and Ruud's interview is ace. as ever the papers have spun the juicy bits completely out of context, but he doesn't run united down at all, says any ill feeling with sir alex has gone, accepts his share of the blame for the way things went wrong and his comments about Real being 'on a different scale' are as part of a section of the interview where he's talking about the pressure and media demands associated with being a Madrid player these days.

legend. please let him be playing in this dire european xi friendly

can't afford Reading unless i get a job this week, and if a miracle occured and that happened i'd presumably be working next tuesday anyway.

only way i'll go is if i win the lottery or get a job which doesn't start until after then and borrow the money until payday. not sure i cba with the hassle really

Are we expected to take our entire allocation for the away section? As I could very feasibly get to this game and I was wondering if I'd be able to go about applying for an away ticket despite not being a member.

Otherwise do you reckon it would sell out as I could go and sit in the Reading section. Would be awesome if I could get a ticket for it as my travel would be paid for as I am travelling to London that day anyway for an interview.

United nearly always sell out at away games, these tickets might go to members though.

<BLOCKQUOTE class="ip-ubbcode-quote"><div class="ip-ubbcode-quote-title">quote:</div><div class="ip-ubbcode-quote-content"> Real Zaragoza are hoping to turn Gerard Pique's loan deal into a permanent arrangement.

Pique is currently on a season-long loan at Zaragoza from Manchester United.

The 20-year-old has impressed during his spell at Zaragoza and the Spanish club are keen to keep Pique.

Pique's agent Arturo Canales says the player is interested in moving to Zaragoza.

"We are discussing details," said Canales. "Both Zaragoza and the player are interested in a permanent deal.

"Zaragoza need to maintain good relations with Manchester United in order to pull off the deal.

"The loan is turning out to be a success for everybody concerned." </div></BLOCKQUOTE>

I can't say im surprised. I think its a mistake if we let him go though.

Pique can do and has done the O'Shea role for Zaragoza this season and he does it a lot better as well. I see no reason why Pique cant step up and replace O'Shea next season.

Sadly Fergie seems to see something in O'Shea that nobody else does.

well yeah, that was the next question. rangers can barely afford a pot to **** in. how would they stump up the wages and fee for fletch (not that'd be all that much mind, but probably still beyond their means atm)? if he goes, it'll be to another premiership club.

but this is all moot. he's staying. fletch iffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffb.

haha all you bandwagoning ***** are the same, i agree saha was pretty gash in the second half but in the first he caused them all sorts of problems and doesnt deserve the crap you lot are giving him.

as ive already said countless times hes off form but you are far too quick to rubbish him. i challenge anyone to watch that first half again and tell me he wasnt one of the main threats.

funny how ole's non-entity of a performance is quietly brushed over too, now that was a 'waste of space' if i ever saw one.

Ole was rubbish, that's been mentioned but at least he looked bothered - that's all i really ask. Saha didn't, he looked about as threatening as my nan. it's not a bandwagon or a kneejerk reaction to that late miss either, he's been **** for months now.

back on the subject of fletch - was flicking through one of the tabloids earlier (yeah, should have known better) and saw he was given a rating of 5 by one hack, accompanied by the comment "what does he do apart from run around and play five yard passes?". gotta love journalists not actually bothering to watch the game icon14.gif

Assists and at-fault-for's up for debate ofc. Suggestions for further stats welcome.

added:

Carrick goal

Ronaldo assist

Vidic booking

appearances, time/manner of goals, w/d/l ratios, attendances, reserve and youth stuff all done

not given an AFFG, largely because it looks like one monumentally bad piece of marking by the whole defence. MOTD singled out Wes for leaving Gunnarson to follow Ingamarsson but no-one seemed to be marking Ingamarsson so he was left marking two, hardly his fault.

Don't get the Saha hate at all. He wasn't brilliant or MOTM, but he did alright. He was generally making the right runs for when you're up against three at the back (a point that doesn't seem to have been mentioned when analysing the contribution of the forwards), which is down the outside of the trio, and his movement overall was good. He looks rusty, but he's been out for a while and needs games.

I also didn't have a problem with his decision to shoot late on. He could see most of the goal, and as he went across the keeper there would also have been a good chance of scoring from a save. He just made a mess of the shot. He's a centreforward who has the ability to score from there, and they need a bit of greed. It also showed at least he had the confidence in his ability, which is a good sign. While he had support, Larsson was marked in the middle, and Ronaldo was just as wide of the goal as Saha, but on the other side. I'd also say given that his shooting is better than his passing, i'd have backed him to score more times than make the pass anyway. Sure he ****ed up the shot, you can criticise him for that, but i felt the decision was the right on, it was the execution that let him down.

Larsson wasn't marked if he passes early. only by the time he's been forced wide and has clearly made his mind up is Larsson marked.

frankly i'd query the 'has the ability to score from there' part too, he's possibly the worst striker i've ever seen when clean through on goal with time to think and i had no confidence whatsoever in him tucking that away, especially on his right foot.

i stand by everything i've said about him. lazy, moody, mentally fragile, needs a slap. he's a passenger atm

He was clean through. He is left footed. I know that, you know that, he knows that. Hell the entire sTretty knows that yet for some reason instead of moving more central to get himself into a position to shoot on his left foot he took it slightly to thr right & had a shot with his quite frankly **** poor right foot.

The guy is abysmal at one on ones.

I don't hate him or anything & he is a very good striker but he just baffles me sometimes.
