Martin and Tamworth geared up for another season, the onsite odd-job man re-oiled the revolving door and things were soon underway as Martin recruited more players from the pubs and parks teams across the country, eventually ending up with a grand total of 8 CB's at the club. Surely The Lalmbs could find a partnership that worked out of that lot. The biggest names to join the club were the mercurial Scott Donnelly and the much travelled Tommy Elphick.

As the seaon begun however, Martin became more and more concerned as it became obvious that things were not quite working out, with The Lambs continuing to ship goals in an untidy fashion and far too regularly, surrendering leads when in comfortable positions and not finishing teams off when in fornt. Soon Tamworth would find themselves, although still comfortably playing above expectations, slipping off the back of the pace setters York. Martin was going to have to do something, and do it fast, else the club would be unable to repeat the great success of the previous season. And so Martin sat down with his assistant manager and plotted:

"We need to look at the way we defend gaffer, it just aint working"

"Well thanks for stating the bleeding obvious, you fud"

"We ain't gettin the best out of Mike, boss"

"Well, no **** Sherlock!"

Martin looked at the tactical blackboard and announced:

"Right, here's what we are gonna do!"

MArtin opened up the desk drawer and pulled out an old dusty file fuil of tech stats, formations, and tactical notes. Puliing one from the back of the file, he popped it on the table.

"Jesus boss, the guys won't be able to pull that off"

"They will, or they are gone"

"Can't ask Mike to play there, he's never done that"

"He will, or he's off"

"Best get to work then" And Mike Edwards headed off to the training ground. Well the local park as Tamworth are too skint to actually afford it's own training ground.

And so the changes were made, and things began to improve, slowly but surel;y the gap to Forest Green first dwindled, then expanded, came down again, until finally they were overhauled. In the FAT, Tamworth continued to defy the odds, knocking out Newport County and Luton as they pushed on. With a dozen games to go, they were right back in the mix, in the drivind seat, playing well and the fixtures kept coming. Hereford and York troubled the two main contenders for a while, however began to fade towrds the end. However the biggest collapse as that of Forrest green. Having seen their overwhelming position shrink and be devoured by the marauding Lambs, they weakly surrendered all hope. At one point, in an attempt to galvanise his troops, FGR manager Craig Stevens went on the warpath with the wily old dog, mistimed the shot completely and fell flat on his face.

Having hauled themselve to the top of the league, the witches in the coven began to cast spells upon The Lambs, attempting to derail their push to the title, and as Roy Aitken pulled Southend United together, it begabn to work. The Lambs had incredibly turned a nine point defecit into an 11 point lead but soon the spells and potions began to pay off as the team captain Tommy Elphwick and the flying Dutchman were sidel;ined for the rest of the season. Experinced players, Scott Donnelly, Mike Grella abd Louis Atkins began to fade and the gap began to close as Tamworth stuttered againt bottom feeders and also rans. Eventaully, with two games to go, the gap was down to a 4 pt lead over Southend, with an away match against Southend on the cards.

Martin assembled the troops and called on the great god Odin for guidance. Mike Edwards looked around the dressing room after the final trg session before the match and took stock.

"Guvnor, Not liking what I see tbh. What if we dropped some of the big names for this one, threw on a few kids, and concentrated on getting the win at home to Guisely"

"Risky, Mike, but you know, some of those lads look hungry, the older players look jaded."

And so Martin sent out his team, scarificing Donnelly, Grella, Atkins and the Dutch Destroyer, bringing in the on loan German from Lincoln and a Viking to appease Odin. And it worked Tamworth eased to victory and the 3 pts that would seal promotion to League 2. The final game against Guisely was a formality and Martin went on holiday a happy man.

Season 2013/14

one game of football was all our season came down too....play off final against Brentford

with a healthly crowd of 51761 saw a 0-0 end to end 90mins both teams playing some fancy one touch football on a near prefect pitch.

we had gone with our 4-4-2 line up

GK Mannone the young keeper on laon from Arsenal

DL Andersen the German had only featured in 7 of our games all season but due to injury he was given the nod

DR Marrs aka the Mars bar kid, like Andersen had only played in 7 matches beforehand covering due to injury.

DC Ekong/Cesar together had knocked up 70 apps between them

ML Markoutz another loanee from Arsenal on a 3 month deal

MR Lange young german was released by Bayern had featured heavily on the right wing during the season

MC Ebecilio/Lansbury both on loan from Arsenal with Ebecilio making his debut

SC Cruz/Thompson Cruz was signed on the final day on loan window from Arsenal and was making his debut in the final after picking up an injury after joining us

we battered the Brentford back line but with no joy, this was evident with Darley the Bees keeper getting man of the match, just before h/t in ET the unthinkable happened a lucky break and the Bees took the lead.....'RAGING'

2nd h/t of ET we went gung-ho to no joy as the Bees sat with everyone behind the ball after 120mins of attacking our season finished on a low.

[video=youtube;MRjPGzQ9nXM]

with a good young squad on long deals we will no doubt be fighting again for the promotion with a little help from the Arsenal of course ;)

Finally We've Imping Done It

After coming close to promotion on the previous two seasons, Lincoln have finally returned to the Football League. And this season has proved to be pretty much a stroll, Jamil Adam once again led from the front as he ended up as top scorer once again. Although by his standards 30 goals was a poor return, and he unexplicably finished behind some crap striker from some crap no where near promotion team.

Adam was ably assisted by former Manchester United player Davide Petrucci, who ended with 12 goals and 13 assists from midfield, and England U19 star defender Richard Varney. The defence stepped up this season as Lincoln only conceded 29 goals in the 46 games, while also not letting up up front as they scored 101 goals aswell, finishing top scorers and best defence in the whole league.

Out of the 46 games Lincoln only dropped points in 8 games, losing 4 (3 against teams battling relegation) and drawing 4, which meant that Lincoln destroyed the previous points record for a Blue Square Premier season with 118 points. The FA Trophy and FA Cup were for once a disappointment, firstly a 4-0 annihlation of Lincoln by Ebbsfleet saw Lincoln head out in the FA Cup first round, the FA Trophy wasn't much better, Lincoln had in the previous two seasons reached the final, Kaufman decided that the assistant manager needed some experience so gave him his oppurtunity in the 4th round against Gateshead. The assistant however decided it wasn't an important competition so he put out a team of players who had not played all season, although despite this Lincoln only lost 3-2 to a full strength Gateshead team.

