FM14 TACTIC - "THE FULCRUM" - Back to Back Promotions + Cup Win

Recommended Posts

Hmmm, ok thanks for the info.

Surely the update is today!

Will review everything thing then.

So you think v2 was better?

For me personally, yes although my strikers didn't score as much, my midfield chipped in with quite a few, which with V3 isnt happening as much (They do score occasionally) But i still can't argue, this tactic has been fantastic for me overall. But on the flip side with V3 i like the fact the strikers come back to help out in Midfield and defence a little.

My strikers have been utterly woeful this season. A combined 10 goals between 4 of them after 25 games. This combined with a leaky defence often results in crappy scorelines like this:

3o0u.png

And both my goals were from my ACM!

The poacher has great attributes for the role and was on fire in the division below. The false 9 is Pazzini, a new signing with great Finishing and Composure (among other stats). Yet both seem utterly incapable of finding the net.

OK guys,

Wasn't happy with v3, so i've taken the best bits of v2 & v3 and produced.................... you guessed it v4.

Gauvner you're gonna like this.

http://www.mediafire.com/download/ak73hbajgazbmsi/The%2520Fulcrum%2520v4.tac

A few bits have changed.

Happy with the team instructions i've settled on. Feel I have that optimal for the tactic now.

The F9 is back. Along with a Complete Forward Attack.

We have converted our DM/Anchor to a DM/Regista. He is essentially a 'Quarterback' operating infront of the defence with direct passing on enabling him to hit the front quickly when the opportunity arises.

Due to the way the playmaker function works a lot off 'stuff' goes directly though him. make sure he is an outstanding passer, see below.

As our playmaker is now in the DM role we dont want another playmaker directly infront of him so the central midfielder role has been changed from advanced playmaker to central midfielder/attack. more of an out and out goal scoring threat.

We are well set up to get quick goals on the break.

First 2 competitive games of the season. Euro qualifying. tactic not yet fluid.

Say hello to 30 shots on goals again.

Sorry i'm going to have to rush this out. I'm moving house today and i'm not sure what the internet situation will be for the next few days.

Can still post in forum via mobile.

Its the best of v2 and v3 so hopefully you will get good results.

Good luck all :brock:

p.s make sure your DM looks a bit like this.

Nice one mate, looking forward to trying v4. Good luck with the house move - I know how stressful they can be!

Cheers dude, there's lots of work to do in the house so i'm worried about getting in my FM fix. Might be a few 5am sessions whilst 'she who must be obeyed' is still asleep......

Hi Mr U Rosler, firstly really big big big thanks for your fantastic tactic & the support you give us about it

Here's a report of my whole first season playing with v2. As you can see, I choose Iceland First Division and I really had an incredible season. Sure, squad wasn't bad at all (predicted as 4th and not so away from favourite teams), but got promoted easily and playing a fantastic football (best defence, best attack, points record...). The most important thing, I always "felt" to have games in my hands, also in League Cup final and 4th final National Cup, the only matches I lost bloodily but "fighting bravely". And, as I'm an "extended highlights" player, the thing I appreciate is that playing this tactic you can see a logical work on the field, not simply a road to success

So, I have to say I didn't try v3, 'cause the couple poacher/F9 worked really well for me (their four key attributes weren't exceptional but, sure, very solid, and the poacher has an additional jumping reach 18 that solved a lot of problems in "those" games it seems you find a superkeeper in front of you).

Well, Premier Division is waiting for us, but I think we can have a good season, anyway I'm ready to try Pipoli's Fulcrum DEF (thanks for your work, mate, it seems a good option against big teams, too  ) if something went wrong...

Mr U Rosler you have impeccable timing! Just ended the 3rd season with Grasshoppers (Basel only won it by 10points and i finished 2nd) So no trophy or success as such this season, but with my slump in form 2nd is a success i am happy about. I already like the look of the tactic. Once i've had a couple of games with it, i will make sure to give you an update!

