My Ivorian side got to 4th in the World Cup, we were 11 minutes away from the final against Spain before losing - by playing a direct style, it is about transitioning quickly - people that make those runs and dribbles to carry the ball after sitting in a deep shape. Blaming the match engine is complete rubbish, so best thing I can suggest is start learning how to play like it. If you add information about how you are playing then we can help you.
