chris_davies45
Hi, Can somebody please advise which laptop is the best from the choices below. Are they decent laptops or all unsuitable for FM? Would I be better waiting till after Christmas or will the price not come down? Thanks. http://www.pcworld.co.uk/gbuk/laptops-netbooks/laptops/laptops/packard-bell-easynote-te69kb-15-6-laptop-silver-black-21737253-pdt.html#longDesc http://www.pcworld.co.uk/gbuk/laptops-netbooks/laptops/laptops/hp-pavilion-15-e092ea-15-6-laptop-red-21449714-pdt.html#longDesc http://www.pcworld.co.uk/gbuk/laptops-netbooks/laptops/laptops/toshiba-c50d-a-13g-15-6-laptop-21731465-pdt.html#longDesc
JameScott
If it's not urgent perhaps you could wait until after Christmas as see if there's anything in the sales.
Silent_Thunder
First off, avoid the HPs, everyone I know including people technologically minded has had awful experiences with HP laptops. They tend to have poor air circulation, which leads to all sorts of overheating problems if you run anything processor heavy, which FM definatly falls under. That said, of those you'd want the Toshiba, as CPU is key. However you'd be better off trying to find one with an i5 processor, because 2GHZ is a bit on the low side, and it will severely limit how many leagues you can comfortably run. But the memory and HD is great on those. Off the top of my head looking at that site, if you're willing to shell out another £50 from the HP you listed, this one would be great. http://www.pcworld.co.uk/gbuk/laptops-netbooks/laptops/laptops/toshiba-satellite-c55-a-1n1-15-6-laptop-21731464-pdt.html
Butters76
HDD's are the bottleneck in any modern system. Go for a system with either 1 SSD + 1 HDD or 2 HDDs in raid. A single HDD will kill performance in any modern system.
Welshace
PC world is , and always will be, overpriced. Consider buying from another supplier and do so after christmas as deals will be available all over.
