I would also like to have as many tactics, training files and mods available .. If someone could please point out the content they would like included, GM Games will gladly host with no issues on bandwidth downloading.

Thanks , please contact chris@GMGames.org , looking forward to seeing some of you there

Has a lot of potential but what I recommend you do is get a few members of staff in who specialise at a certain game and an area in that with some scene knowledge/friends and content (for example get someone as a mod who can do FM tactics and has done articles). What this will do is give you a bit of an edge on each game and get members through the content while also having your moderators' friends and the moderator themself providing the knowledge and expertise which can help you expand.

I agree completely. I have been an end user of FM and many different simulation games but have not always been active in every community. It becomes harder to find some of these community leaders but your recommendations are exactly what I would hope for.

Reputable members of the FM community for example that would encourage sharing their FM experiences, knowledge and content to fans of all sports and simulation games in general. The potential for exposure is great if involved in our configuration/community. Cricket users could view Football and vice-versa.

You're bang on

What I used to do at Fanboys when I was admin there was look for a specific thing such as logos in OOTP which leads me to here then go on their profile and look at reputation, posts/threads activity and when they were on last and their position (if they aren't a member then there is no point in asking) and if they fit the bill get their Skype, MSN etc... and build up a relationship and ask if they are willing to help.

Bare in mind if the game is defunct like EHL then there is no point in having someone to do anything unless there is a big fanbase still that thrives off downloads and discussion from the last version, the variable in this case is the activity of the fanbase and the scale of it.

On a sidenote please bare in mind the scale of games compared to forums such as FMH has a thriving fansite (FMHVibe) but that is because of how small the game is and how limited the site can offer the community due to this and basically however you get in will have to work twice as hard to find unique things to get members off and onto your site where as FM is a lot bigger and has so many areas people like to explore/edit.

Good luck :).

I agree with all your points.. To be honest we are only a month in and we've had every simulation sports developer express their desire to see us succeed and have their games reviewed. We will continue to be an impartial opinion on sports simulation and as such we are not leaning in one companies product or another. I think in that sense visitors can trust our intelligence and judgment. But yes, some guys are clearly ahead of the pack - ie. FM

I totally get what you are saying about point of difference to attract people from other sites (FMVibe). I think over time as we continue to consolidate a lot of useful information in one site, there will be a desire to find a one stop shop to get caught up on something they don't need to crawl 3-5 websites for sim game updates.

Furthermore about building relationships, I started earlier with the game developers like SI Games (Marc Vaughn), Gary Gorski, OOTP Dev (Markus and Sebastian) but now plan to work on community leaders , as on-going content prior was always my first major priority. I do not plan on going anywhere, so the more people I find as you mention through instant messaging and relationship forging will come. Heck its only been less than a Month for us.

Cheers and I really enjoyed reading your input.
