XaW
Challenge 1 - Save Sunderland - XaW Sunderland 1-1 Reading The first game against Reading started horrible a through ball from Bikey to Doyle ended in the net after only nine minuttes. The rest of the first half was a one way against my goal, luckily, Hübschman played marvelously in defence and cleared ball after ball. The only light came in overtime when a Harte freekick curled over the wall and into the top corner of Federici's net. 1-1 was the half time score. In the second half Reading just kept on attacking, while we tried to counter by pumping balls up to Jones and Prica. In the end, the game ended in a lucky draw for Sunderland. West Ham 2-1 Sunderland This game nothing more than a yawn, except the last 10 minuttes. It started when West Ham got a corner in th 82nd minutte. Noble sent a decent cross in. Hübschman gets his head to it, but can't clear it properly so Ashton picks it up at the edge of the box and shoots hard and scores. Sunderland had to change the tactic to a more offensive style. In the 87th minutte Burke gets by Salcido and crosses into the box where Rade Prica meets the ball with his head. 1-1. When everyone thought it was going to end in another draw for Sunderland, Bellamy gets the ball in the box and tries a shot. The ball strikes Hübschman and ends up with Noble who has an easy finish. Man Utd 2-0 Sunderland Everyone thought this would be a comfortable victory for United, but Sunderland had them struggle. Man Utd started attacking right from start. Tevez and Saha each had loads of chances to get the first goal, but Gordon had a great evening. It wasn't untill the 64th minutte when Tevez came one on one with Gordon the tie was broken. Sunderland had to move on the offence to salvage something from this game, and Tevez used this move to put another in the 77th minutte. XaW's thoughs We were very unfortunate not to do better, but all in all we didn't deserve to win any of the games. However it started bad before we even had a game. All the other relegation candidates won their first game, and thereby made it harder for us to have a possibility to avoid relegation. Points Nada, none, nothing. Now, I'm of to Malaysia to get some points! hopefully

bristolcityfan_06
3 Game battle - Sunderland's Sticky Situation Sunderland 0 - 1 Reading i had the worst possible start, dave kitson fired home on the 16th minute against the run of play and sunderland couldn't make their chances count, a game sunderland should have won. but still only 2 points from safety so it is still possible.
bristolcityfan_06
West Ham 4 - 2 Sunderland Another disappointing game i went 4-0 down by a hat-trick from carlton cole and a goal from dean ashton then we scored 2 through kenwyne jones and had an unbelieveable 3 goals disallowed, we were robbed. But we are still only 2 points from safety so it is still possible but we must beat man u.
bristolcityfan_06
Fulham have just beat newcastle 3-2 which has just sealed my fate, i am relegated after an embarassing couple of games but i was bombarded with loads of injuries, i will still play man u and get on with the next challenge then
bristolcityfan_06
Man U 5 - 1 Sunderland Well that finished that challenge off i went 5-0 down in the first 22 minutes and then beat them 1-0 in the 2nd half and missed a penalty, a terrible first half performance but a very highly polished second half performance kept the score down a bit. oh well onto challenge

qwerty52
What a nightmare. Here my attempt at the first challenge if its not too late. Great thread by the way. Here were the results: I fully deserved the win against reading and just one defensive slip-up was enough to screw me. What was worse was that both Big Kenwyne and Prica went down with injuries. Prica returned for united but I was already down by then. The final table: Mark me down for a total of 0 points then. . . On to Kedah!
