Why does my lone striker always show for a throw in?

I have him set as "forward" for throw-ins yet he is ALWAYS showing the the throw in taker.

As I understand it, the throw-in takers setting is higher in the instructional hierarchy than what to do at throw-ins.

If you have no-one on the pitch set as a throw-in taker then it will go to the player the game thinks has the attributes to be the best throw-in taker.

I would recommend setting your midfielders as throw-in taker, your entire midfield in a descending list if need be. Barring any bugs, this should see him do his job and go forward, as he is removed from the higher rank consideration

Because he drags opposition players out of position with him, opening gaps for CMs and wingers. But you can simply change it in the throw-in instructions.
