CCFC_Fossick
Anyone been to a game today, or did anyone go to coventry v norwich (we, coventry, won) discuss it here.
LSD
I listened to the Leeds game on LUTV. It was a great game by the sounds of it. We were all over them in the second half... Had me shouting at my laptop several times to bury the ball in the back of the net!
PJ Bluenose 4 Ever
I went to Birmingham v Sheffield Utd not the best of games but we won. SUPER KEVIN PHILLIPS !!!
LSD
Wasn't it great that our teams were top... even for a little while!
PJ Bluenose 4 Ever
Yep lol if you seen the game we scored in last minute and we still had time to squeeze win " We are top of the league ".
LSD
We had about 10 minutes I was singing along to my laptop (And totally forgot the window was open... oops!)

ridley99
whos going to win the charity shield? I reckon its going to pens!
O\'Hara_fan
The most pointless game in the world, for all I care, unless it finishes 8-8 and goes on till its 22-21 on pens, then I don't care.
ridley99
the whole thing is done for charity and is seen as the opener for the season so how can it be pointless? I bet it wouldnt be if you were actually in it!
O\'Hara_fan
It's for charity, I always thought it was called community just because it was if you know what I mean. In that case, fair enough, charity games always get my vote. And if I were in it, I'd better start improving and get into an academy.
ridley99
i meant your team!
O\'Hara_fan
Well in that case, probably would watch it as if it were a pre-season match. Like Celtic and Dortmund, and it would add another trophy, it would be nice to win it, like any other trophy, but the important thing is, we would have either won the FA Cup or finished in the top 2 of the premiership.
ridley99
so its not pointless then! point proven
O\'Hara_fan
No, I'm just saying we would have won a major trophy and/or be in the Champions League.
LSD
Community Shield isn't pointless. What other country opens the season with the top League champions playing the Cup champions at the national stadium?
PJ Bluenose 4 Ever
Community Shield isn't pointless. What other country opens the season with the top League champions playing the Cup champions at the national stadium? Cracking point not many and for the Community Shield predictions mine is Man Utd 3-1 Portsmouth.
O\'Hara_fan
Looks like I've been outfoxed, I suppose youe right. Predictions, 2-1 Man U, same as the game in Nigeria,
millsybeast
as a Liverpool fan id like Pompey to win but i think itl be 3-1 to united. if it does go to pens id think Pompey would win as james is a decent old keeper lol
millsybeast
and i think tevez Anderson and carrick will score if they're playing and crouch will get his debut goal lol

LSD
Right... Well if I was a Liverpool fan (thank God I'm not) I'd say something like "hopefully we'll win the League" not "hopefully we'll beat Sunderland" lol
ridley99
liverpool win the league dont make me laugh they got a good strike force now shame about the defence and the calamity keeper!
bbuullddoogg
Community Shield isn't pointless. What other country opens the season with the top League champions playing the Cup champions at the national stadium? Pretty much every country I thought. Maybe not in the national stadium but Italy, Spain etc have the same thing. It was fun to watch the game after no football for so long. And nice to see Manure fail to score against Pompey lol. ComeontheArsenal
Hey LSD I watched the carling cup highlights last night Beckford looked a bit good, two of his goals were cracking, I liked the chip! Even though Chester were poor he's defo a star in the making. I hope you can hang on to him, he could fire you back to the prem. Maybe I'm getting ahead of things, you probably don't think so though! crickie
Hey LSD I watched the carling cup highlights last night Beckford looked a bit good, two of his goals were cracking, I liked the chip! Even though Chester were poor he's defo a star in the making. I hope you can hang on to him, he could fire you back to the prem. Maybe I'm getting ahead of things, you probably don't think so though! i was impressed with leeds and beckford in particular. I saw him a fair bit about 2 years ago when he was on loan at scunthorpe but he looks alot sharper now than he did then. Saying that chester were awful. I bet their very happy about rotherham, luton and bournemouth losing points or they would be down.
ComeontheArsenal
I agree mate they did look a bit of a pub team! :
LSD
Hehehe! Beckford banged in 20 last year... Looks like he is starting where he left off! Saying that, I've seen him play at Wealdstone (I live nearby) and he was almost always scoring. When Leeds bought him I was suprised to say the least but at the same time I was sceptical, the difference in quality of teams is immense! Last night pretty much confirmed what Leeds fans knew from last year, he is quality! But hopefully his hat-trick will silence the minority of fans who say he is lazy! Last nights result was almost set in stone, it should of been an easy game and it was. Some of the talent we have is unbelievable and, in typical Leeds "arrogance", I think we will walk it this year. crickie
i didnt know really where to put this but was is lee martin like ridley. i know your a manchester united support and we have signed him on a year loan today
ridley99
Martin is tipped for good things, playing well for the reserves but hard to break into the first team with the likes of giggs, nani and ronaldo in his way. ive got a feeling hes going to be a bit like eagles plays once and a while before being sold
LSD
So, technically speaking, there is a box at the end of the Man Yoo Academy production line and all the youth fall into it and are shipped of to other clubs without getting a chance? I understand there are better players ahead of them but Howson is keeping Douglas out at Leeds
ridley99
not really youve just got to reach a good standard look at who has come through scholes, butt, giggs, beckham, both nevilles, fraizer campbell, o shea, fletcher even wallwork, guthrie, chadwick to name a few
LSD
Well, understandably the first few names made it but it seems to slow down after that... What ever happened to Wallwork? Was he forced to retire after the incident?
ridley99
no hes a free agent as far as im aware, and theres higginbotham and mcshane at sunderland!
LSD
Big time players now eh?
