Semi-Official FMM Wish List

Recommended Posts

Hello, Sega, here are a few changes I hope you implemet into your next game.

Couple of things I’d love to see in future versions.

FB_IMG_1521161605247.thumb.jpg.c1e78d404691295b83d45a86ee0a4338.jpg

1. Social Media Feature: as we can see the picture, this feature will show you a comments, critics, praises, funny comments & even a pressure from everyone on the game.

2. Sponsorships Contract: increasing our in com with a duration, deals and unique deals. it'll makes the upcoming FMM 2019 as the most realistic FMM game ever.

FB_IMG_15219345528168161.thumb.jpg.827f20f0e2d504f9f1d580070331dae3.jpg

3. Media Interaction: we would love to do any interaction with the media before and after match!

1521935285309.thumb.jpg.716ce8c33766c25bb3d2a5d987ada268.jpg

4. New Role False 9: this role just so flexible, as flexible as Messi did at Barça.

1521935286874.thumb.jpg.ee59c01fcddfef01b9d8e87ca6cc197e.jpg

5. Squad Number: it'll be really good if we can decide our own squad's number, isn't it? But we only can see squad number in playable leagues only. We can see Messi's number, but we can't see Akinfeev's number.

6. World Manager of The Year Award: who's the best manager in the world except Guardiola & Joachim Löw? It's us, FMM 19 players!

That's it for now, please take this into consideration, thank you for your time!

I hope everyone here are agreed.

1. Media needs to be improved first I reckon.
2. Which manager picks their sponsor? A message to say you've got more money from sponsors, yes. Picking your own, will make it the most unrealistic FMM ever.

3. Totally agree media should build up games more and talk about it at greater frequency afterwards - especially if it is a key battle in terms of relegation/title race.
4. Isn't this the Trequarista up front? If this doesn't act as intended I'd love to hear why.

5. Seems a waste of a feature when it has no impact on the game but to give the manager another decision and to slow the pace of a game designed to be quick.

6. Totally agree.

Can we have a women's league? Like the NWSL in America, as it would be a new experience to most whilst potentially attracting female gamers.

Also, I still hope to see Sponsors (attracted by your trophies and merits) and Merchandise (Player kits sold according to popularity with fans) to complement current finances.

Finally, an update to the match engine to display Messi-like dribbles, or amazing solo efforts where one person takes on multiple defenders and the keeper and scores!

Just to repeat as it’s been a while since I last posted it. I wish for pre competition odds - clubs and nations. When your 15 season’s in, it’s not always clear who the heavyweights and lightweights in a division are or whether England are the best country in the world, before they go on to win the World Cup. Tied to that club and country rankings as well.

An update to the enhanced match engine please. I find it rather silly to see things like long balls played to the furthest most player who 'nods the ball on' ahead of him when there isn't anyone there.

Crosses down the wing need to be improved as wingers don't have any variety in their movement and just try to cross the ball right into a defender's legs before the ball rolls out. Can we have some attempted dribbles before the cross? Or better even, some body feints integrated into the engine.

I'd like to see less free kick goals deflected off the wall. Where are all the clean goals? Can we have some curve on them also? Keepers can use more movement to show their attempted saves instead of idly standing on the spot.

Those are pretty much my biggest gripes about the engine. It is leaps and bounds better than the original engine but still have so much potential for improvement. A more fluid engine with more variety in plays to better simulate an actual game (instead of robotic play) would be heaven.

Finally, the new roles could use some role traits. But all in all, keep up the good work SI!

Edit: I forgot to also add that I hope regens change nationalities more often than not.. It takes a bit of realism out of the game when stars like Ronaldo or Ibrahimovic continue to regen as Portugal or Sweden all the time..like you can't expect Portugal to keep producing Ballon d'or players for all eternity..how about some randomisation so some other countries get some superstar love too!

For what it's worth I'd like to say that I don't want the game overloaded with features - the reason I enjoy FM since the days of FMH on the PSP and now on tablets is because it's lighter than the full game which I find too much.  FMM serves a great purpose as it is so overloading with loads of new features could ruin a good thing in my opinion.

based on my career on the 2018 version i would say im not finding it too easy at all, in fact my career appears to be going down the toilet and in over 20 years ive only managed to win the checkatrade trophy despite getting a team from league 2 all the way to prem, got 2 different teams to cup finals but lost them both, and currently unable to get LA Galaxy into the play offs and am probably going to get my 4th sacking in my career!

I would like to add that there seems to be a huge amount of dissallowed goals for me, and i think this should be reviewed for the next version, a disallowed goal stopped me winning the premier league and the fact that the 2 prem teams that sacked me went on to win the league one after the other suggests that the game stopped me reaching certain heights which has been tough to accept (appreciate it may be my replacements were simply better than me as well!)

