I was exploring the finer details of FM last night and I made an interesting discovery. At the start of the game, I could not take over Kyrgyzstan and Turkmenistan even though I loaded all players from those nations. Out of interest I decided to see if I added a new manager to the game at this point whether I could play as either nation. Much to my surprise I found that both countries have now become playable teams in FM!

(some of you probably already knew this, but I've never seen that before in all the years I've been playing FM/CM). </div></BLOCKQUOTE>

I had no idea that was possible \o/

More of the same at the start of the second half. Then after 63 minutes, AC Milan win a corner. From the left Daniel Carvalho crosses it to the back post, where Hermandinho is hovering, poised to show his strikers how to blooming finish. 1-0. </div></BLOCKQUOTE>

Ain't that so eh? That'll teach those lousy strikers!

Sun 31st Jan: Parma (19th) v (5th) AC Milan – League Match

Hermandinho starts for AC Milan. Mick Bubble starts on the bench. It appears Koppers is being frozen out of action at AC Milan at the moment.

Gilardino almost opens the scoring after 18 minutes after dribbling half the length of the pitch before firing at the keeper.

22 minutes gone and Daniel Carvalho sends a Parma freekick into his own net. 1-0.

Just as the game approaches halftime it looks as if AC Milan have scored a belter from 30 yards, only to see the flag go up as Gilardino is ruled offside.

HT: Parma 1 v 0 AC Milan

Half Time Stats

AC Milan pile on the pressure in the second half but can’t find a way through.

Hermandinho is subbed after 81 minutes, with Mick Bubble coming on as AC Milan move to a 4-2-4 formation.

Week ending Sunday 31st January 2010

Ghoolbi Dumats has been criticised for his recent poor form (7-7-7-8-5), which is a tad harsh. However, Dumats has said he has been disappointed with his recent form.

In a last minute dash and grab on the transfer market, Marseille (£5.75m) and Cagliari (£7m) have made bids for Ryan. Marseille’s bid is rejected but the bid from Cagliari is accepted. Ryan agrees term with Cagliari, stating that he is looking forward to using their training facilities. The press also believe the opportunity to return to Italy was too good to turn down.

Gianfranco Zola has piped up in saying that bringing Ryan to Cagliari could upset the harmony of the team. If I remember correctly, the same sentiment was felt in some quarters of Zaragoza when they first signed him!

In another surprise late development, Everton have had a £10.9m bid for Gary McNeil accepted by Real Madrid. Unfortunately time beats Everton as terms are not agreed in time. McNeil currently also has interest from Chelsea, Man Utd, Inter Milan. Marseille, Cagliari and Valencia.

Fabio Cannavaro is appointed the new manager of Napoli.

Freealdinho has a bruised shin and will be out for a week.

Marcus Cook is wanted by Chelsea.

Player Cam for February will focus on… Samaras Taraldo at Man Utd.

Samaras Taraldo starts the game for Man Utd. Pablo Gonzalez starts on the bench for Chelsea.

Taraldo has had a good first half with several challenges and headers at the back.

HT: Chelsea 0 v 0 Man Utd

Half Time Stats

Chelsea are the better team at the start of the second half. Taraldo makes a mistake which lets in Cesar Delgado, but his shot is well saved by Kuszczak.

Man Utd equalise 4 minutes later when Carrick plays a pinpoint pass through to the Palacio who finishes nicely. 2-2.

With 11 minutes to go Taraldo plays a suicidal back pass across his goal and it looks for the all the world as if the Everton striker will have a simple tap in - but alas no, as Rio Ferdinand steps up to the plate and does the job of the Everton forward himself, smacking the ball into the net. The plonker. 3-2.

With 5 minutes to go though, Man Utd equalise yet again – Defoe with his second of the game after a cross from Ronaldo. 3-3.