After wrapping the league up in mid March, Lincoln's manager decided to take some trips to other teams, one now famous match is that of the Play Off 2nd Leg Luton v Tamworth, an exciting game which saw Tamworth manager strike a tactical mistake (or 'genius' as he called it) putting a defender in goal which meant that Luton were able to score twice and equalise the game. Once the match went to penalties a load of calls were made and several managers discovered they were watching the same match, and they continued to laugh as they saw defender Franz not move for any of the penalties, and laugh even more once the Luton player blazed it over the bar and Franz duely stepped up and scored the winning goal. Kaufman was reported to say that Franz had planned it all along and he just wanted the glory, although Martin did try and steal the limelight with his 'genius' comments.

The close season was one of profit for Lincoln, Jamil Adam reluctunly left the club to Premiership side Watford for £1.1m, and Watford also gave Lincoln £785k for the sell on clause of Scott Loach. Although all this money was pointless as Lincoln were in need of money to get out of debt, which this meant they were well out of, and none would be moved in to the wage budget. Gambian international Ibou stepped in to Adam's place and we will see if he can reproduce the same goal scoring form Adam has done for the previous 3 seasons. Reports of Davide Petrucci leaving in the summer were to be found unfounded, after teams withdrew their offers.

Will Lincoln push on and make it in to League One at the first time of asking? Or will they plummet back down to the Blue Square Premier? We shall see.

Season 2012-2013

Final position: 11th

For the club the season was more or less what was expected but for the manager it ended up to be a disappointment.

The expectations were mid table, but the manager was expecting a play off spot. Unfortunately it was not to be. Too much tactical changes during mid-season ended up to be the reason for downfall.

Transfer policy

The team kept the same transfer policy as previous year and the years to come. Young talent all over the world are welcome to join the team and help the Fleet to achieve their long term dream. Most of them are part of the youth and reserves team, but hopefully will see them in action for the first team in the near future years to come.

Stats

Top goalscorer: Atana Ivanov - 18 goals (sold at the end of 2012-2013 to Darlington)

Most assists: Guillaume Norbert - 12 assists (sold at the end of 2012-2013 to Woking)

Most MOM: Kevin Isekusu - 5 MOM

Fans player of the year: Balazs Bergmann (sold at the end of 2012-2013 to Haladas, HUN)

Season 2013-2014

Transfers

Again a lot of incoming and outgoing players were registered. With some key players sold, mainly due to their age, new younger generation was expected to take charge and bring glory to Ebbsfleet the season to come. With this in mind, out of 24 players 18 were 21 yo and younger and only 3 players older than 25.

The team is set, now lets see how the season went

The Season

The start of the season expectations were 14th, but who cares about that. Our aim, as it has been past 2 seasons, was promotion.

The season started OK, but with too many draws we were unable to challenge for the title. And to be honest, with the team like Lincoln in the league, managed by a super-genius Jonny Kaufman, we had to be realistic and aim for the playoff spots.

By mid season we were lying 8th, but the form started to get better and the team gelled more and more and from there on we were seriously pushing for the playoff spots. And so it went. We ended 2nd in the league, behind super-Lincoln and just in front or Tamworth, managed by another super-genius, Fergus Martin. At that point it was evident, that the team to get promoted via Playoffs was either Ebbsfleet or Tamworth (because other 2 teams were crap).

And so the day came, 24th of May 2012, Wembley, London

Ebbsfleet vs Tamworth

The BSP Playoff Final

Total of 38 819 spectators came to see the match, which unfortunately came to be quite one-sided, with Ebssfleet dominating the game from beginning til the end and winning it with final score of 3-0.

It was a great day to the Fleet and to their Manager, showing that with young talented and unknown players you can achieve great things, if he spirit and determination is there!

Stats

Top goalscorer: Omar Baljic - 21 goals

Most assists: Milan Kubic - 12 assists

Most MOM: Kevin Isekusu - 7 MOM

Season 2014-2015 Preview

With first time in History reaching league football, the team is hoping to cherish this opportunity and make a strong impact right away. Now that the team has reached the new heights, we intend not to go back, but forward, only forward....

Current Club: Alfreton Town

Season: 2013/14

League: League 2

Media Prediction: 24th

Current Position Champions

Biggest Win Barrow 0 8 Alfreton Town

Best Player Juhan Lahouse

Best Potential Ersin Guler

So alfreton town done the imposible and won league 2!! was a long hard season but in the end we won by 9 points. It was a mixture of youth and experience that got us through with 10 germans in the squad as well as some experienced english players it worked perfectly. Alfreton started the season with a loss but looked far the better team with countless chances. First round of the league cup came and went with a 2 1 deafeat away at wigan. Alfreton then won 8 out of there next 10 games and saw them climb up to top 4. The middle part of the season saw Alfreton struggle to put a run together but still seen the team sitting in top 3. last 16 games of the season was Alfretons best spell with 12 wins which saw them excel and romp to the league title. It was an achievment that many thought would never happen but Alfreton celebrated back to back championships. The partying went on all week and right at the end of the season good friend and Hull chairman Don Robinson phoned and offered me the hull city job. I resigned and jamp at the oppertunity to work with such a big club who were underachieving in league 1.

Barrow Getting Stronger

With a full summer of Comings and Goings on the player front Barrow pulled in some big names from Premier League clubs. Players deemed not good enough and not offered terms for the season ahead, Knott took little time in getting on to these players about coming and playing for barrow.

The season started brightly for Barrow with Knott confident about the season ahead and the players at his disposal he knew that a top half finish was realistic and play offs would not be to far out of sight.

Whilst the team needed time to gel Knott knew that his team on there day could match most teams in terms of football being played ,But he knew with the sizes of clubs now in this division they would never be able to match teams in terms of contracts and finances.

Barrow form took a nose dive and Knott and chairman both sat down and came out that the best outcome would be for knott to hand in his resignation with 15 games to go.

Barrow Appointed Clarke Carlisle and managed to finish 8th.

Knott released a press statement that he was looking to get back into management as soon as possible.

Club: Fleetwood Town

Start of season expectations: Respectable mid table.