Thanks!

A carry over from last year. I think we need more help in international management. It's very laborious, especially when you've just taken over a team, working out which is the best squad. There may be some players who are squad regulars but haven't been called up because they have a long term injury. It can be easy to miss that they've recovered. You find out after you've confirmed the squad and the media express surprise at your omissions.

I'd recommend an assistant manager style squad auto pick option. The other thing missing is the international coach/ scout to tell you the worth of any player who qualifies for your nation. Also on player search, when you use the filter for your managed nation, you should be able to see coach/scout ratings under view.

It's probably not a priority but that would help a lot!

Was looking through some of my old posts. I think this one on international management is still mostly relevant. The international team report is a good addition but is more helpful for picking a first team rather than a squad.

Would be nice if we could schedule our own preseason, selecting specific opponents.  For some people, 4 games is not enough or they play too hard/ too easy opposition, and this is unrealistic. This would give people flexibility to play less fixtures if they wished to as well. Preseason is a very important part of the season, and this could also be coupled with the addition of training camps in specific locations with a separate, more intense training setup. This would create a more immersive system that could cater more appropriately to the individual's wishes.

Better media questions

The only questions asked by the media are "X club is looking to sign X player in a cut price deal".

Could we make the media a bit more interesting by adding a few more questions. The following for example:

  • Being asked to confirm rumours that you would like to sign "X player". The outcome being that your answer could encourage the targeted player to want to join your club / or upset fans or the current 1st team player (who plays in same position) who wouldn't want X player signing.
  • Being asked to respond to rumours on whether you would be interested in taking over X club. The outcome being that confirming your interest in taking over said club could encourage a job offer / but could also upset current employer, fans and playing squad. Denying any interest in the job offer would please board and perhaps reward you with a board request.
  • Being asked to respond to rumours that your unhappy with your board. The outcome being that if you are a highly rated manager, any public showing of unhappiness to your board could either encourage the board to demonstrate their appreciation for you (a granted board request) or give you the sack. The board's potential reaction to any public moaning (think Mourinho) could be based on your reputation and success rate with the club.

+1 to that @Lillywhite Dean

I think it can go further as well and start to question the role of a current player in the media and by fans, or upset a star if they're on big wages. Plus a player may come to you and ask for reassurances you're in his plans.

I'd also like to see the option of delaying decisions until the end of the season. This would work really well when:

  • A club approaches you to become their manager (I was approached by Juventus with 8 games left of the season to go. My current club was on course to win the title and so I was forced to choose between winning a title or taking over the biggest club in Italy).
  • A player asks for a new contract. I feel the rate of players requesting new contracts to be OTT. One of my star players signed a new expensive contract and less than a year later, he wanted another new expensive contract. Being able to say "discuss at the end of the season" could have a dramatic impact on the players attitude depending on their personality type. A professional / loyal player will either get on with his job or be motivated to up his game to demonstrate why he deserves a better contract. A disloyal or unprofessional player will sulk and feel demotivated in his performances.

@Lillywhite Dean For the second one I think if more clauses were introduced and/or team status then the game could be more clever with it such as...
"Messi wishes to be the club's highest paid player, and requests an option in his contract to match the top wage at the club"
"Hudson-Odoi believes he has the ability to be a rotation player for the first team and wants his status to reflect this"
"Due to the signing of youngster Mina for a big transfer fee, Hummels feels he will play a key part in his development and would like a wage increase"

This will cut down the amount of contract requests while being realistic in the requests managers deal with (and provide context). Personality can play a part too as a professional player won't care about others' circumstances, where as a disloyal player may request more and threaten a transfer request.

A team comparison view, please. This would be a game-changer for me. I can't overstate how useful that is to me when creating tactics, and it's a huge part of why I play Touch constantly but barely play Mobile at all.

Fan/Media Reaction

I would like to see more enhancements on how the fans and media react to you and your actions. I'm thinking:

  • a news item detailing how the fans have reacted to your appointment as manager (similar to how fans react when a club makes a marquee signing).
  • a monthly or regular news item summarising how the fans are feeling about your performance as manager i.e. team form, player selection, transfer window activity etc.
  • a fan appraisal screen which could influence and pressurise the board to back or sack you. Fans can have a lot of sway on the fate of a manager and I think the game should better reflect this.

Transfer Deadline Day

Can we have a much more enhanced transfer deadline day. At the very least the day needs to be spaced out by hourly or two hourly segments to try and get deals concluded. So many transfer offers are made too late in the day and the window usually closes before the deals can be concluded. You could have it so that when you hit continue, the day proceeds by an hour or two.

