Tactic Titanic: Managing deep in Northern Ireland

Recommended Posts

Hey guys,

Currently managing Glebe Rangers in Championship 2 (Northern Ireland), and I'm facing a true tactical sinking ship. I've been using two tactical options, both of them uploaded below for your viewing pleasure.

I'm trying to play a counter-attack style, because I feel I don't have the players to take full responsibility for posession. However, specially in the 4-5-1, I sense a big disconnection between the attack and the midfield. Defensively I'm giving away a lot of goals, with the opposition wingers consistely showing up alone with space to cross or shoot on goal.

Can anyone give me some help, I'm desperate!

Thanks in advance,

You have no help from the full back or midfield for a counter, the full backs should have at least a support duty. The AP is too far away from the DMs to link up with them with the attack duty and I would have at least one winger on an attack duty with the opposite fullback on attack aswell.