Media prediction: 23rd

After all the media predicting us to go down Fleetwood couldn’t have had a better season finishing a very respectable 7th 3 points outside the play-offs. We reached the 2nd round of both cups and the semi-final of the jpt so the aim will be to do better next time round.

Holding on to the clubs star players should be the aim as well as adding a new RB,LB and 2 wingers. Top scorer Anderson Costa has singed a new contract and will be hoping to add to is 29 goals in 48 games.

On the financial side the club is in a poor state 2 mill in the red but the board keep pumping money in to keep us afloat, the ground needs expanding as 5k is to small but the board won’t expand at the min.

BATH SEASON 2013/14 UPDATE.

After relegation last season, Bath City were looking to bounce back with a promotion challenge. Barclay kept his job but was given no money to spend on transfers and a wage budget already strecthed to capacity. The team got off to a steady start going 4 matches without defeat but were finding goals hard to come by.

Barclay went to speak with the board and came back with a promise of finding a parent club. That promise was delivered a few weeks later when an arrangement between Bath and championship side Watford was announced. Almost immediately Watford veterans Bobo Balde and Chris Iwulumo joined Bath adding some much needed quality and experience.

The Balde loan deal ended in 3 months and an extension was refused by the player but Iwulumo stayed for the season playing 30 times and scoring 20 goals before deciding to hang up his boots for good.

Despite Iwulumo's impressive record in front of goal, Bath struggled to hold on to leads and drew many games they really should have won. This saw an end of season collapse which meant that they finished the season in a very average 9th place, missing out on the play-offs and a chance of an instant return to the B.S.P.

The Bath City board held a meeting and decided that promotion was expected and with Bath not even reaching the play-offs Barclay was not offered a new contract.

Barclay said he understood the boards decision but was still very disappointed as he felt Bath would definitely challenge this season.

He was last seen clearing out his desk and walking towards the job centre. Roll on the 2014 season.

Exclusive Interview with Manager Ed Kelley

"Listen, I would like to see what you could do with a wage budget if 285 pound," said manager Ed Kelley when asked why his team still sat on the fringes of the playoffs after surviving a relegation scare last season. "This is the most difficult job I could imagine. Trying to win with the group I had would have been Mission Impossible, so I just let them all walk. The players here were terrible, pure garbage. I had to bring in players I trusted to get the job done, as the players who were here clearly could not cut it in the BSS. This is real football, hard tackling and route 1 passing. I know what I need to help bring this team to the heights where they belong. I just wish I had a board that agreed."

The American has tried his hardest to turn the Beavers into a winning outfit. As it stands right now, Hampton and Richmond have been punching above the weight and are still in contention for a spot in the playoffs. Key signing Flávio Paixão has brought a creative flair to H&R that has not been seen before at the non-league side. Though the team has struggled, they have looked like a force when they are playing at their top potential.

"The players who are now at this club have shown that they are capable of being a contender in this league, they just need to be more consistent and focused. We go from beating one team 7-1, to drawing 1-1 with a team we should easily beat. It is frustrating to concede in the last moments of a match because the team lost focus and thought the points were theirs."

With the season winding down, their is still a chance H&R could sneak into the playoffs, but it will take some work. They clearly are much better off then they were last season, and despite the low payroll, the future looks bright for the Beavers and manager Ed Kelley.

New Dawn Rises - season 2012/13

With the season about to become under way and all the new signings ready and waiting to play, Craig Stevens wasnt very active in the transfer window compared to what he usually is.

2vw902a.png

the signing's of the season were Declan McDaid, Stephen Bywater and Zapata Caicedo

Forest Green started off the BSS with a 12 match unbeaten run winning 7 games and drawing 5.Almost over half way through the season Sheffield Wednesday manager Alex Holligan, came to the little club on the hill to steal the clubs best scout. This didnt go down very well with the Forest Green manager who went as far to call him a **** as that was his only scout he could afford to keep who was producing soo many good player reports for FG. After this little blip on the season, Craig Stevens had to go on a staff search and brought in a few coaches and scouts mainly on non contracts as funds for wages was really short, the most notable staff member to join the team was Soccer Am Pundit Max Rushden.

The results kept coming and coming but with a few losses along the way, keeping up with the top 2 most of the season Salisbury and Welling Utd. The league went all the way to the end with all 3 teams looking to clinch the one and only automatic promotion place, with some rather amusing things happening with about 2 games to go the results of other games went in the way of Forest Green.

while in cup competitions Forest Green had a decent FA Cup run i guess, but the FA Trophy run was a little poor to be fair..

FA Cup:

FGR 2-1 Whitby 2nd qual round

FGR 4-1 Histon 3rd qual round

FGR 0-0 Maidenhead 4th qual round

FGR 2-0 Maidenhead 4th qual round replay

FGR 0-2 Hereford 1st round

FA Trophy:

FGR 4-0 Braintree 3rd qual round

FGR 0-0 Farnborough 1st round

FGR 0-1 Farnborough 1st round replay

here is the end of season table for the Blue Square South:

41itj.png

and with that tieing up Craig Stevens' Forest Green future at the club and signalling the end of his 2nd season.

now onto next season in the Blue Square Premier

Looks like I wont be at Grimsby much longer after guiding the team into a play off spot in League 1 with the same team I have had since the BSP. The team is now crumbling, the board are not giving me any support and have cut my wage budget 3 seasons in a row, this despite moving up 2 leagues. So I have started the Job hunt, I heard that sayers are looking for sum1 to put the cherry's on top of the bake wells. After all the hard work that I've put in the board just don't see the same vision i have for this club, they are going backwards and I wont be here to save them. we have depended on loans to keep us ticking by as we only have 10 1st team players in the squad.

We did have a good run in the FA Cup that has seen us earn around 1m extra in TV money and gate receipts, before being beaten in the 5th round at Ewood Park as a strong Blackburn team knocked us out. The extra money helped alot and the bank manager is no longer chasing us about. But will the board give me anything extra?? No! they just tell me to **** off.

RAGING!!

We had a good run but after missing out on the play-offs it was time to resign from Grimsby after 4 years at the club. The fans were devastated and it came as a shock decision for the board as I was untouchable at the club. Having brought them up from the Blue Square Premier League to 7th in League One is a great achievement but it was time to move on. I felt i had done all i could with the limited funds that I had. We had the same squad since the start of my reign, the board cut my wages every season and it was impossible to cut the team to get below my budgets.

