven't touched the match speed. I can see the potential for this being the best ever because there are flashes of brilliance. It's hard for me to provide feedback because I play full matches so usually most things have been said before I have a half decent sample size. Keep up the good work, I'm sure this version will be a belter.:)

Speed of saving time, loading time and speed of processing is painfully slow. I really hope that there will be an update as soon as posibble that will bring optimisation at least as good as it was in Football Manager 2014 (it had the best optimisation and speed od them all).

Maybe I am doing something wrong but I think there's a big mistake regarding international football management. I just took over Netherlands team, and when it was time to pick a squad I realized there is no way I could get an insight in all available players. I mean players who are not included in National Pool list. Since my club scouting knowledge of Netherlands is not very good there is no system that allows me to search for all available Dutch players. For example, I have only three WB/R in my national pool but surely there has to be more Dutch players who can play that position. And my club knowledge of Holland should not determine how many players I can see on a player search. I have assistanst and what nots, ther has to be a system that would allow a national team manager to get a list of all available players!! Is there any way around this? If not, that has to be fixed or addressed. I have german, italian, french, spanish and french leagues loaded so I think the DB of players is big enough, it's not the reason why I can't see enough Dutch players. Like, my club knowledge of Turkey is non existant so Sneijder does not appear when I search midfielders of dutch nationality which is just crazy when searching for players for my national team! Please SI can you comment on this?

FM is my favorite game , but I'll stop playing until the injury problem is resolved . It is thus impossible to play with 1 or 2 injuries per game !

There is no injury problem. You don't even clarify whether these injuries are serious or just knocks. They can continue playing after some knocks.

Link to post

Not had a problem with injuries, kept my pre season sensible with games far enough apart they were all rested enough only having a day off after a game, then whoooosh!! 4 injuries in 2 days, 2 during a game ( 1 broken ribs/2-3 months, 1 gashed leg/1 week ) and 2 in training ( 1 groin/2-3 weeks, 1 twisted knee/3-4 weeks ). Also no I seem to get at least 1-2 knocks per game when the players are out for 2-5 days with things like dead legs, bruised shins even a cut arm, yes a cut arm keeps him out for 3 days???

Some interesting comments about differences between Mentality, Team Shape and Roles here.

Regarding a Contain Mentality countering more than a Counter Mentality, it's no surprise really as it is built on the same countering logic albeit from a deeper position.

I agree that there are potential issues with central midfielders bunching too closely together, but I'm genuinely surprised that people can't differentiate between a Roaming Playmaker and a DM (S), or a DLP and a BWM. Even if you aren't sensing it from the match, if you look at the underlying stats of these players, it should become very clear.

It always has to be remembered that asking a player to dribble less doesn't prohibit him from dribbling, asking them to shoot less doesn't stop shots altogether, asking them to Cross Less doesn't force them to never cross. There are occasional rushed hoof balls at the back which look a bit unusual, but these should be few and far between. On the whole, my view is that PIs seem fine. It's interesting to see subjectivity at work.

As ever, if you feel that things are not working as you would expect, the best way to escalate them to get them reviewed and fixed (where appropriate) is to raise them in the bugs forum, supported with the appropriate .pkm evidence.
