Hysteria8346
How about the computer specifications for the new game? Would you need a really modern computer to be able to play it? Because mine is a few years old and can't really cope with the new games released and since it will include a 3D engine I'm curious to know the specs that it will require. Could this be enough to play the game smoothly? - Intel Pentium 4 CPU 3.20GHz - 1 GB of RAM - ATI Radeon 9800 w/ 128MB I've already got a DVD player so that's no issue. I'm just worried that my graphic card might be too weak but judging from the screenshots I would say it probably isn't but you never know. I just know that games such as QUAKE 4 do not do well in my computer.
Carl87
Probably at least 256MB video memory for good quality.

One thing I always found was speed of processing between matches to be an issue on my Athlon 2.8Ghz so I recently went whole hog, widescreen monitor, quad core PC. Seems I always use FM or as it was CM to as an excuse to upgrade computer you can keep you Quakes etc. FM all the way good bye social life once again :-)
Hysteria8346
Probably at least 256MB video memory for good quality. Really? That's a shame if it's true. I would like to be able to use the new 3D engine smoothly without the need of buying a new graphic card.
Neji
If you check the FIFA manager specs, they are very similar to FMs except you need a GPU, but a basic one at that. You should be fine.

Hysteria8346
Why would not having a DVD player be an issue? Because as far as I know, FM09 will be released in DVD.
bertieshufflebottom@yahoo. Neji
4 - 8 of RAM is pointless, tbh. Min spec for GPU I'd hazard a guess at 64mb

trekman
The 3D engine doesn't look that demanding Remember thought that the one we saw in the video was a work in progress and not the finished article. I don't think that we'll need anything too powerful in terms of graphics cards though so I'll be keeping my 256mb one for the time being.
WolvesNicky
Is this enough as FM 08 starts too run quite slow after a few seasons. Fm08 should have very little problems on that depending on how many leagues you run.
isuckatfm
Question for people in the know:- If the view is optional does that mean the rendering would be real time? Would this also mean that as long as the 2D is an option you could 'disable' 3D when starting or the option would be greyed out thus making graphics capabilities non essential if the dots do the job?
Neji
I would imagine that if you play with just the dots, your GPU won't matter.

wally13
lets be right your not going to need a super computer to run fm09 si are't daft its not like playing crysis or owt im sure 1-2 gig of ram should be ok and graphics card of 7000 or higher be more then enough at moment i have a amd processer 3400ghz 1.5gb of ram and my fm08 is really fast and i load, english prem to league 2,la liga, bundesliga, serie a,erdivise, portuguese prem, turkish prem, scottish prem, russian prem and french prem, all as playable

isuckatfm
^^So the FIFA Manager match engine is a different animal to the FIFA 08 engine? I always assumed they were of similar mould and the 'control the players' FIFA had a spasmic fit when I tried running it on my machine (that was 07). Thanks again
WolvesNicky
of course it is OT - How much ram memory does Vista HP actually use up? I think that could be the reason FM08 slows down for me because I run other things aswell, such as, listening to music, MSN etc.
The Smudge
Im not sure but i would have thought that if my computer was able to run games like fifa, cod4, bf2 etc, games which arent to old and have high graphics use i would hopefully expect it to be able to run a simple 3d match? Think i have athlon 64 2.40GHz, 2.5gb ram and a Geforce 7600GT graphics card should be easy enough to cope i would reckon. If thats ok the next thing i have to worry about is getting enough cash to buy the game im skint lol

Thanks again Yeah. The FIFA and FIFA Manager ME's look totally different. Well, maybe not totally. The FIFA Manager one is like a watered down version of the full FIFA game and it doesn't play half aswell. But also remember that minimum specs are just that - they will run but not brilliantly. I think 128 will run it fine though in all honesty.

kiwityke
I run on a laptop, so will probably struggle for graphics. But FM08 has ran relatively quickly with 15 leagues selected, so I might just have to run the game with 2d match engine. I can't wait for the demo now, to see if it will work or not. stinger061
I really think that if you can run 08 no problems it shouldn't be that much of a step up for 09. Also if you run other PC games which are no doubt a lot more graphics intensive then FM then you will have no problems at all. The 3D engine isn't going to be PS3/Xbox 360 level graphics, it will actually be fairly simple despite most people seem to be expecting to be watching FIFA08 style matches