There will only be 2 players left and no staff by the time July came, I had no room for movement when offering contracts to players. The board have let me and the fans down, Despite finishing the season with a 1m profit margin they still refused to offer me any more in wages or funds to sign new players.

angry-face.jpg

So now I am unemployed and looking for a job, There seems to be some interest from League Two teams but anything higher and they just laugh me off. Alex almost got the Liverpool job and that would of made me rage so much I would probably of quit the game, Cant have that fud in charge of my home team. Infact any C**t that takes Liverpool before me will forever be my enemy.

Just a warning...

Telfords foray into League 2 was unknown territory for Holligan, at the starte of season 2 in the EUC game two managers had made the break upwards. Andys Fleetwood and Holligans Telford. Holligan knew that his present squad would not be suitable. So the big rebuild began.

The first big decision was taken out of Holligan hands his board allbeit having small contained ambitions decided that the role of a full time professional outfit was better suited to the riggurs of League football. Holligan at once made renegotiating all his first team players and staff on full time contract his top priority. Out went players Sodinha, Janek, LAzzaro, Pinard, they had served their purpose a new younger squad was bolstered by Hitchcock, spence, ekong and many more as the below jpeg shows.

telfordinsleague2.jpg

Holligan also spent time restructuring the coaching side, the chairman had afforded him some flexability in this department and Holligan wasted no time in employing some "all in one coaches".

With the new players in place Telford came out the traps on fire and some lovely football was played. They were to maintain this form through out the season and won the League 2 title at a canter.

Holligans good work had not gone unoticed as back to back promotions with lowly Telford had been achieved. Hull sacked their manager and made Holligan their top target. With hull refusing to pay a compensation package, Holligan decided to gamble and resign from the team he had dragged up through 2 leagues. This was proved to be a fruitless exercise as the Hull chairman appointed some dutch hasbeen and Holligan was left high and dry much to the delight and merriment of his fellow Euc clan members.

Season Highs - Winning Title, Humping Andy 5-0

Season Lows - Davie howling with glee taking over at Tleford as their muppet of a previous mananger sat watching.....

So Holligan sat twiddling his thumbs, then he twiddled his thumbs some more, all the other Euc managers were getting into preseason, i was making the cups of tea..............

With all the jobs assigned and the start of the proper preseason underway it was looking bleak for Holligan to get anything before october. Holligan was ocnfident however of getting something eventually as he had a national reputation due to his previous successes at Telford. Suddenly a glimmer of hope was offered. THe brentford manager retired in the middle of July and a post was available, Game on.. An initial application was met with the usual "leading candidate" and "the chairman would be stupid to ignore" comments. Things were starting to look promising.

3 days later League One Brentford approached Holligan and he took the job with glee. Brentford were in a terrbile financial predicament but the Chairman was desperate for success and was willing to back Holligan with an extensvie wage budget..

The majority of the current Brentford did not meet the requirements of this dynamic young manager and a full clear out was the order of the day.

Holligans connections in the Transfer market meant such Stars like Ian Black from Hearts and Scott Vernon from Aberdeen would join the ranks of the youths signed on bosmans.

They would prove to add that essential experience required.

Brentford dominated the early stages of League 1 and after 9 games the steelness of the hardmen duo of douglas and black in the middle were starting to dictate games. Brentford had come fullcircle from looking rubbish the season before to looking like a serious title contender this season.

After yet another surprising Brentford win, Shef Wednesday who had been underperforming in the Division sacked their manager.....

Highs - Top of the league for a while with unfancied Brentford

Lows - none really

Ok we make a mockery of the term sleeping Giant, but in footballing terms wtf are Shef W doing in League one. The are a premiership sized club with a stadium and support to match. When the job became open you just had to throw your hat in the ring....

To Holligans amazement Shef Wednesday decided to pay Brentford the 90k compensation required and Holligans short career was starting to develop rapidly.

At first Holligan didnt expect much more than to consolidate the teams league pos. Wednesday were sitting in 17th spot 16 points off a playoff spot. A quarter of the season had come and gone. Holligan decided to trim the squad and wage budget and start a rebuild with the goal of challenging the year after.

The basis of the Shef squad was strong, Holligan got to work selling the high earners and brought players in that could do a job, Arsenal were approached and accepted the job of parent club to give Shef loan support.

Through New year Shef Wednesday had performed miracles in the league and were 5 points off 5th spot. Holligan decided to gamble and pay big money for a top striker that could maybe help Shef Wednesday spearhead a challenge. Scannel arrived and with him the belief and the big feck off unbeaten run. Wednesday proved they were a top team playing beneath themselves as they just annihilated all the teams put infront of them. On the last day of the season Shef Wednesday astonishingly were on the brink of a remarkable title victory.

All they needed to to was beat their old club under the stewardship of David Orr. AFC Telford.

[video=youtube;-jcMM1YmC7M]

The title thus was won in emphatic style as Davie was pumped hard and Holligans golden touch continued...

Highs - The title and "that" thumping of Orr to win it

Lows - Frazier Campbell getting my hopes up but underperforming.

Shef Wednesday were back in the Championship. Holligan immediately went to work on improving both staff and players. The board wanted just to maintain their position in the League so there was absolutely no pressure on Holligan. He could take his time and fashion a team that would hold its own in the Championship.

Ryan Bennett a fantastic CB playing his trade at Peterborough, Ivan a present u21 Spanish Left winger and Spearing a ball winning midfielder who had just been released from Liverpool were the main transfers brought in. A couple of young promising strikers would carry the fight.

Shef Wednesday started well and they dominated the league at the start. The partnership of Scannel and Dani upfront was ripping fellow championship defenses to threads. At the 3/4 stage of the season Shef Wednesday were sitting 9 points clear at the top. Holligan was in dreamland. Unfortunately success brings in attention and the chairman accepted 6.5m for scannell and the roof nearly fell in.... If it wasn't for Smid the polish u21 poacher bought to fill in the gaps upfront left by scannell Holligan would have conceded the title. As it happens the outlay of 800k and a small quick striker who was able score some important goals was enough At the end of the season Holligan won the title on 99 points joint with villa. Holligan had done it not only had he won 4 consecutive promotions and 3 consecutive League titles, but he had done it Shef Wednesday were back in the the top league...

Such was the success that Holligan had brought Sheffield Wednesday he was touted in the press as been the leading man for the Liverpool job who had just retired their present Manager Dalglish.......

