JBoyd33641
When setting a scouting assignment, I noticed there is "Players - preferred Region)". What is this? What is the difference from sending them to a region through the region category? Thank you for the help.
borobadger
It might be players who would prefer to play in that region. Not really sure though
Pelz
Quoting Alex Crawford on the SI Testing Team from a relevant thread here.... ''It's an amalgamation of the Known & New talent searches from FM13. The scout will first report on any players he is immediately aware of from his own knowledge, from there he will then head off looking for previously unknown players, when on assignment the scout will be more focused on increasing knowledge than they would be when on a normal region assignment.'' Hope that helps.
JBoyd33641
Thank you! Do you send scouts on this, or should I do normal region scouting?
Pelz
Nowadays I actually only ever use the preferred region option, I find it helps find a greater variety of player, unearths little gems and increasing knowledge this way will benefit you in the long run. Always found I was just being recommended the same players over and over again so thought I'd do things this way. As with anything in FM though, it all depends on the club you're managing and what sort of players you're looking for. If you're at a massive club at look to sign established stars, etc, stick with the general method. If at a smaller club or money's tight I use preferred region. All a matter of preference really. Takes a little time to pay off, but certainly worth implementing.
