Cant see him getting far with his attitude, well not to the top clubs in the world. His has great ability, but instances like this dont help him. He only left Lyon because he started getting arsey when he was being rotated in the latter stages of last seson.

If he does this twice with Gerets he is out of the team. He is a hard one. :)

Can only hope he will mature more, still got time

Didn't i tell you about Puel!! Gigantic ass if you ask me.

What do you expect from PSG? If you buy oldies you can't get consistency!

Yes and no, but if you look at how LOSC were setup under Puel he had two holding midfielders, yet with Lyon he virtually plays every midfield as a rampaging attacker. I find that odd, I'm still happier with Puel than Perrin! Good to see Delgado play and score, rather have him on the pitch than some of the others.

Yes PSG have old players, but there not all old. They lack the cutting edge, classic example is Hoarau he misses so many it's unreal :/

Part of me is glad le guen is having alot of bother at PSG, his ego needed trimming a purefun ;)

Karim Benzema has stated that he will join Barcelona or Real Madrid next summer after deciding to leave Lyon.

The French forward was heavily linked with a move to Manchester United before Dimitar Berbatov's arrival at Old Trafford but a number of other European heavyweights have also been tracking his progress.

The 20-year-old has come up through the ranks at Lyon but has now revealed that he will be ready to exit his boyhood club at the end of the season.

Benzema has set his sights on a move to Spain and has invited Barca and Real to vie for his signature.

"My future? I like Spain. Next year I will play for Barca or Madrid," he told France's Stade 2 programme.

Reports suggest that Lyon may allow Benzema to leave the club, but it will be on their own terms and they are believed to be only prepared to listen to offers that could break the world record transfer fee.

One criticism of Benzema is that he is not yet ready to step up and become a star at one of Europe's biggest clubs, but the player himself thinks that is unfair.

He said: "Some people have said I cannot play at the highest level. How ridiculous. I have a lot to learn and am still growing.

"I am only 20 and am working hard to improve all the time."

Awww, Noes :(

Aulas says 80Million euro's gets someone Benzema, the problem I have is Madrid/Barca don't necessary need him. I understand him wanting to progress and move on, but only if he gets played regularly and in the proper position.

Don’t want another Henry situation for example where he is played a lot on the left :(

Nobody is going to pay such a ridiculous high fee.

Aulas first said that for 50m you would get his ear, then for 100m the whole package and now he wants 80m. I think we are making progress.

I want Benzema at Barça because he's the best medium term replacement for Eto'o. I hope we sign him next season or in 2010 (I don't mind if we have to wait another season for him). I would pay 60m for him AND Toulalan at most though.

Barça will try to sign him, that's for sure, but as hopey said I don't want to see him on the left. That would be ******** and I can see them doing it.

Real Madrid need him. Van Nistelrooy and Raúl are old and their current “star” is Higuaín and that's very sad. They need a top striker.

Was a good win for Lyon, but there still not playing well at all :(

But, they are 4 points clear.

Bit stupid assuming that either club would just come in for him just because he says he would like to go to one of them.

True, but that still doesn't mean there playing well ;)

I'd be very surprised if they did not come in for him, both have been interested in him for years tbf

Of course not, but if they are playing so poorly and are 4 points clear, then imagine what will happen when thay actually start performing to their potential.

Indeed. But it is very arrogant and presumptuous of him. :thdn:

Yep Gignac is good. But what about Ben Arfa he is having a great season so far except that little argument with his manager. Again they should have never sold him. :(

It was right for all those concerned that he left Lyon; he causes a lot of trouble at times. He wasn't going to get a game every week at Lyon so while still potentially a very good player I think Lyon did the right thing. He's having a good debut season, although it's still early days in the season :D

Every team has player who moans ... so i disagree. They should have appointed a manager who could cope with that in a efficient way (like Gerets) so they could keep him. In all fairness Lyon doesn't have anybody in the team (on the left) that is better then Ben Arfa imo.

It's not just about moaning, it's his petulance and attitude it can have an adverse effect on the team. Puel was a much better choice as manager than most around in Ligue One at the moment so I can see why he was chosen. I know why you bring Gerets into the mix ;) Yes Lyon's left side is abit weaker now but having said that I do believe the decision to sell Ben Arfa in the long term will be for the better of Lyon. Lyon have some options on the left side, Mounier for example has been given a chance and has looked very promising, he might not have been given the chance had Ben Arfa still been in the squad.

What’s positive is that Ben Arfa stayed in France to finish his education so to speak, that benefits French football overall and is how it should be. Too often and too soon youngsters from every country move to a top club in a bigger league where a lot of them don't get a chance for quite a few seasons. Some never really get a chance and are therefore hindered long term wise..

Seems as good a place as any to ask: where do people watch their Ligue 1? Getting Sky, which will be installed beginning of next month, so hoping there's something on there. Is there anyway I can get Canal+, without having to actually get a card from France?

I don't know with sky weather you can get Canal+ or French football, Sentana do show live French football and also the highlights that's the best I've found with TV packages so to speak. Unless I've missed another channel that shows French football...

Lyon Sent Crashing Out Of Cup

French champions Lyon were sent crashing out of the Coupe de la Ligue as Metz ran out 3-1 winners at Stade Gerland on Tuesday night. The Ligue 2 visitors raced into a two-goal lead before the break through goals from Victor Mendy and Sebastien Renouard.

Brazilian Cris pulled one back for Claude Puel's team but their fate was sealed when Romain Rocchi added a third with 23 minutes to go of the fourth-round tie.

Another shock came as top-flight Sochaux were knocked out by Ligue 2 Lens thanks to Alaeddine Yahia's extra-time winner in a 1-0 victory.

Laurent Blanc's Bordeaux avoided similar ignominy as they saw off Guingamp 4-2.

Benoit Tremoulinas and a Gabriel Obertan brace appeared to have settled the tie before the visitors fought back through Eduardo Dos Santos's double - all five goals coming before half-time. Fernando Cavenaghi's late spot-kick eased Bordeaux's nerves.

But Auxerre, mid-table in Ligue 1, followed Lyon and Sochaux in being knocked out by lower-league opposition as Vannes defeated them 2-0 thanks to late goals by Laurent Herve and Kemal Bourhani.

The only remaining Championnat National side, Creteil, were hammered 3-0 by Nice, for whom Chouki Ben Saada, Anthony Modeste and Habib Bamogo all scored.

In an all-Ligue 2 battle, Chateauroux won 2-1 at Montpellier.

Lilian Compan put the hosts into the lead but second-half strikes by Bakary Sako and Jacob Mulenga saw La Berri home.[/Quote]

Just thought I'd add this to the results already posted.