Highs - Winning the title on goal diff on the last day

Lows - Losing cheap goals to Man Utd to get knocked out Fa Cup

Well That Was An Imping Success

After leading Lincoln to the Blue Square Premier Title so easily last season, hopes were high for Kaufman to do it again, despite the murmerings that he might leave to a better club. Although clubs had a little look at Kaufman, no one made a concrete offer and fans of Lincoln breathed a sigh of relief as he started the season again.

Despite losing superstar Jamil Adam to Premiership Watford, Ibou seemed a more than capable replacement, and he showed that scoring on his debut and showing what was to come the rest of the season. He was helped by the signing of Togo international Gangon and the staying of Davide Petrucci. Loan signings were to be the main source of players throughout the season for Lincoln, although they were not helped at all by their parent club Middlesborough. The season started indifferently, despite remaining unbeaten Lincoln drew alot of their opening 10 games and were slightly off the pace at the top. However once they started to gel and move in to a higher gear there was no stopping them, quickly Lincoln became the team to beat in the league and rocketed to the top of the table, replacing passport control Ebbsfleet.

This would continue throughout the rest of the season and show that the jump from the Blue Square Premier to League Two was nothing much, as Lincoln dominated the division just as they had done the previous season, although it would take them a month more to win the title. Scunthorpe were the only real challengers and for most of the season Lincoln were able to hold them off at arms length, and it showed once again as Lincoln won the title by a double figure amount, although 18 points less than they won it by last season. 4 losses were once again the only disappointments in the league, and once again Lincoln and Kaufman had set a new league points record for the 2nd consecutive season. Many were wonderering if there was nothing this man could do.

The League cup was another disappointment, coming in the preliminary round against also promoted Ebbsfleet, despite having the control of the match Lincoln were unable to kill off their opponents and Hinno's men managed to snatch a victory in the first half of extra time and go in to the League Cup proper. The FA Cup was once again a fruitful adventure, a 4th round run was impressive, seeing off League One sides Swindon and Chesterfield in the process, and only just losing to this seasons Premier League champions Liverpool at Anfield 2-1. The Johnstone's Paint Trophy was an unwelcome distraction for Lincoln and despite making it to the North area Quater finals, the fact Kaufman put out an entire reserve team against a full strength Hull team showed what he thought of the competition.

Once the season was over yet again there were rumours that Kaufman would leave, although some were quashed by the news that he had signed a new 2 year contract, although Kaufman claimed to know nothing about a new contract. We will wait and see what happens in the near future.

Breaking News!

Breaking news coming from Lincoln City, manager Jonny Kaufman has sensationally quit Lincoln, reports that he is looking for a Championship job are looking strong as he was seen meeting the Notts County, Coventry and Huddersfield Town chairmans. Kaufman has led Lincoln to back to back league titles and won the FA Trophy in 2013, interest has always been high in this man could this mean that he is set for a bigger job?

Kaufman Signs

Kaufman has today became the manager of Huddersfield Town, after a long sabbatical of 4 days Kaufman has decided to jump back in to football after finding gardening to be a very boring hobby. The Huddersfield manager walked one week ago after a disappointing season in teh Npower Championship. Kaufman was reportedly offered the Coventry and Notts Country jobs aswell, but stated that he has always had a soft spot for Huddersfield and the fact that they have loads of money has nothing at all to do with it.

Kaufman however wasted little time in spending money, bringing in Npower Championship winners Jay Spearing, Ryan Bennett and the Championship player of the year and Spanish U21 international Ivan from rivals Sheffield Wednesday for a combined £10m, also joining them are a highly rated French 19 year old Mehdi somethingorother, and England U19 international and from former club Lincoln Richard Varney for £1.3m. Although the marquee signing has been that of highly highly rated Brazillian striker Edmar, who rejected Sporting Lisbon to join the Huddersfield revolution for a reported club record fee of £15m, Kaufman looks set to press on with what could be a very interesting Championship season.

The season that never was

Time for a new season! horay!! With Forest Green back where they belonged originally before Ed Wilson took them down to the BSS. The future of Forest Green is looking rosey! being just in and around -300k in the bank the money situation at the club is what can be considered 'healthy' for most lower league teams, a great bunch of players have amassed with star players like Al Bangura, Daniel Bessa to name a few bonding well with the new signings brought in during pre-season.

Transfers:

Tommy Spurr - Doncaster - Free

Alan Cairns - St Mirren - Free

Tom Smith - Llanelli - Free

& 2 youth players aged 15-16

With Forest green given just under 9k on wages for the season and 5 players on 1.2k-1.4k the wage budget remains broken. With the season partly under way Forest Green went 12 games without defeat and looking really good for another promotion this time to 'League' football. After 22 games FGR and manager Craig Stevens were top of the league and 9 points clear, with everything looking good Stevens left it up to the Assistant Manager for a little while... that turned out to break the team and upon return..well everyone at Forest Green especially the manager is pointing it towards a government conspiracy perhaps a global betting ring..

Forest Green survived the season after being predicted 19th

lets just say it was the 'SEASON THAT NEVER WAS' - THIS SEASON NOW BELONGS IN THE PRESIDENTS BOOK(its gotta be real) ALONG WITH ALL THE ALIEN, BIGFOOT, GLOBAL WARMING BEING A HOAX,PAN AM FLIGHT 103, THE PHILIDELPHIA EXPERIMENT, NASA FAKED THE MOON LANDING, THE ASSASINATION OF J.F.KENNEDY CONSPIRACIES TO NAME A FEW...

we will never know

SEASON 2014/15 UPDATE

Following a disappointing end to the 2013/14 season Bath City manager Jim Barclay was relieved of his position.

The former Cambrigde and Bath manager had plenty of time to reflect on what could have been and he felt that he left Bath in a much better state than he found them albeit in a division lower.

He started to draw up a shortlist of potential signings and spent those lonely Saturday afternoons travelling the country watching non-league football in the hope that someone somewhere would completely balls it up.

After months of watching from the sidelines, Barclays wish came true as Woking Town sacked their manager and invited him for an interview. With perhaps not the best CV in football it was far from a certainty but Woking offered Barclay the post of manager and he duly accepted. Still keen to develop his early managerial career, it didn't faze Barclay too much taking over a team at the foot of the BSP by over 10 points.

