Never uploaded a save before, I could look into it when I have time.

In my game I went on holiday for 4 years and have just taken over at Burton, they finished in 20th place in Division 2.

They just got taken over, they have a worth of 32 million now.

The budgets just got announced for next season, we are in May now and the season just finished.

19m transfer budget, 60k wage, pretty sure I can do some damage with that!

I really don't understand why you're waiting for tycoons to take over clubs. Instead of taking over other peoples saves to cheat and take over a club with a transfer budget of billions, why not just use the in game editor?

Most useless reply in this thread.

Couldn't answer my question then haha! Can't achieve anything properly on FM so you have to take over a tycoon save and spend billions to have a chance of winning something I bet. Like I said, downloading the editor, selecting your club and giving your club as much funds as you want is a much more simple way to go about it.

You don't get it do you!

It doesn't matter how people want to play, there is no wrong way to play the game.

These tycoon saves throw up some clubs/leagues that people would not have thought of playing.

The save I am doing now for example, I was just holidaying a few years until something interesting came along.

Normally I start at the lowest league and take a club up to the top, I have done that for years but every so often I fancy a change of pace.

I was hoping for a club like Everton or Southampton to get a couple of relegations and I would take over there.

After 4 years, as you can see from my previous post, Burton got a tycoon in Division 2 so I thought , hey why not!

It just gives you something a little different and something you would not have done otherwise.

Dare I say, the second most useless reply in this thread? ;)

I'm sure you don't REALLY want a thoughtful answer yourself mate but seeing as you did ask, for me, taking over a tycoon save is all about the storyline. Being able to take a small club and make them into a powerhouse, trying to break the monopoly of a league with a top 4, 3, 2 or even 1 that win the title and UCL every season, or perhaps taking over something of a fallen giant and re-establishing them with the help of an oil rich owner.

Of course, any or all of that can be done with said teams without the help of a tycoon. It's not particularly hard to rise through the leagues and establish a team as a winner or to take over a team that has fallen away, clear the overpaid superstars out and turn the team around. Or to start out as a selling team until that bank balance allows a transfer kitty of £60-100m each year.

Personally I'm not one to be splashing £50-90m on a player anyway but it's just fun to firstly take over a team with the buzz of a tycoon and secondly, play a continuation save where someone else's universe might have taken different twists than your own. It's not about making my favourite club mega rich or boosting player ratings or finding out PA and CA by using an editor. I rarely play as my favourite team in FM. In fact, I guess I'm a little like yourself, as I can't understand why anyone would use the editor, other than to update kits and such or to purchase unlockables too in FMC. But it's each to their own, I have no problem with how anyone plays the game they spent their hard earned cash on and I'm certainly not going to call them out over it. ;)

Agree with all of this.

This Tycoon thread each year is one of my favorite threads. I always want to take over a club each year that get's taken over by a Tycoon, but when a tycoon usually takes over a club in a save that I initially started, I rarely go and take control of the Tycoon club because I'm usually pretty invested in my current club.

Being able to take a Tycoon club in another persons save allows me to sort of start "fresh" in a sense without having been tied to another club in the first place.

Bristol Rovers -> 16/04/2015 by Spanish Tycoon - Estimated Value at 80 million euros , relegated from League Two ( whould be an awesome challenge ) .

How do you know who's been taken over by tycoons? I get a hell of a lot of consortiums including a possible ex footballer but haven't had a message saying count the money yet. I once had a tycoon sniffing around my Southampton team in the second season but they drifted and ended up getting the same old useless director who has no money or no ambition.

Can anyone answer this for me? is there a specific news subscription I'm supposed to be signed up to? I usually load, England, Germany, Italy, France and Spain leagues and there are the odd team who appear on the rich list but never any confirmation...

I downloaded FMRTE and use it to search clubs; it has a drop down option that makes it possible to search for only foreground sugar daddy owners. After looking at the list a few time, I've got the pre-existing tycoons memorized and can tell when there's a new one.

I suppose you can subscribe to every active league in your save and uncheck all but the news regarding takeovers.

All these have popped up recently - no changes to db other that to make all chairmen want to leave - hence the takeovers. These are all 1st season iirc.

Scunthorpe - https://mega.nz/#!Q8wEGCSK!zd1JOqa8W7-STtFWMKJ0jR9xW_oj4lVLLHalYcd2K6E

Liverpool - https://mega.nz/#!QlxWiJBD!CLygi3pwhaTiIqPHUpKk_W-8b_8Ry8AayWyB-bQzM4o

Hull City - https://mega.nz/#!QlxWiJBD!CLygi3pwhaTiIqPHUpKk_W-8b_8Ry8AayWyB-bQzM4o

Huddersfield Town - https://mega.nz/#!hw4UHCjK!eZuwTrEKEbd1m5f6TcZARtlO3bSJySCZgi1qmt-llYw

Den Bosch - https://mega.nz/#!hw4UHCjK!eZuwTrEKEbd1m5f6TcZARtlO3bSJySCZgi1qmt-llYw

Celta Vigo - https://mega.nz/#!YkAQkLxL!Z9J40FB2i9sGFp_E-fD3JoYpbL6JzLbQqpL9uutJQt8

Added a few more too

Spurs: https://mega.nz/#!YkAQkLxL!Z9J40FB2i9sGFp_E-fD3JoYpbL6JzLbQqpL9uutJQt8

Heracles: https://mega.nz/#!YkAQkLxL!Z9J40FB2i9sGFp_E-fD3JoYpbL6JzLbQqpL9uutJQt8

This is the db I edited to create this scenario - it is simply all chairmen set to leave their current clubs. - https://mega.nz/#!YkAQkLxL!Z9J40FB2i9sGFp_E-fD3JoYpbL6JzLbQqpL9uutJQt8

Here is this moved down for all to see instead of scrolling right back.

They are all saved at different points during the game. I was on testing a db and saved each time a tycoon takeover occurred. They fall through a lot of the time so if you run through the first save they may not always happen to the same teams or even at all.