Thank you once again!

Thanks guys. Still really waiting for the update but it seems v2 is the version to beat, interested to see how v4 gets on in comparison.

An interesting experiment over the weekend whilst we're stuck with 14.1.3.

Keep me posted as I won't be playing much, painting to do....... Grrrrrr

Awaiting eagerly! Really curious to know how it goes in a totally different environment than Brazilian First Division. Good luck and congratulations on your feats!

Just a super ultra quick update, first game, a 1-1 draw with V4. Overall from what i have seen (And its not much) i like the look of the tactic, my new F9 striker did the job and scored only for the opposition to equalize from their only shot on target in the 94th minute. Obviously this tactic isn't fully fluid yet and i have a couple of new players to bed in. But i am truly looking forward to this season!

Just a little love for V3 using (fully fluid) in League 2, currently top at Christmas by 10 points, best def, and most goals scored (both Strikers 10+) with a previously non league team with only 2/3 league 2 standard players (and no cheating of course)

Will switch to V4, if the usual post Christmas / dodgy mid season blip turn up as usual

Big thanks to Mr Rosler, hope the house move goes well mate, and well done !

I'll give V4 ago next season :) I just finished my second full season with V2, ended with a treble including 99 points in the league 90 GA 23 AG.

The F9 got 34 goals, the AP 21 (not sure how) and the two rotated poachers getting 15 and 17. Overall I'm absolutely delighted with V2 - nice work Mr U Rosler, I'm keen to see how things change with V4!

There seemed to be alot more emphatic results this season including wins such as 7-0 v Celtic, 8-0 v Everton and 6-0 v West Ham (twice)

I have used all the versions since v2 with my Partick Thistle save. v2 was good but i thought it leaked goals a little too much. V3 seemed tighter at the back i did however chnage the right sided striker to attack and it seemed to work better. Striker scored 39 goals in 47 games won the scottish treble and got to the league stages of the cl were we where hopelessly outclassed so happy with that season

Now just stating a season with v4 so will use it and see how it goes.

Thank you Mr Rosler for all of them but especially for V4 - I think you;ve definitely got the best our of both tactics here - goals, ccc's, excellent player ratings across the board. I'm Newcastle in 2018 and am well on course for the league and Cl double (drawn v Chelsea in semis but smashed Real in the 1/4's). Hulk excelling in the F9 role (re-training required) and Adam Campbell (developed amazingly well) or Javier Hernandez in the CF. Full backs consistently get outstanding ratings (I have Corchia and Alex Sandro) and CB's also (on V2 and V3 I felt the right CB always struggled). Plenty of goals from midfield still (I have Ward-Prowse with a 7.78 average by April) but he is on all my set pieces so plenty of assists.

All in all an excellent tactic - I won;t post screenshot of results up (don;t know how!) but its virtually 'green dot' wins across the screen.

Thank you Mr Rosler!

Hi Mr Rosler, according to your "golden rule about 4 attributes", what do you suggest for new DM Regista (as we see, Passing is the first) in v4 ? And same question about "new" central midfielder/attack... v2 is still working very well for me (preseason, 2nd year now), but as we know a season could be sooooo long and I'd like to have a "three tactics set" v2 + v4 + Pipoli's DEF....

Thanks in advance, mate...

Thanks dude, thats great to hear as I haven't been able to play for a few days.

Looking forward to giving it a go under the new ME.

Have you been scoring many from corners and indirect free kicks?

Don't want loads but 10 league goals from corners and 5 from iindirect free kicks would be good.

Very close to loosing my job as Grasshoppers manager, this season i have been struggling, but dont think its the V4's fault, possibly to many transfers in and not enough time to gel, along with misfiring strikers. Where is the update?!

I still can have in excess of 20 shots a game, half on target and a few CCC without scoring, also a fair portion of my shots are getting blocked by defenders legs, For me, i love the way the tactic plays but i think i need to wait until the new update.