The transfer budget was non existant and as usual the wage budget was already met but on a more promising note there was a link set up between Woking and Coventry City.

With this in mind Barclay got in touch with his Coventry counterpart in the hope to loan some up and coming stars or even some veterans left in the reserves but alas Coventry side wasn't that much bigger than Wokings and the players he deemed worthy to loan all felt that Woking wasn't a place they fancied playing their football.

So it meant that the team inherited would be left to play the second half of the season, it continued much the same way as the opening half with defeat after defeat.

With only around ten games to play things started to click and a goaless draw with Southend gave the squad a lift. An impressive 3-1 win over then second place Forest Green gave added momentum but unfortunately for Woking and its supporters this was just too little too late.

The highlight of the season was the signing of young Welsh under 19 striker Kerry Jones who had previously been on Liverpools books, who scored an impressive 4 goals in his first 5 games.

If the next season is to be a success then much of it might be on the young Welshmans shoulders.

The preperation for the season ahead starts here and the tricky task of getting players and staff to renew contracts is first on the agenda.

Current Club: Hull City

Season: 2014/15

League: League 1

Media Prediction: 4th

Current Position Runners Up

Biggest Win Barrow 0 8 Alfreton Town

Best Player Nicky Maynard

Best Potential Gerry Thomas

After 2 great seasons with Alfreton Town it was time to take the hot seat at Hull City. The team was not a great standard, player or coaching staff so we through out all the rubbish and spent 6 million replacing that. Nicky Maynard was brought in for 250 k and was an instant success scoring an incredible 54 goals all season breaking all kinds of records. The season started slowly but soon came good 10/11 games into the season. Grimsby started well but we all knew that wouldn't last. for the best part of 6 months the fight was between Hull City Sheffield United and Bristol City. Half way through the season Hull City found them self 2nd in the table 4 points behind Sheffield United with the crucial game in Sheffield. Hull City came out 4 2 winners and made the gap between the top 3, 2 points. Hull also found that playing in the JPT was dropping silly points here and there playing extra games. Internationals getting in the way and postponing matches was also having a knock on effect. Hull made the JPT final the game was postponed and moved to a Wednesday and this didn't help Hull at all eventually losing the final 2 1. The final few weeks of the season were back and forth between the top 3, Bristol City losing 2 games in a row dropped out of the running and it went down to the final day where any win for Sheffield United guaranteed the championship. They won 2 1 away to Oxford where as Hull City drew away to Fleetwood Town. Hull City getting promoted was the goal and Fotheringham delivered again. West Ham came calling and it was time to move on again. 30 million in the bank and a 480k wage budget was time to lick the lips, however the title must be won. Will it be the magical ending again or will it be a treck down the jobcentre with Neil "i give into peer pressure"Davis and ed "i'm aswell quitting" Wilson

After a few months of signing on the dole and enjoying some free time to myself I thought it was time to find a job. Doncaster Rovers was an ideal target, sitting low down in League Two and struggling, the ex championship team needed me. They needed a manager that can guide them back up the leagues.

The team is thin and lacking quality, Overpaid players on massive wages does not help me, most will be offloaded in January, but for now we will just have to look to bring in a few loans and look around the free transfer market to try add to the squad. I sacked a few players that are not good enough for Donny and managed to free up a bit of wage budget. We managed to bring in a few players on a free.

Pedro Sousa

The Portuguese goalkeeper was a big coup for the club, The former Braga youth graduate signed on a 2 year deal worth £1,000 per week. Hopefully this will give us a boost at the back with Donny leaking goals left right and centre it was clear we needed a new shot stopper, The current keeper (Arestidou) has been offloaded for £0 and will join Yeovil on January 1st.

Lean Van Poppel

Former Grimsby striker joined us on a free. I had originally signed the Dutch striker for the Grims but he was released after I left the club and was quickly snapped up by us just after I took over. Allready impressing in his 1st two games and will become a key part of the attacking line-up. The 22 year old spent 1 season at SC Heerenveen and 3 seasons at Grimsby.

Juan Segura

One of the biggest signings since taking over has been the capture of former Espanyol striker Juan Segura. but on a wage of £2,200 per week we have pinned alot of hopes on him and hope he can settle in the team quickly and get them goals that are going to shoot us up the table towards the promotion places.

Guillermo

The Spanish players continued to come as I used my good knowledge of Spain to capture former Barcelona right back Guillermo on a free transfer. The 20 year old signed a 2 year deal worth £1,300 a week.

Doncaster_3-550x250.jpg

The team is looking a lot stronger after only 2 weeks at the club, we have moved fast in the market and secured a few more staff to boost the back room team. Results have picked up over the last few games as we picked up wins against Plymouth (3-1) and Carlisle (3-1). In our last game we managed to come from 2-0 down to secure a well earned 2-2 draw against Rob Knotts Southend who are sitting in 3rd place in the league. We have moved up to 17th in the League and are 11 points behind a play off spot, but will only 17 games played and a lot more football to come we could make it, a few good results could set us on a run that could see us catch up and hopefully earn a play off spot.

We will see...

Love you DONNY!

BRING IT BIG BOYS

With the season over for Tamworth, Martin and Edwards decided that the only fair thing to do after there tremendous efforts was to reward the players with extensions to their contracts and a few weeks extra holidays whilst others toiled in the PO's. Having rejigged and re-signed all 30 of the existing players to one year extensions, Martin heard that a player he had admired for some time Dylam McGeouch was available in the summer having failed to renew his contract in Ireland. Securing this deal was the management teams last piece of activity before heading off for a well earned break.

Financially, Tamworth were in a poor state, not exactly making money, but steadily leaking funds. With an average crowd of just over 1,300 in the BSP the management team were looking to solidify in League Two, and hopefully attract larger crowds. As the summer wore on and other clubs wheeled and dealed, Martin and Edwards sat back, secure in the knowledge that there players were more then capable of survival in League Two, and that was all they needed. A couple of seasons to bed in to the hurly burly of the big time. Whilst Martin and Edwards holidayed on the Isles of Dogs, that well known poor mans holiday resort, the board of directors anounced that the club would become a full-time outfit for the first time in it's history. On Martin's return however he quickly realised there was problems as he turned up for training to find no players and few staff. The board in their infinite wisdom had neglected to change the terms of the players contracts, and allowed 3 of the backroom staff to move on. And so Martin began to approach the players one by one to renew their contracts, only to find that their demands would now cripple the club. Biting the bullet and praying for a miracle, he would press ahead week by week as the season progressed to ensure that the first time were tied dow to FT contracts.

