I'm guessing that Preferred is the role the player wants to play whereas the Recommended is the role that the assistant coach thinks he should play, but why the discrepency? SI Staff Marc Vaughan Posted November 4, 2013 SI Staff Share Posted November 4, 2013 Both are just 'suggestions' and opinions - one is how you coach believes the player should work to get the best out of him, the other is how the player himself prefers to play ... so for instance Beckham (back in the day) might have preferred a 'Central Midfielder' role ... but his coaches might have thought he was most effective as a 'Winger' ...