Manager Reputation

I think more can be done on how your managerial reputation influences players and staff signing for you. Currently I am a world class manager in charge of Sevilla. I find it astonishing how unlikely staff and players want to sign for me. I think the following improvements should be made:

  • The option of bringing with you your backroom team when taking over a new club.
  • Your standing within the game should entice coaches, scouts and physios to want to work for you. In my current game, my World Class reputation does nothing in terms of attracting talent to work with me.
  • Players who either admire you or who list you as their favourite person should be eager to want to sign for you. How many players wanted to join Manchester City because of Pep Guardiola? You could argue the same point about Pochettino at Tottenham.

Staff Talent

Improvements need to be made to the depth of coaching, scouting and physio talent within the game. In my current career, the number of staff positions (specialising in specific areas) are woefully deficient. Even the top clubs such as Barcelona and Real Madrid have bronze rated staff.

I'm a long-term player of FM on desktop. Have recently started playing the mobile version for the first time, and am just reaching the end of my first season. It's going great so far but three major things that would really improve the experience for me are:

- Being able to arrange my team's pre-season friendlies and tours.

- Being able to assign squad numbers to players (this is an element of the desktop game I've always really liked, and it also makes it easier to identify players during matches).

- When assigning what training schedule each player has, I'd like to see the additional option of being able to give a player some time off.

On each players achievements it should display if they've scored in a cup final or league deciding game. When someone retires after 20 years would be great to see that they scored in 2 FA cup finals, 3 champions league finals etc.

Any chance of reserves having fixtures so that they can be match fit and ready to go right now it’s luck if you chuck them in so would love to be able to see who’s performing well in the reserves

I'd love being able to tell players to ease off tackles/calm down if they get a yellow card. I lost count of how many times I have had players sent off for two yellows. Currently I see no other option than subbing them if they get the card early. Feels silly.

If I had a wish, I would change at least one league with a Scandinavian country (Norway or Sweden) and Swiss or Austrian league. Why those spesific is because they have another league structure down to division two and it would be fun to could have some different league structure and different number of teams in the league to challenge.

I've been wanting the Scandinavian leagues for ages but I am fairly sure it either comes down to technical difficulties (database size, league structure etc) or legal rights to the leagues.

I think that they should try and improve manager reputation.Big issue on 18 when you start with local reputation and it takes ages before it goes up even if you do really well at the club you’re managing.

I don't know if it would be possible to add to the game this year with an update but I'd like the name of players with yellow card turn yellow during the game so I don't forget to sub them off before they get a red card

Now that MLS has been in the game for two years... are there plans to have it be more like MLS?

Or is dealing with the nuttiness of GAM/TAM/DP/HGPs/etc going to exclusively be a FM/FMT feature? (I can certainly understand why having all this in the rules engine for one league would be a mess.)

I think it would be cool if we can change highlighted attributes to any role we want. I know we can do it in training, but it would be a great addition if we could change roles of players that are not in our team. For example, if i want to buy attacker and his best role is target man, but i play with poacher, it would be nice if i can select poacher on his player page, so i can see how good would he be as a poacher.

You already can do that..

Just go to the player and search for position and change the role as a poacher(in case if it's a striker)

The training page would be much better if you didn’t see all your players that are out on loan. Also if you could just see the first team and get your coaches to train the second team.

A small request/suggestion.

Could the Breaking News screen which pops up when you resign from a club show only the career statistics for your time at that club only and not your whole managerial history.

I think it would act as a nice summary of how well you did at that club before resigning/getting the sack.

For the English league; Is there anyway of bringing the 'New Season' forward by a couple of weeks? What with the summer transfer window ending a day before the season starts, you have less time to carry out your transfer business from the point of knowing what your transfer budget is.

First of all, thank you SO much for revamping training and transfer negotiations. This has been by far, one of the best versions of fmm in recent years! If future versions continue to shine like this year's iteration, I would forever be a proud FMM day one purchaser! Funny thing is I've missed nothing since 2012

Anyways, with that said, here are some things I hope will be in fmm down the line.. :D

I would love to have more control during preseason, to make it more exciting and allowing you to do some planning for what is best for the team.

For example:

- The ability to arrange friendlies (against lower quality teams for morale/higher quality teams for training).

- Booking international training camps (of various costs and with each specialising in different physical/technical/mental aspects).

- Setting up fan club autograph signing/charity events/promoting merchandise (as a new but minor source of income).

Of course, to avoid slowing the game down too much,  preseason planning can be optional and by default, the game automatically decides friendlies (as it currently does).