As the season start neared the squad began to gear up for its first match in League Two, the fans sense of excitement and nervousness was palpable, however a well drilled performance by the team ensured a first win in the firts home game as a fully professional outfit. Martin however played down the result, knowing that his, at this point, still mainly PT players would struggle to compete with the rigours of Mon/Wed fixtures that would surely ensue, particularly since the clubs second game of the season was an away tie in the League Cup and sure enough, a resounding defeat ensued. Undeterred, Martin took the lads personally in training the next day rounding off the session saying

"Look, it's going to be a long 48 games and we are the kid who's just seen a rollercoaster for the first time, so whatever happens, enjoy each and every ride"

And so they returned to action, buildong on their initial success, and slowly, one by one, each player turned FT. The club however was leaking money because of it despite the increased average gate of over 3,000. As they did, their ability to sustain performances improved and the club began to notch up some remarkable result, non more so than a fine 4-2 win over Southend. As the players took to the pitch each week, the child like excitement of the rollercoaster ride was apparent and they played with an enthusiasm which could not be matched. If they were relegation favourites, they were going to go down with smiles on their faces, and so the results kept coming. Bouncing back immediately from the defeat to Preston, win after win was recorded, with seemingly larger clubs despatched with ease, the likes of Doncaster being destroyed along the way. Even a losing 3-0 HT score did not deter the Lambs, as Martin inspred an incredible revival to a 5-4 win by reminding them of the rollercoaster, not resorting to the screaming and shouting and fining of players some other managers turned to.

And on, and on, and on the ride went, first it was 5 matches undefeated, then 10, then 15 eventually reaching 20 hgames undefeated in the league and 13 points clear of Exeter, Ebbsfleet and Southend. The Lambs competed in the JPT for the first time with the sole intention of enjoying the compettion and using it to give the remaining PT players some match time, but victory over Shrewsbuty was followed by an FA cup win over Grimby and in the space of 3 days Tamworth had provided the biggest shocks in both competitions. And by the end of Nov, The Lambs were riding the crest of a wave. All bar one of the first 11 had signed FT contracts, however the club were leaking money hand over fist. With 51 pts in the bag by Novemeber, The Lambs would surely be safe from relegation.

HAving fired their way to the top of the tree, the inevitable blip was bound to happen, and the first signs of overconfidence crept in as The LAmbs suffered their first defeat in the league at home to Aldershot. The 4-2 score in Aldershots favour flattered the home team as they gave perhaps the poorest performance of the season. From that point on, League performances began to fluctuate, however the gap at the top remained fairly constant as all the other teams dropped points in their efforts to catch the Tamworth Train steaming ahead. The loss of young Brian Wilson would play havoc with The Lambs as Mike Grella struggled to make any impact, and along with Dylan McGeough and scott Donnelly, as senior players they were proving to be short of consistency. The FA Cup however proved to be a different story as Tamworth knocked out higher profile opposition in Chesterfield and Peterborough to earn a financially lucrative tie againt Liverpool at Anfield. Despite losing 2-0 The Lambs put in a creditable performance and fouind themselves in a financially secure position.

The Xmas window saw MArtin re-assess his squad and being short on transfer and wage funds he hit the laon market, bringing in 3 Liverpool youngsters, a couple of Arsenal kids and a young winger from St Mirren. Moses Ademola, Ian Abbot, Slinie Nyembe and young Slattery would prove to be the stabilising forces, particuarly after Tamworth sold of two hot prospects Shalk and N'Simba to further improve the coffers. As the season hurtled upon its finale Tamworth remained top of the tree, picking up valuable draws against all the other challengers and with 5 games of the season left Tamworth were crowned champions.

Tamworth were heading to League 1 and Coventry's boss Stevens was a worried man, having suffered at the hands of Tamworth with Forest Green

2014/15

once again another season falling at the play offs or is it just the month of May we do not like???

trashed 5-0 and 3-0 in our final two league games and tore apart by Swindon 4-1 on agg in the semi final of the play offs saw our good season fall flat on its face..

losing Cesar to Forest for £400k in the winter window was a huge blow one we couldn't replaced, but the money was good in the short term but over-all our finances are shocking.

working with £35k wage budget in league one is hard enough without the added pressures of players willing to sign but only on terms of £4k and above, so I spent most of the season scouting the youth in UK and Europe as players under 23 are more willing to take a £1k a week....once again Arsenal supplied the cover with 7 loans with Alex Chamberlain and Jose Cruz being the pick of them.

As for my players in Calin Grosu has to be one of the best along with Philipp Prosenik who was signed for £20k from Southend.

quotes

Am sorry but Neil Davis quitting Grimsby just because he raped their finances just shows what sort of character he really is......a knob about Neil Davis on quitting Grimsby

Paul Fotheringham hes the most unlikely football manager you'll ever see, infact if you where half sighted you would boot him thinking hes the ball. After losing 7-1 to Fotheringhams Hull

Fergus Martin he calls me up at 2am moaning like my ex, then i check the league table and the results and hes romping it...strange indeed. After Tamworth 5-2 win over Stockport

Ed Wilson...geez theres a name I haven't heard in a while, last I heard he was running a chicken farm on the outskirts of Swindon. When asked about Ed Wilson after losing to Swindon in play offs

What are Southend all about there sign 35 strikers and moan because I pinch Prosenik for £20k...hang on a second Mr Knott you bankrupt the club. After signing Prosenik

I couldn't give a toss about Billy Sharp so quit phoning me and telling me all about him and no I don't want a signed picture. After losing to Fleetwood once again

season 2015/16 are you mental it hasn't started yet so I don't want to talk about it just before the launch of the fixtures for 15/16

A Hudder Unbelieveable Season

After resiging and taking the Huddersfield job, Kaufman said to the board that he was expecting a tough season but to finish mid table, and so the board gave him some funds and he started to sign some younger quality. Edmar, Bendaballah, Spearing and Bennett being the bigger signings.