Ok,

Longshots vs finishing.

The way the ME works as I understand it.

Shots from 22 yards and in use finishing attribute.

Shots from 23 yards or further use long shot attribute.

In other words, inside penalty area 'finishing', outside area 'longshot'.

Think about that, I would estimate that under the current ME about 50% of your strikers shots are from outside the box.

So if your striker has 18 finishing and 6 longshots then approx half his goal attempts are a waste of time.

In this tactic longshots will be even more important for your midfielders.

When I update everything after the update I will review key attributes to reflect this,

Going to try V4 tonight.

Have been running V3 with Lincoln City in the Skrill Premier and results have been on and off - some fantastic big wins, 7-1 and 6-0, but also some losses, although usually still with more shots on goal and decent possession.

What I was wondering about - you have "Allow players to be more expressive" on and for a few players (strikers & AP) you have "roam from position".

A team like Lincoln have the creativity of a small rock. Should I remove these instructions for them or would that destroy the tactic?

A word from Paul C on the current status for the next update:

Nothing has changed. We ran into some unexpected issues that have delayed us and its an ongoing, frustrating process. No date set as a result.

Sounds like they solved some issues but created a big showstopper on the way without knowing what to do about it :(

v2 still doing the business for me tonight with my Roma team. 11 games played, 8 wins, 2 draws and 1 loss. We are also the in form team at the moment and scoring from lot of set plays, in particularly corners but have some good set piece specialists and good determined headers of the ball in the box.

Is there a good way to set up corners with this tactic? I'd be interested if you could share how you score from them as i rarely do. Thanks

I am using the default settings but I have 3 players in my first team squad who are rated 19-20 on corners and free kicks. I then have 5 players in the team that are heading 19-20 and all with determination of 20 and a good jumping reach. Might be the reason why...I'm no expert like Rosler but we score from set plays almost every game.

That's good feedback. Thanks.

Still haven't played 14.1.4. (God I hate win 8).

Driving a 50 mile round trip tomorrow so I can physically stick a wire in the back of my PC and get the update.

Hopefully will be back in business then.

Finished my first season using V4 as Southampton, finished 8th and won the FA Cup. Also a quick question, do we still use the recommended skills listed under the poacher option on the first post for the complete forward that it replaces in V4?

Hi, yeah I want to revamp the thread (or start fresh one) but as I hsvey played 14.1.4 I'm holding off.

Based on my understanding of the finishing/longshot relationship for the complete forward I would go.

Finishing

Longshot

Composure

Off the ball

Switched to V4 at start of season in L1, only change I have is that I use the assman for opp instruction,

Currently second and in JP trophy final, no change after the patch, working very well (With a very small team Concord Rangers, wage budget 35k per week, picked up some nice kids in my3 seasons in L2, all on decent long term, cheap deals, who are progressing very well, I always sign kids 17-21 and get rid once they hit 26+ :) )

I'm running another save along side, with my own tweaked version of this (max possession, pressure football, same formation), but still have some wrinkles to iron out)

Thanks again

v4 is working very well for me with Wolverhampton, used it for half season in L1 placed second, currently on top of championship in November 2014. A tip for the midfield, Jay Spearing he got the recommended stats both for DM and the BTB.

OK, i,'m on 14.1.4

I like what I see however i've had 3 red cards in my first 2 matches. Still managed to beat Barnsley 4-0 with 9 men for most of the game.

Back to back hat-tricks from my F9!

Anyway, cant afford to get men sent off, I've added 'stay on feet' to team instructions to see if that sorts it. If not I will have to add 'ease off tackles' to to player instructions, but I don't really want to do that.

Im trying another tactic at the mo (keeping your for my whitehawk games) and have discovered with the new update gett stuck in does not greatly change the number of cards you get..... whereas stay on feet tends to let the opposition run you around the park.