The newer player roles such as Shadow Striker and Anchor Man could use a few new role traits to go with them. Due to current lack of traits in the position, I often find myself favouring other roles more (since there are so many green traits vs no traits at all).

I hope for more depth in the coaching department. Currently, there is no way to tell if one gold coach is better than another (unless you cheat using an editor). They even all cost the same. This could have been a design choice but the moment you sign on a gold coach, they simply become a forgotten aspect of the game.

Finally, some smaller tweaks I'd like to see:

- Make transfer negotiations easier when signing players who favour you.

- Old retiring football legends who you sign as coaches to provide better quality coaching than other coaches. It would be so awesome having Messi or Ronaldo teach the new kids!

- Positive & negative off-field influences, such as players coming to training late or distracted by late night parties/video games etc. Or even having a surge of confidence and focus after having a son/daughter born.

- More exciting but rare types of goals in the match engine. Like heroic individual goals with multiple defenders slipping over and rounding the keeper not once, but twice, before scoring. Or amazing Ronaldinho/Neymar tricks to get past defenders eg. nutmegs, chips, roulette turns. Or perhaps wonder goals like ridiculous long range Zlatan-like bicycle kicks. This would be bloody brilliant.

- More than 4 leagues available per save but restricting them to player count/top divisions.

That's all for now. Thank you again for the beautiful update and keep up the good work guys!

This !

Also would be great if we could receive transfer offers for the same from diff clubs at one go, instead of one-bye-one.

Plus the option of delaying confirmation of signing player to club instead of having to confirm immediately when the news pops up.

I think it would be interesting if there were addition objectives set by the Board depending on the clubs circumstances.

For example, if you're managing a modest sized club with a low to average transfer budget, and it has recently upgraded its youth facilities to 'Top', then the Board might say that rather than giving you X amount in transfers, the requirement is for you to develop players from the youth academy. You will be judged not only on performances and finances, but how many of the club's youth players are being selected.

Another objective could be to play football in certain style. This might be more difficult to judge but we've seen managers get the sack for not playing the "United way" or the "West Ham way", so you could be judged on the number of goals scored and attacking other stats such as number of shots on goal.

Re: training

I wish I could leave training to my assistant, but also that he would honour any changes I make.

Example: my assistant has selected "movement" as the focus attribute for a striker. I would like to change that to shooting, without necessarily controlling the entire training scheme.

I tried taking over control, changing it and then reassign the responsibility back to the assman, but it didn't take long before he had reverted my change.

So for the record I now control the team training. Although I don't really want to..

I'd like to see:

* Downloadable leagues. Having a fix set of leagues is limiting. It'd be great to have the breadth of leagues in the full game, but to avoid bloating the game, allow the users to download data for the leagues they want to play. What leagues do I feel are missing? Extra short leagues, e.g. Iceland or even Andorra. I'd love to play with a team in Andorra league and take it all the way to the top :)

* Take a top league like Spain or UK and have the season consist of games in 1 leg. This would help speed up getting through seasons with top leagues. More details here.

Thanks

With regards to the Saviour Commeth challenge:

• It isn't much of a challenge when your game begins with 10-12 matches left to play and you are only three points adrift from safety. It would be so much better if the challenge began with your team bottom of the league with 10+ points adrift from safety.

• Could it be possible to load up to four leagues. I've completed this challenge before and have then wanted to continue with my career but haven't because of being limited to one league.

First off, love this latest version of the game - phenomenal what you’ve done on a mobile app 😍

my wish list in no particular order

1. Pre season control

Arrange your own friendly or preseason mini tournie

2. Alternate International call up

Change a players nation if they are uncapped by their birth nation but have played in alternative league for 5 years. (So many Brazilian Scotsman desperate to change allegiance in my game 😆)

3. State interest in next management role

The ability to pick 2 or 3 roles you would aspire for (domestic or int), get warning when those jobs become available or generally create press buzz

4. More active leagues

The game favours the active leagues so much it would be good to have more active to the player quality is shared evenly (and give more options to move abroad)

5. Stadium imagery

Bit of an old school request but I’d love to see a screen that shows my stadium grow as I expand it and it becomes world class. I think they used to do this on Premier Manager on the Amiga!!

6. More control of reserves

I use my reserves to blood youth, would be great to take control of games as wanted and change the formation etc

7. Compare yourself

Be able to look back at your teams league performance vs previous seasons

I would also like the ability to skip replays. It's a bit jarring when you have to sit through each replay without being able to skip it just like full fat & Touch version.

You can turn replays off in your in-match settings I believe.