A poor start to the season saw Huddersfield knocked out of the League Cup in the first round, and in a dispointing 23rd place. However Kaufman stated it was just the team gelling together and to the tactics. And Huddersfield started to climb up the league and were soon competing for the play off places, and were starting to see a real gem develop in Edmar.

Unfortunetley come January, Premier league managers were circling around Yorkshire, with young right back Imad Younis being wanted by giants Chelsea and Liverpool. Edmar, after scoring 28 league goals in 26 games, joined Alex Holligan's, explitive, Tottenham for £18m, and Huddersfield fell in form. A run of unbeaten games came to an abrupt end and a run of draws saw Kaufman's men slip well away from the automatic promotion places. Despite the signing of 19 year old German, and who would get his first cap for the full national team soon after signing, Kaufman's men found it hard to find the back of the net. So the play offs it were to be finishing 3rd, Huddersfield would face Notts County, a team Kaufman turned down the chance to join at the start of the season. A first leg was back and forth, but Huddersfield managed to grab a 3-1 win away from home, despite Notts County seemingly edging the game. The 2nd leg saw Notts County take an early lead and Huddersfield play back to the walls stuff for 80 minutes, and with the heart in his mouth Kaufman was able to celebrate a victory which put him in sight of the Premier League.

Huddersfield would travel to Wembley to face off against in from Watford, who had the London crowd backing them. Watford had despatched play off favourites Southampton, but early on a corner routine, that was put in to action after a phone call to corner master Fergus Martin, put Huddersfield in to the lead. It was a lead that they would hold right up untill the dying moments when a cross came in and Watford managed to equalise, and the final was to go to extra time. Extra time came and went without any real alarm and so the new Premier league was to be decided by penalties, Ivan stepped up and tucked it home, Watford missed, Spearing missed, Watford missed, Pacisvikowsi missed, Watford scored, Bendadellah scored, Watford missed, and Jordan Rhodes..................scored, Huddersfield had done it, Kaufman had done it, everyone was relieved and happy, despite Huddersfield's lowly prediction they had managed to get to the promised land, it is an amazing feat and it will only be a short time before we see how much Huddersfield are going to get smashed in their new league.

Ok so my time at Donny was short (just like this post), the team is terrible and after being 7-0 down at half time to Aldershot I Knew my I made the wrong choice in joining this club. The board dont offer any help in terms of money and the team is lacking quality. The few players I managed to bring in have done well but it still not enough. So i resigned after just 3 months in charge.

Even Superman couldn't save this club !

After rage quiting Doncaster I didn't wait long for a new job. Colchester approached me just days after leaving Donny and I jumped at the chance to be back in League One. The struggling side was sitting in 21st place in the league and in danger of going down to League Two.

It was a great achievement to finish in 11th the league after some great form that saw us win 10 of the remaining 15 games with just 3 defeats against Rotherham, Brighton and Grimsby. There was some fantastic football being played and some great team spirit from within the team that saw us smash a few teams in the league, Andy's Fleetwood was destroyed 5-0 and dented there promotion hopes, High flying Wycombe also got a pumping as we beat them 4-0 and a good game against Craig's Coventry city ended with us winning 4-3. Some great performances for the team and there was early signs that this club could go places. Lacking in facilities and money though so its going to need a bit of work before we can think about Championship Football.

With a bit of money left in the wages after the deadwood had been released from their contacts at the end of the season we had to look into the free market. Bringing in a few decent players including Former West ham goalkeeper Marek Stech. we also signed a lot of young prospects as i rebuilt the youth team. One of the best piece of business we conducted was agreeing a partnership with Shef Wed, they had a lot of top kids from Alex's reign at the club and we snapped up 4 of them on Long term loans and these will become vital to our push for promotion.

The team is looking strong and I feel we can be real contenders for promotion this season.

The Dream Collapsed!

with Forest Green beginning a new season in the Blue Square Prem and after last season, things needed to happen as manager Craig Stevens looked at his squad and said we can do it this season. The season with forest green started and quickly became a really frustrating one as FGR couldnt even get into the play off places after a really really slow start to the season.

December came along and Forest Green came to face a league game at the mighty Colwyn Bay, which we lost.. seconds after the game had ended Stevens had resigned from the club after 3 years with the team.

During his free time Stevens had applied for the vacant Grimsby job in League One, days later i was offered the job at Grimsby and Coventry both in League One. With Grimsby rejected and Coventry accepted, Stevens moved into the Ricoh Arena, looking for a bright future for the team.

Sky Blue

Not long after taking over at Coventry, Stevens met with the Chairman to discuss what could be done for the rest of the season after the sky blues were predicted 4th but were just sitting above the relegation places by mere points. They came out the meeting saying lets just carry on and let the work begin on the team next season.

A bit of rebuilding took place, with a few players leaving like Gary McShefferey and Matty Fryatt, both of which were too highly paid for their rating and performances on the pitch. A few freebie players came into the team to fill their spots and a few others from aging players.

Coventry finished the season in 17th place, till next season...

And so the revolving door at Tamworth opened as Martin re-assessed his squad for League One. Only 9 players were retained from the previous season, however Martin soon discovered that brining in any talent this year was going to be more difficult. Most of the staff were released as another backroom rebuild took place. With that sorted Martin turned to the board and requested more funds, more wages, to which he was asked to leave the room and not be silly. This was going to be a tough season, and with the first match away to Coventry, the team was woefully short of players. Despite this Stevens fears were realised as Tamworth performed a smash and grab of all 3 pts in their first game at this new level.

And so The Lambs were up and running, however adding to the squad was proving to be difficult, as even though the team were now at a decent competitive level, finding players to come to Tamworth was proving to be difficult. So MArtin did the next best thing, sacked most of the staff and employed new ones. No money was to be provided for transfers as it was being used for adding some more seats and upgrading the trg facilities.

Results on the park however were good, but fluctuating as Tamworth would win as many as they would lose, however as they window closed, Martin had sufficient players to field, although centre of midfield would be an issue. 15 games in and Tamworth were sitting in mid-table. However as November approached, the Tamworth board began to worry as Martin began to be linked with Clubs in the Championship. The departure of Martin was sealed after he applied for both managerial positions at Reading and Fulham.

And so Martin headed for London. So long Tamworth, it was fun whilst it lasted!

The Tamworth board were now in a quandry, who could they appoint to replace mercurial Martin. It was rumoured that Rob Knott, was interested, but, they wouldn't, would they?
